HNAC Day 10: Candy Corn Yum!

Hello hello!!

Alright today is day 10 of the Halloween Nail Art Challenge by Glitter Obsession and it's candy corn! As soon as I read this prompt I knew exactly what I wanted to do: a gradient! Woo!!! Surprise! :) This one gave me a harder time on the clean up I think because the orange was so pigmented but oh well it's so pretty I don't even care!! Take a look :)

Colors used:
- Finger Paints Paper Mache
- Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow
- Sally Hansen Crushed
- Claire's Glow in the Dark

I picked up one of Claire's Glow in the Dark polishes while out shopping yesterday, you can kind of see the glitter that it has in it :) I was really hopeful the the glow in the dark would work really well because I don't have any glow and the dark and let me tell you it didn't disappoint! Unfortunately I couldn't get it to photograph no matter how hard I tried -_- so you'll just have to take my word for it :)

Oh and just so you know I am aware that the colors are out of order.....now -__- Oh well! :)

So what do you guys think??

Thanks for reading and make sure you check out all of the other challengers below!!! :)
*UPDATED* Got the code fr you guys here it is :)

Breast Cancer Awareness

Hi all!

So first off I want to say sorry that this post has taken so long to put up, I wanted to put it up in the very beginning of October but with two challenges this month things are a little bit hectic... so sorry!!! But as many of you know October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Most of us have been or will be touched by Breast Cancer at some point in our lives whether it's us personally or someone close to us. By raising awareness we can hopefully one day conquer Breast Cancer for good and never have to worry about it again!! So I present to you my Breast Cancer Awareness mani :)

Colors used:
- Finger Paints Paper Mache
- Sally Girl Hot Pink

Looks like I've got me some pink cuticles... oops!!

Nice and simple and straight to the point :) I really like how these came out not to mention that Sally Girl in Hot Pink is one of my favorite colors ever! It's even brighter in person!! I have a few more of these manis up my sleeve so you guys will be seeing some more pink here in October... you can never have enough pink you know :)

So what do you guys think??

Thanks for reading!! :)

Yay for Bundle Monster!!

Hello and good morning everyone!

I got my first set of Bundle Monster plates!!!!! I've been wanting to buy some for a while but just didn't want to spend the money on them :( I'm cheap I know :)  Well Bundle Monster recently came out with a Halloween Nail Art Contest but the catch is you have to use a Bundle Monster product in the manicure.... sooooo I bought some plates so I could enter the contest! I wonder if we can shamelessly ask for votes on our blogs? Hmm I'll have to ask :)

SO ANYWAYS, can I just say how impressed I am with Bundle Monster shipping? I ordered my plates on the 2nd of October and they came in last night on the 5th! Seriously? Free shipping and it only took 3 days? WOW! I ended up buying the 2011 set because they had some nice halloween-y designs on them that I will end up using :)

Ok let's get to today mani... I was just playing around with the plates and different polishes so I can see which polishes of mine are good for stamping and I created this! I used BM-205 :)

Colors used:
- Finger Paints Paper Mache
- China Glaze Agro

A little flash so you guys can see the pretty shimmer :)

Excuse the dried up cuticles :( with two halloween challenges this October I'm changing my polish more then ever so they are getting a little abused :( But I'm having so much fun with the challenges!!

So what do you guys think?
Oh and next week I'm going to start my Disney Days! If you didn't read my other post, once a week, most likely on a Wednseday (not set in stone), I'm going to post a manicure for different disney movies. I absolutely love disney movies :) If anyone wants to do it with me please email me at: kjones622@hotmail.com and I'll tell you what next week's movie is. I'd love to have some people join in with me but I'll still post by myself if I have to :) It will be fun guys!!!

Thanks for reading enjoy your Saturday :)

It's here! It's here!!!!!!

My plate from vivid lacquer has arriveddddd!!!!!
Can you tell I'm excited? :)
*warning picture heavy*

Good morning everyone!!

As you read above, I bought Vivid Lacquer's VL001 plate and it came in the mail yesterday and I just could NOT wait to try the lovely designs out!! This is my first real stamping plate and it does not disappoint! I've always heard such great things about Anni and all of her products over at Vivid Lacquer :) I mean just look at the plate!

SO SHINY :)

What a cute back!

I've done two designs so far! :) The first mani I did with these plates is a Halloween plaid style, appropriate right? :) Since it's my first real attempt any mess-ups is completely because of me the plate is perfection!

