Silver and Gold

So you've been looking for a holiday manicure to rock this season but you're sick of the green and red and cutesy designs? Do you want something more punk-ish? Want to spice it up a bit? I totally have the design for you! Keep reading to find out how to get this super fun and spunky silver and gold design.

Wow, is it just me or did I really sound like I was trying to sell you guys something up there? I should totally become a sales person! LOLOL

Selling isn't for me, but this design certainley is! I mean don't get me wrong I love red and green and cutesy Christmas nails but sometimes I just crave a little more spice.

I started off with a base of Wet N Wild Black Creme. When it dried I used Maybelline Color Show Bold Gold and Sally Hansen Silver Sweep and created a water spotted design. Instead of top coating for a shiny finish I opted for NYC Matte Me Crazy. Finally I added some small tear drop shaped rhinestones.

I love how this design looks, punk rock but still totally in the holiday spirit.

If you want a better look at how I created these nails, because come on I'm really not that good at explaining myself, head on over to my Instagram (@pinkandpolishednails) I will be posting a video tutorial shortly.

What do you guys think?

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel swatch and review

So you want the longevity of a gel polish without the hassle of removal? Or you want that super shiny finish without having to purchase a LED lamp? Well, you've come to the right place!

I'd like to introduce you guys to Sally Hansen Miracle Gel, the revolutionary new gel manicure system without the light.

What does this mean you ask? Well basically it means that you get everything that's amazing about gel polish, the longevity and high shine, without the need of a lamp! Technology now a days huh? Crazy! I've got one of their new shades to share with you guys today and hold on tight because it's a stunner!

Combustealable is a drop dead gorgeous teal shimmer. It has a slight purple shift in the bottle, not quite as noticeable on the nail but still definitely there. The formula was just like butter, so smooth. Swatch below is two coats of Combustealable with one coat of their special Miracle Gel top coat.

I mean just look at that shine! Not to mention that it dried super fast. Now I don't usually have the opportunity to wear a specific polish on my nails for any period of time, and it's even shorter now with the 31DC2014 going on, but I wore this polish for as long as possible... a whopping 4 hours LOL. But that was plenty of time to let it dry and I just want to let you all know that removal was the same as any normal polish, just some cotton and nail polish remover and it was off! I have to say I'm quite impressed :)

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel polish retails for $9.99USD for a 14.8mL bottle. Don't forget to purchase the top coat as well! The top coat, this color, and make others can be purchased here or at various drugstores. Make sure you stay up to date with all the happenings by following Sally Hansen:

What do you think? Will you try out an of Sally Hansen's Miracle Gel polishes? Or have you already tried some? Let me know what you think in the comments!

31DC2014 Day 8: Metallic Nails

Well it's day 8 of the 31 Day Challenge 2014 and you guys know what that means... time for some metallic nails!!

I was super excited for this day because I had such a fun manicure in mind, and it actually came out somewhat how I planned ;)

I knew right away that I wanted to test out some of my The Little LacquerBean nail vinyls and combine them with a shiny, rainbow-esque design. So check out what I came up with!

I started off with a base of OPI Push & Shove on all of my nails. When my base was dry I placed some TLLB wave nail vinyls (You can buy them HERE) on each nail. I painted over each nail with Sally Hansen Cobalt Chrome, SH Minted Metal, SH Liquid Gold, and Essie Penny Talk. I removed the vinyls and topped everything off with some Essie Good To Go and my design was finished.

I just love the subtle rainbow finish to these and they were SO SHINY! If you know me you know I can't resist anything shiny! Yeah I'm one of those simple people ;) And that's just perfectly fine by me!

Okay it's your turn! Post a link to your metallic nails in the comments so I can see them!!!

Abstract geometric

Ever have one of those nights where you can't figure out what to paint on your nails so you just start randomly doodling?

Yeah that definitely happened to me and the result is a geometric type design with some cool metallic and some pastel colors :)

I started off this design with a base of Sally Hansen Silver Sweep. When that was dry I free handed some triangles on using Essie Penny Talk and outlined them with Lime Crime Parfait Day. Lastly I added some yellow lines through the triangles using Lime Crime Crema de Limon and I finished my design off with some Essie Good To Go.

They are a bit strange I suppose but I kind of feel like they are a fun geometric-esque design. Sometimes all it takes is a little bit of doodling to get a fun design on your nails! And sometimes it's just enough to make people to go "huh?" ;) You tell me which situation you think this is!

Bundle Monster Stamping with a touch of Holo

It's time for some more stamping!

I have to admit when I told you guys in one of my previous posts that I was going to go through all of the Bundle Monster 2013 CYO plates I thought it was going to be a LOT easier. I was wrong. Trying to use every single image is proving to be difficult. Some images I just really don't like, but I'm doing my best not to skip out on anything so I'll make it through eventually ;)

But today I've got a design that I do like! It's a tribal-esque, simple triangle / line combo image.

I started with a base of Color Club Eternal Beauty. When it was dry I stamped over it using Bundle Monster's plate BM-402 and Sally Hansen Silver Sweep. I sealed it all in with Essie Good To Go and the design was finished.

