31DC2014 Day 18: Half Moons

Day 18 of the 31 Day Challenge 2014 is half moons and I was so excited for this prompt! 

I had this great idea in my head to combine a half moon manicure with an outline technique and the end result is awesome if you ask me ;) 

Alright I started off with a base of Color Club Look, Don't Tusk. When it dried I created the half moon with a small nail art brush and Lime Crime Parfait Day. When all of that dried I outlined everything with the same brush and China Glaze Pool Party. I sealed it all in with Essie Good To Go and the design was finished. 

I just love when an idea works out, it doesn't always happen for me but when it does you better believe I do a pretty fantastic happy dance ;) LOL

31DC2014 Day 17: Glitter

31 Day Challenge 2014 Day 17 is..... GLITTARRRRRR!!! *.*

Sparkle is my favorite color so I was super excited for this day! I had some iridescent glitter laying around from The Born Pretty Store and I've been wanting to try out some mermaid-esque nails for a while now and what better time or prompt?! 

I started off with a base of Essie Blanc. When it dried I created the gradient with Lime Crime Once In A Blue Mousse and Lime Crime Pastelchio. Then I took the iridescent glitter from The Born Pretty Store and placed each piece on my nail. Two generous coats of Essie Good To Go sealed the whole design in. 

The glitter on the edges of my nails are a bit too large to lay flat, they probably should have been trimmed but trimming pieces of glitter makes me want to slam my head into a wall, repeatedly ;) LOL But I'm really digging the final look it was SO SPARKLY! And anything sparkly is a-okay in my book!

31DC2014 Day 16: Geometric

Hey guys!

It's day 16 of the 31 Day Challenge 2014 and the them is geometric! I went the easy route today again with some stamping, but I have tomorrow off of work so I should be able to get back into doing some more fun free hand work! But these nails are so fun and colorful it makes the stamping okay! ;) 

I started off with a four different bases, Color Club Eternal Beauty, Color Club Miss Bliss, Color Club Over The Moon, and Color Club Kismet. When they were all dry I stamped over them using Bundle Monster's plate BM-417 and LA Colors Black. I sealed it all in with some Essie Good To Go and the design was finished!

I love using the Color Club Halo Hues they're just so holographic and sparkly and everything that makes me smile! ;) And the fun triangle stamp doesn't tone down the holographic-ness at all!

31DC2014 Day 15: Delicate Print

Hey guys!!!

I bet you thought I was going to fall behind today didn't you?! I almost did since I didn't have anything done for today but lucky enough I got out of work at 1:30 so that's plenty of time to come up with something!!

I've still been so super busy so I decided to go with something easy today: some stamping!! I've got plenty of delicate looking stamp patterns and I'm happy with the one I chose for today! Ready to check it out?

I started off with a base of Essie Eternal Optimist, a lovely, delicate mauve toned pink. When it was dry I took Bundle Monster plate BM-323 and PMTG White Undies and stamped a lace looking design on my tips. Some Essie Good To Go on top and the design was finished. 

I really love the way this almost looks like a normal french tip design and the base works so well with my skin tone. Super fun but still delicate right? :)

31DC2014 Day 14: Flowers

 Happy Sunday!!

I've finally got my 31 Day Challenge 2014 day 14 nails done! I meant to do them yesterday but that cold really kicked my butt!! Thankfully I'm finally feeling better since I'm so behind on EVERYTHING! I'm really quite amazed that I've kept up with this challenge! 

Anyways, let's get on to some flower nails!

I started this design off with a base of Color Club In De-Nile. When it dried I outlined the flowers with black acrylic paint and filled them in with Lime Crime Parfait Day, Lime Crime Lavendairy, Lime Crime Peaches <3 Cream, and some light green and yellow acrylic paint. I painted the faces on with black acrylic paint and added a layer of China Glaze Fairy Dust because why not?! ;) And I sealed it all in with a generous coat of Essie Good To Go. 

Hmm not quite sure why my hands look so lobster-ish here! But oh well at least these little flowers are so cute! I purposely made them messy for a childish look. Fun right?!

31DC2014 Day 13: Animal Print

Hey guys!

It's day 13 of the 31 Day Challenge 2014 and the theme is animal print! I wanted to do something different from the normal cheetah, leopard, or zebra print so I googled unique animals and got a pretty pink / purple and black frog. It's beautiful! So I decided to try to recreate some of the design, but in my cold induced haze it came out a bit.... errrr..... scribbly ;) LOL and the color isn't quite right but I love love love bright pink and black so you guys have to deal!!! ;) 

I started off with a base of Wet n Wild Black Creme. When it dried I took a small nail art brush and some pink acrylic paints and scribbled on some random line / blob things ;) When it dried I took China Glaze Pool Party and went over all of the pink to make it super bright! I sealed it all in with a generous coat of Essie Good To Go. 

Welp there ya have it, some fa-blobulous nails ;) I mean if you squit, tilt your head sideways, and put your eyes out of focus it kind of looks like this frog print!! LOL Oh well at least I tried right?

And bonus pic of the frog that I tried so hard to recreate: the atelopus / clown frog :) 

Gorgeous right? Maybe next time I'll get it right :)

31DC2014 Day 12: Stripes

Ugh fall, I really wish I didn't hate you! But with your cold weather and germy colds how could I not? Of course the universe would decide that now is the perfect time to get a cold, with the opening of my shop, working two jobs, and trying to complete this challenge -_- Why universe WHY?! 

I really am the most miserable person in the world when I have a cold... so expect to hear some complaining while it sticks around ;) But I'm still going to try my absolute hardest to finish this challenge cold or not! 

