Chevron dots

When lack of inspiration hits it's low point.... we turn to dots!

LOL I did these nails back when I was struggling for nail inspiration, but they actually came out better then I thought they would. Can this even technically be called a chevron though? Hmmmm I hope so or I have no idea what I would call these ;)

I started off with a base of China Glaze Escaping Reality. Then I used Color Club Beyond, Color Club Miss Bliss, and a couple of different sized dotting tools along with a tooth pick to create all of the dots. I finished the design off with a coat of Essie Good To Go

While I didn't know exactly where these nails were going, I quite like the out come. It's a sort of abstract dotted chevron-thingy. Oh.... and it's PINK! So obviously I like it duhhhhhhh ;)

Thanks for reading guys :)

Peaches and Cream dotted and spotted

Ever have one of those days. You know what I'm talking about, those days where you barely have enough time to paint your nails but your base is just DYING for some art? Yeah call me crazy all you want you know you know what I'm talking about!! ;)

Well that happened to me just recently! I was getting ready to go out and I couldn't decide what to paint my nails. Being short on time I figured I would just paint my nails a nice peach and that would be that. WRONG! That peach was just begging me for something, ANYTHING to be added on top. So of course being that nice little nail blogger that I am I obliged ;) I knew it needed to be quick so I grabbed my dotting tools and away I went!

I started off with a base of Lime Crime Peaches <3 Cream. I used three different sized dotting tools to create the dots and I used black and white acrylic paint and China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise. I topped it off with Essie Good To Go and I was ready for the night!

These nails were so quick and easy to create and I got so many compliments on them! Sometimes all it takes are those simple designs to really make people go 'wow'. And I really actually enjoy dotted nail designs, they're so much fun. Oh and you know I'm on a role with these Instagram tutorial videos so make sure you check this one out too ;)

Alright guys I need you! Tell me, what's your favorite dotted nail design?!

Thanks loves :)

Freshly dotted with neon flair

This little blog has most definitely been missing out some dotted designs. That makes me so sad because dotted designs can be so refreshing! They can look sweet and simple or incredibly detailed but one thing stays the same: they are so easy to create!!

So let's get on with these nails!!

I started with a base of Orly Gumdrop on all of my nails. I created the dots with some white acrylic paint, one of my dotting tools, and a toothpick. I sealed in the dots with Essie Good To Go and added a neon pink square stud to each nail from the Born Pretty Store (they can be purchased HERE).

I really really loved this design, I tried to wear it for a long time but sadly the studs decided that they didn't want to stay on for more then a day T.T But I really enjoyed wearing this color combination, I never thought I would like these colors together but I was wrong, they are so fun and I think that they compliment each other quite well.

What's your favorite unexpected color combination?

Thanks loves :)

A Patriotic French

I did two different designs to show you guys for Memorial Day but as you know I forgot to post them -_- I won't let that stop me though!

You've already seen my red, white, and blue watermarble and today I have a simple french with a patriotic flair.

There's nothing quite as refreshing as a clean and crisp french manicure and they're so easy to spice up! I started this design by creating my white tips using Essie Blanc and a clean up brush dipped in acetone to clean up the smile line. When that dried I layered OPI Bubble Bath over everything. I then created the dots using China Glaze Just Be-Claws and So Blue With Out You. I layered China Glaze Fairy Dust over the top for a pretty sparkle! I sealed everything in with some Poshe and the design was finished.

Now that my nails have finally started getting some length again I'm really loving the way french manicures look!

What about you guys? Whats your favorite french manicure combo?

Thanks loves :)

Create A Little Love on Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day Cupcakes! :)

I hope you are all having a wonderful day! Mine's been ehh, I had to work and my boyfriend took a trip to Maine [I live in Massachusetts] with his dad and some friends to go snowmobiling for the weekend so I'm a bit lonely. I won't bore you with the details but we haven't been this far away from each other ever so I'm sad but trying to stay cheerful! Hey, what can ya do right?

Love means something different to every person, to me it's finding that one person you can be completely yourself with, and also someone who makes you want to be a better person, someone who inspires you. I'm so incredibly grateful to have been lucky enough to find that special someone and even though he's four hundred and something miles away, his heart stays here and I know he'll be home soon :) Oooooh muuuuuuushy ;) LOL

So I started with a base of Essie No Baggage Please and used the saran wrap method to add Essie Blanc, Lime Crime Parfait Day, and China Glaze Pool Party. When that was dry I painted the half moons on using Essie Blanc and used a dotting tool to create the 'doily' effect. I added some small dots in the bigger dots using Lime Crime Parfait Day. After that I used Bundle Monster BM-426 and stamped the love letters with L.A. Colors Striping Polish in Black and filled in the empty space with OPI This Gown Needs A Crown. I top coated with some Poshe and the design was finally finished! Whewwwwwww!

Look at those chubby little fingers!! You know what they say, the camera adds ten pounds LOL!

But seriously I have a question for all of you, since my boyfriend is away on a trip will YOU all be my valentines? ;)

Thanks loves :)

New Year's Eve dotticure

The end of 2013 is finally here...

With the new year comes looking back upon the life we've lived the year before and new resolutions for the year ahead. Me? I have to say I'm more then ready to see 2013 go. I seem to reflect a lot around this time of year and they don't say 13 is unlucky for nothing. This year has been the luckiest unlucky year of my life (if that makes any sense ;)). 2013 has been the biggest life changing year I've had. My ex-boyfriend of 5 years committed suicide in February and that was the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with. I went from being on top of the world to having nothing. Then when I tried to make something from all of the nothing his family turned on me. There was a whole lot on my plate, and no one to help me clean it. But it made me a stronger person and through the pain I found something precious, love. I found someone who takes my pain and fears away and always knows the right thing to say when I'm feeling like the world is crushing me. He is honestly the most caring, thoughtful, and loving man I have ever met and I consider myself one of the luckiest girls alive. I'm sure you all don't want to hear the sappy ;) but there's something very special about him, he's the one who showed me how to smile and laugh again when I thought I never would. He is the one who shoved me in the right direction and inspired me to follow my dreams; dreams that lead me to getting my nail tech license and never letting me give up on this blog. He knows me, and he knows what I love most, nail polish!