Colors used:
- Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Snappy Sorbet
- Finger Paints Paper Mache
- Sally Hansen Black Out

So it's peach and not orange..... close enough :)

This next mani is a recreation of the first design I ever saw using the VL001 plate and is ultimately the reason I wanted to get the plate so badly. And of course now that I'm looking for it I can't find it online so if and of you guys know the original creator of this please let me know who it is so I can credit them :) Take a look!

Colors used:
- Finger Paints Paper Mache
- Sally Hansen Black Out
- Ms Pedicure Red

Tell me that's not adorable!!! I fell in love with this mani the minute I laid my eyes on it the first time and just knew if I ever got my hands on this plate I would have to recreate it!

So what do you guys think?? I know I'm definitely going to buy some more plates from Vivid Lacquer, current there are four plates total, click the link to go to her etsy shop!

Thanks for reading everyone :)

Simple and subtle

Hello everyone!

I've got a nice and simple design for you guys today, a dotticure! I love the way this design came out almost like lace and in this case less is definitely better, I tried to make it look more like lace and can I just say thank god I stopped and took pictures here lol. Take a look!

Colors used:
- China Glaze Fast Track I just LOVE this color guys it's a beautiful light brown/ nude packed with gold shimmer. Its so dreamy :)
- Finger Paints Paper Mache

This look was really easy to create. I just used the end of a paint brush to create the bigger dots and a toothpick to create the smaller dots and that's it! Simple and subtle and most definitely work appropriate!

What do you guys think??

I'm a winner!!!

Hi everyone!

I have some awesome Essence swatches for you guys today because I won a giveaway!! Woohoo *happy dance* :) So a while back I decided to enter Lauriestrodes one year blogiversary giveaway over at Lauristrodes Fun With Nails and I won which was so awesome because usually I don't win anything ever :) A couple of days ago my package arrived in the mail and I just couldn't wait to swatch the polishes for you guys! So heres my package plus swatches!

My winners note... Isn't she sweet? :)

Some candy that looks absolutely delicious! It looks kind of like taffy :)

And here's the polishes! From left to right, Essence Time for Romance, Space Queen, Circus Confetti, Choose Me!, and Make it Golden

First up is Essence Time for Romance. This is a beautiful polish packed with tiny glitter and hexagon maroon glitter. The polish itself is a little thick but not too hard to work with. Below I layered one coat of Time for Romance over one coat of Finger Paints Paper Mache. I layered it over white so you all can really see the polish itself.

Super pretty right? I bet this would look so pretty layered over black or a dark maroon :)

This is Essence Space Queen a beautiful baby pink polish with what almost looks like tiny holographic glitter but with a pink hue. This polish is wicked pretty in real life but it was very shy on camera :( The polish was actually really easy to work with. Below you'll see one coat of Space Queen layered over one coat of Finger Paints Paper Mache.

See what I mean about it being shy? You can't see it like at all :( But take my word for it that it's so much prettier in person! I actually like this color over white but I think I would put a few more layers to see if I could build up some of that pretty baby pink :)

Next up is Essence Circus Confetti. This is a special effects topper and let me just tell you that it is such a glitter bomb like woah!!! I think it has every color small hexagon glitter and it really is packed in that little bottle! The polish was kind of thick but I expected that with all of that glitter. Below I layered one, yes one, coat of Essence Circus Confetti over one coat of Sally Hansen Black Out.

Look at all of that glitter! Its so beautiful! I put this on and was so sad I had to take it off to swatch some more polishes :( I bet when dry this is a pain in the butt to get off though I think I'm going to have to invest in some elmer's glue before I wear this one again :)

Ok this one is my favorite of the bunch I mean just look at that color! Essence Choose Me! is a teal leaning yellow/green polish with a beautiful shimmer. And the polish was so smooth going on! Unfortunately the yellow/green tint didn't really translate too much onto my nail but who cares?! This polish is to die for! Below is three thin-ish coats of Essence Choose Me!

Gorgeous right?? And it dries so shiny too! I wore this one for a couple of hours which is a lot for me :) That must mean something right?!

Last up we have Essence Make it Golden which is a pretty gold polish with tiny glitter and small hexagon glitter in gold. It has about the same consistency as Time for Romance. This polish is really pretty and you can't really see in the pictures but there is a slight gold shimmer on my nail as well it really is quite pretty :) Below I've layered one coat of Essence Make it Golden over one coat of Finger Paints Paper Mache.

This kind of reminds me of the popcorn flavored jellybeans :) I never liked that flavor but fortunately I love it on my nails!

So thats it! What do you guys think? Do you love these polishes as much as I do?

I also want to give a big shout out and thanks to Lauriestrode for giving me these amazing polishes. Her blog is awesome too you guys should check it out!