I really enjoyed this simple image and the silver / purple color combination. Simple yes, but beautiful too. Though I do have to say trying to get the lines straight across was such a pain in the butt!! ;)

Belated graduation nails

Hey guys!

Man, these nails are LATE! I was supposed to post them in the beginning of June... oops ;) Now I'm not the one that graduated, it's actually my boyfriend's little sister that did. She graduated from high school woooooo! I remember being so damn excited to get out of school I basically ran out those doors. Yeah, I was one of those people who hated school, I got good grades but just hated every second of it. Eh, it's not for everyone I guess. Anyways I knew she was so excited and I just had to create some nails just for the occasion and I knew exactly what to do!! Check out below to see what I decided on :)

Okay so the school colors are white and blue so I knew where to start... With a base of Essie Blanc on all of my nails except my thumb and ring. When they dried I stamped over them using Bundle Monster BM-H23 and Maybelline Color Show Navy Narcissist. I added China Glaze Fairy Dust on top for a little extra sparkle. On my ring and thumbs I started with a base of Sally Hansen InstaDri Silver Sweep. I added two sponged coats of Hard Candy Celebrate Sequins (oh my holo!). And for one final touch I stamped a graduation cap on my thumb with Bundle Monster BM-H23 and Maybelline Color Show Navy Narcissist. I finished off all of my nails with a generous coat of Essie Good To Go

I love these nails SO MUCH! And I really loved how convenient it was that Bundle Monster had a stamping plate with super cute little graduation caps. Oh and my ring finger was seriously blinding in the sunlight, talk about accident causing nails lol!

How about you guys, did you love of hate school?

Thanks loves :)

Sally Hansen Color Foil partial swatches

Hey guys!

Sally Hansen recently came out with their Color Foil collection, a collection of ten "aluminum finish" polishes to give your nails a one-of-a-kind metallic mirror foil finish. I've got three of the ten shades to share with you guys today if you want to take a look!

Now I have to say beforehand that because of the metallic foil finish these polishes have, they are REALLY good at showing every. single. imperfection. -_- My nails have a bit of a wave towards the cuticle, usually you guys can't tell but in these photos you'll be able to see. But the wave is just my nail, it has nothing to do with the polish. The formula however is a bit tricky, because of the metallic finish it dries rather quickly and you have to be careful applying it. So if you work quickly and carefully then you won't have a problem!

Bright blue chrome. Two coats with top coat.

Mint green chrome. Two coats with top coat.

Yellow leaning green gold chrome. This leaned extremely green on me, but other swatches I see around have it looking more gold so I think its just me ;) Two coats with top coat.

Sally Hansen Color Foil collection retails for $6.99USD for a 10mL bottle. These polishes along with so many more colors can be found at www.sallyhansen.com and various retail stores. Stay up to date with new polishes, products, promos, and sales by following Sally Hansen:

Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear Rio Collection partial swatches

Sally Hansen is introducing some new confetti glitter polishes,"With the new Rio collection, head to Brazil's premier party destination anytime with eight color burst sensations. Channeling the bright colors and dazzling sequins of Carnival, throw your own personal masquerade ball with this must-have collection of multi-tones blue, green, and purple glitter palettes." I've got four of the eight pretties to share with you guys so take a look!

I should note that all polishes are swatched on a colored base and they are two coats each applied with a makeup sponge. I found that the glitter was too sparse in the base to get good coverage without making the nail polish way too thick. But applying them with a sponge fixes the problem and lets you see the glittery goodness! Since all of the polishes have the same formula the descriptions may get a bit redundant. ;)

Fiesta - Red, black, and white medium hex glitters in a clear base. Formula was thicker. Two sponged coats over OPI Big Apple Red.

Fruit-ta-ta - Red, pink, white, and black medium hex glitters in a clear base. Formula was thicker. Two sponged coats over Lime Crime Parfait Day.

Samba - Green, blue, and yellow medium hex glitters in a clear base. Formula was thicker. Two sponged coats over Lime Crime Once In A Blue Mousse.

Splash - Royal blue, light blue, and white medium hex glitters in a clear base. Formula was the same as above. Two sponged coats over Color Club In De-Nile.

Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear retails for $2.99USD for an 11.8mL polish. These colors and so many more can be purchased at www.sallyhansen.com and various retail stores. Stay up to date with new polishes, products, promos, and sales by following Sally Hansen:

Primary color block negative space nails

I've been itching to do some more negative space nails and what's more fun then using some bright, bold colors?!

I know these nails don't really look much like negative space nails, trust me I know lol. But there is a tiny little sliver of naked space between each color so I guess that counts right?! I meant to make the spaces bigger but I kept having to go back and straighten out lines and well, this happened ;)

I started with some good old nekkid nails and then took some white acrylic paint and drew out the 'blueprint' of my design. When the paint dried I went back with OPI Big Apple Red, Sally Hansen InstaDri Lightening, Zoya Song, and China Glaze Orange Knockout. I cleaned up the lines and made sure there was still some naked nail showing through and finished off with a generous coat of Essie Good To Go

These nails were so fun to wear! I loved the bright primary (besides orange ;)) colors! I just wish I made the spaces a little wider but oh well, better luck next time right?!

What's your favorite negative space manicure?

Thanks loves :)