Speaking of nail polish, I'm sure you guys are done listening to my little reflection so let's move on to what you're here for! For my New Year's Eve manicure I wanted to do something a little different from the usual, black, gold, and silver... even though I absolutely love that combination! I've been feeling teal colors lately so I decided to switch out the silver for some teal and I haven't done a dotticure in far too long so I'm going to fit one more in before the year is finished!

I started with a base of Wet'n'Wild Black Creme. When that was dry I added the dots using China Glaze Mingle With Kringle and Zoya Zuza. For my ring I made a stripe of China Glaze Mingle With Kringle down the center of my nail and lined it with Zoya Zuza on either side. Then with acrylic paint I painted "MMXIV" [2014 in roman numerals]. I top coated it all with Poshe and I'm ready to partay!! ;)

And here's a little extra picture, just because I'm in the sappy mood ;) When my boyfriend asked me out he actually painted it on his short little nails in pink polish! He used China Glaze Pool Party, my favorite neon pink! Awwwwww ;) Excuse the poor condition of his hands, he's a diesel mechanic and this is about as clean as they get with scrubbing LOL!

2013 has come and almost gone, I'm much stronger then I was when it started and I'm jumping into 2014 and chasing my dreams. Who knows, maybe I'll catch some this year ;)

Thanks for always sticking it out with me guys, my blog is a source of true happiness for me and I hope that sometimes I can brighten your day too. :)

What's your New Year's resolution?

Nail art with China Glaze Glistening Snow

Good morning everyone! :)

I'm trusting we all made it through Monday? I'm pretty excited to show you guys my nails today. I picked up China Glaze Glistening Snow along with a few others like almost two weeks ago and I'm just getting around to use it now!! The horror!!! I've been meaning to but just haven't found the right opportunity grrr. BUT that's all in the past because here she is in all her sparkly glory!!! :)

I had this really cool idea for some art and for once it transferred well to my nail :) The interlocking dot mani seems to be pretty popular, I've done two already as most of you know! I even did one two days ago lol! Well anyways I thought... what if we make the dots reallllly small? So of course that's what I did! Lookie! :)

Colors used:
- Sinful Colors Black on Black
- China Glaze Glistening Snow

I tried to get my thumb in there for you guys because it was my favorite!! But damn it hurt my hand! Haha and you guys know I couldn't just leave well enough alone... It needs more dots!!! ;) Check out the final result!

O.O So spotty and sparkly I can't handle it! My pictures don't do Glistening Snow justice, it has holo in it too but it decided to be shy lol! Man what a beautiful polish it is though!

So what do you guys think?

Thanks for reading and hopefully I can get my giveaway up tonight or tomorrow night :)

Moar dots please!!!

Good morning lovelies :)

So yesterday was supposed to be my polish day... I planned to sit all day and just paint my nails so I could get a few manis built up :) OF COURSE though I fell in love with the first design I did... the purple nails you all saw yesterday... so I wore them all day. I couldn't even bear to take them off last night -_- So I did what any polish addict would do.... grabbed my mom and made her let me paint her nails ;) LOL Just kidding she really actually wanted me to!  She really liked my interlocking dots design so I figured I'd recreate it on her nails using some different colors. The color combo we picked is actually something I wouldn't have put together myself but I'm totally in love with it!!

Colors used:
- Sinful Colors Dancing Nails
- China Glaze Fast Track

My mom's nails grow SO fast and photograph SO good I'm super jealous :( But she sure makes for a good hand model LOL. I can't wait to use this color combo again I don't know about you guys but I think it's really beautiful :)

So what do you think?

Thanks for reading! :)

The Lazy 15: Feminine Nails

Good morning! :)

Today's challenge for the Lazy 15 is Feminine Nails.... so there's about to be some more pink nails up in here!!! LOL The first thing that comes to my mind when I think feminine is pink! So me and my little nubblins sat down pretty late last night and painted up some pink ruffly feminine nails :) Although because I did them so late they aren't my best work but I still really like them! Take a look :)

Colors used:
- Maybelline Wet Shine H2O Pink
- Sally Girl Hot pink (812157?)

Lost my ruffle toward the end on my middle finger LOL
I used Chalkboard Nails' tutorial again for ruffle nails but I just turned them sideways :) And of course the darker pink is actually a beautiful neon pink and my camera refused to acknowledge that... the woes of photographing neons ;)

They kind of remind me of stripe-y pants.... not sure why haha!

Anyways what do you guys think?

Thanks for reading and you have to check everyone else out! :)

Ruffles and some more ruffles!

Happy Sunday everyone!!

So today, as promised, I have a free hand design for you guys woooooo!!! For the longest time I've been wanting to try Chalkboard Nails' ruffle manicure (click HERE to see her awesome tutorial!!) I had some extra time yesterday so I decided to give it a try :) So take a look!!

Colors used:
- Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Snappy Sorbet
- Sally Hansen Heart of Stone
- Petites Baby Blue

I thought this design would get really thick on my nails because there are so many layers of dots but it actually didn't. I was very pleasantly surprised about that and I'll definitely try this design again :)

So what do you guys think?

Also, I'm starting to prepare for my 100 follower giveaway!!! I'm getting so close so watch out for it because it's going to be a good one ;) (if I can figure out how to use rafflecopter haha!)