So let's get on to the nails shall we? Day 12 of the 31 Day Challenge 2014 is stripes and I thought this would be the perfect time to debut my The Little LacquerBean mini straights nail vinyls! I started off with a base of Wet n Wild Black Creme. When it dried I placed my nail vinyls on my nails, painted over them with Color Club Beyond, and peeled them off to reveal some funky striped nails! I sealed it all in with some Essie Good To Go. 

So sparkly! *.* LOL I love how subtle this look can be but the second the sunlight hits it BAM! holo ;) 

I thought about spicing these up even more with some more stripes in other holographic colors but I'm just too tired to get it done :( I'll have to put it in my idea book for a later time!

31DC2014 Day 11: Polka Dots

 Hey guys!

Well we've made it to the second part of the challenge: styles! Yay! Now it's time for some more interesting nail art! And what better way to start it off then with day 11: polka dots!! 

Wanna see what I did?

I started this design with a base of Color Club Look, Don't Tusk. Then I took a toothpick and one of my dotting tools to create my dots with black acrylic paint, China Glaze Pool Party, and China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise. When the dots dried I topped it all off with Essie Good To Go. 

I really enjoyed this design, I've never done random, dotted designs like this before but it turned out exactly how I pictured it would! *happy dance*

31DC2014 Day 10: Gradient Nails

GRADIENTS. GRADIENTS. GRADIENTS!!!!

I've been waiting for this day! Side note: have you ever noticed that the more you spell something and look at it, the more it looks like it's spelled completely wrong? Strange ;)

Anyways... today is day 10 of the 31 Day Challenge 2014 and the theme is gradients! I'm not kidding when I said I've been waiting for this! Gradients are one of my absolute favorite types of nail art, and I really don't do them enough. I decided to go with a soft and sweet look this type with of course..... HOLO on top! :) 

I started off this Lime Crime inspired design with a base of Essie Blanc on all of my nails. After that I taped off around my nails and created the gradient using a cosmetic sponge and Lime Crime Parfait Day, Lime Crime Lavendairy, and Lime Crime Once In A Blue Mousse. I topped it off with my special holographic top coat from my The Little LacquerBean Halloween Collection. A layer of Essie Good To Go on top finishes off this look!

Wow, I'm in LOVE! I thought yesterday's rainbow nails were going to be my favorite but boy was I wrong! This one has definitely got the top spot so far! ;)

31DC2014 Day 9: Rainbow Nails

It's day 9 of the 31 Day Challenge 2014 and the theme is RAINBOW!!!!

I'm so pumped, I love doing rainbow nails! I know you guys don't see many on my blog but trust me, combining all those colors just makes me all happy inside :) 

Ready to see what I came up with???

I started by painting on the red section with a small nail art brush and OPI Big Apple Red. Then I followed the line and created the rest using OPI Juice Bar Hopping, OPI Candlelight, OPI You Are So Outta Lime!, Nina Ultra Pro Blue Blaze, and OPI Push & Pur-Pull. Once all of the lines were created I top coated with a super secret special holographic topcoat... hint, it's mine and it's part of my soon to be released Halloween collection and it may or may not glow in the dark ;) After that I sealed everything in with a generous coat of Essie Good To Go! 

So how about that holographic top coat?! It may be my favorite from my Halloween collection from my brand The Little LacquerBean! Keep an eye out for the release date, it's coming up soon! 31DC2014 Day 8: Metallic Nails

Well it's day 8 of the 31 Day Challenge 2014 and you guys know what that means... time for some metallic nails!! 

I was super excited for this day because I had such a fun manicure in mind, and it actually came out somewhat how I planned ;) 

I knew right away that I wanted to test out some of my The Little LacquerBean nail vinyls and combine them with a shiny, rainbow-esque design. So check out what I came up with!

I started off with a base of OPI Push & Shove on all of my nails. When my base was dry I placed some TLLB wave nail vinyls (You can buy them HERE) on each nail. I painted over each nail with Sally Hansen Cobalt Chrome, SH Minted Metal, SH Liquid Gold, and Essie Penny Talk. I removed the vinyls and topped everything off with some Essie Good To Go and my design was finished. 

I just love the subtle rainbow finish to these and they were SO SHINY! If you know me you know I can't resist anything shiny! Yeah I'm one of those simple people ;) And that's just perfectly fine by me!

31DC2014 Day 7: B&W Nails

Hey guys! 

Well I did it! I made it a whole week of the 31 Day Challenge 2014 *happy dance*... no I'm literally happy dancing LOL! I honestly didn't think that I would make it this far between work and opening up my indie shop which you guys should check out HERE! ;) ;) 

But I somehow managed to find time to squeeze in some designs, and while they aren't exactly my best, they're something and I like them! 

The theme for day 7 is black and white nails. I found myself totally uninspired for these.... black and white can be so elegant or modern or just plain clean, but I couldn't think of anything that would make me happy. Until my mom suggested dots! A million different ideas ran through my head on different ways to do dots with black and white, and in the end I settled on this fun alternating mini dot design.

I started with a half and half base on each nail using Wet n Wild Black Creme and Essie Blanc. When it dried I added the black dots on the white half with a small dotting tool and Wet n Wild Black Cream and because I wanted the white to really stand out I used the same dotting tool and some white acrylic paint. I sealed it all in with some Essie Good To Go and the design was finished. 

I sort of wish that I used tape to create the half and half base, I feel like this design calls for crisp lines. But being short on time I just had to use the polish brush and my slightly shaky hand ;) These nails were super fun to look at even if I could only wear them for a couple of hours!
