Christmas Eve-icure

What the heck?

How did Christmas sneak up on me so quickly!?!? There are so many Christmas nail designs to be done that will never get done!! T.T I really don't even understand! *sigh* Christmas slow down please!

At least I have a design for Christmas Eve Day right?!

I started this look with a bast of Azature White on all or my nails. On the striped nails I used striping tape with China Glaze Santa Red My List, China Glaze Con-Fused?, and China Glaze Angel Wings. For my thumb and ring finger I did a glitter gradient using China Glaze Angel Wings and then applied a red and green rhinestone to the top. I topped is all off with some Poshe and the design was finished!

Totally digging this look! I'm so sad I have to take it off but sadly I haven't even thought about what my Christmas nails are going to be so I must find time today to figure them out! Suggestions welcome!!! :)

I hope you are all having a wonderful Christmas season and hopefully you're more prepared then I am!! ;)

Let's put this in the spotlight!

Can I just take a second here and talk about something important... NAIL POLISH! ;) My work had our Christmas dinner the other week and every year we do a secret santa swap. It's no secret there that I'm obsessed with nail polish so who would have thought that my secret santa would get me polish?!? Not I! ;)

Among other polish pretties that I was given, there is a real gem in here. OPI Fresh Frog of Bel Air, while not a new polish but new to me, is a gorgeous mix of green micro glitters and silver large hex glitters and it is just everything I wanted is a green glitter! I knew I wanted to layer it over a white to red gradient... but I forgot to take in to account that the white and red would turn pink... Christmas FAIL -_-

But I persevere, I still very much liked this combination so Christmassy or not you still get to see it :)

I started with a base of Azature White and sponged using that white and Dior Marilyn. I dabbed one coat of OPI Fresh Frog of Bel Air and top coated with Poshe and it was finished!

Ooooooh sparkly!!! The photographs really don't show how gorgeous this polish really is but it's a small glimpse into the green sparkly abyss!

Until next time lovelies!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my little turkeys that celebrate!! :)

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, food and family always go so well together! You know what else goes great together? Teddy bear pilgrims and turkeys!! Yes, you heard [read?] me right! LOL! I wanted to do some cool nail art for Thanksgiving and I saw THIS photo online and knew I had to use it as inspiration!

I started with a gradient of Azature White and Pure Ice Gold Dust. I painted the teddy bear pilgrim and turkey using acrylic paints and the leaf designs with China Glaze Harvest Moon. I used NYC Matte Me Crazy for a flat finish and viola! Finished :)

AND you guys get a special Thanksgiving treat, my 'Cinderella hand' ;) My nails are super short on my right hand because I broke one yesterday :( But oh well I loved this design too much to resist!!

What do you think?!

I like to take times like these and reflect on what I'm grateful for. I'm so grateful for my family, friends, and my boyfriend but there is another thing, or things, that takes a special place in my heart. I am so truly grateful for all of YOU. Every one of you that comes here and reads my little blog are the reason I do what I do. I paint my nails because I want to share with all of you my love for polish. Your comments and just the pure fact that you stick with me through all of my ramblings and my slightly crazy moments makes all of the time I put in to this blog worth it. I don't ever want to take any of you for granted because without all of you this blog wouldn't be the source of true happiness that it is. So thank YOU from the bottom of my heart :)

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and I hope you stop by again soon ;)

Thanks lovelies!

Mish Mash Challenge: Card or Board Game

Hello cupcakes!!

Can I just say that I am super pumped that I'm actually getting this post up on time ;) I hope you are all having a wonderful Wednesday and maybe preparing for Thanksgiving tomorrow?? All I know is I'm SO ready to stuff my face with some turkey and all the fixings!! LOL!

Anyways on to the mish mash challenge! Today's theme is card or board game. I really wanted to do some Sorry nails but I was multitasking when I was doing these trying to figure out my Thanksgiving nails so I went with something a little easier: LIFE nails :) Now I've never actually played the game LIFE but the cover of the board game was super pretty and I instantly knew what I wanted to do.

I started this design with a gradient of Azature White and Orly Gumdrop on all of my nails besides my thumb. On my thumb I started with a base of Lime Crime Crema de Limon. All of the other details were painted on using acrylic paint. I used Poshe as a top coat and I was finished!

I ended up really liking this design. It's simple and really colorful! And not that the game has anything to do with it, I like it too because I'm finally getting my life back in order and it's kind of a bright little happy message on my nails :)

I hope you all have a wonderful day! I'm going to start working on my Thanksgiving nails shortly after I post this so look for some awesome nails on the blog tomorrow ;) And while you're here make sure you check out everyone else's card or board game nails!!

See ya later loves!

Supah Supah Late Mish Mash Challenge: Grey

fjlcsbjklvdajvdfjnkvalkjlnrkl!!!!!!!!!!!

HELLO!

Ack I'm so sorry guys! I told you I wouldn't run away and then what did I do? Got up and ran away -_- I truly am sorry that I haven't posted guys, this past week that I've been gone I was struggling with some personal issues, nothing bad, just basically life decided to pile up and slap me in the face. I just had to take a step back, do some deep breathing, and put me first again [and a good cry session never hurt anyone ;)]. I hated being away from the blog because you guys don't know how important this blog is to me. All of you lovely readers, whether you comment or not, are the reason I do this. You all are what keep me going and it makes me sad when I can't be here. But not to worry I'm back and better then ever! Enough with the mushy stuff now it's time for some super late mish mash nails!!!

I've literally been trying to get these up since Wednesday but I haven't had a moment to spare! The theme for this week was gray and I knew exactly what I wanted to do. Among all of the very talented nail artists on instagram THIS manicue from @kgrdnr has made me drool ever since I saw it. I really wanted to do it in pink but alas, grey is the theme so it will have to do ;) I'm really happy with the way these turned out so make sure you take a look :)

I started with a base of Azature White and then sponged on the gradient using the same and ELF Misty Haze. Then I used gray acrylic paint to paint on the design. For my accent nail I used OPI This Gown Needs A Crown and placed a pearl at the base.

I've got to say I love this! It doesn't do justice to @kgrdnr's original design but I'm definitely still happy with it.

So thanks again for sticking with me everyone!! Muah!!! <3

From ruined to revived

Hi chickies

So what do you do when you aren't happy with a design??? You stamp over it of course! ;) Just the other day I showed you THIS design, and while I liked it it came out super thick and I messed it up almost immediately after I took photos of it. I really loved the way the gradient came out so I decided to do a quick fix.

I removed the black chevrons off of my middle, ring, and thumb nail. I repainted the half and half design with Lime Crime Pastelchio and Once in a Blue Mousse. Then I stamped over them with L.A Colors  Striping Polish in Black using Bundle Monster plate BM-201.

The change took me about a half and hour from start to finish and I'm super pleased with the outcome :) So hey, there's no such thing as a ruined manicure, just new opportunities! ;)

How about you guys? What do you do to fix a mani that gets smudged?
Thanks loves :)

Pumpkin gradient-ed claws

Hello pumpkins!

Speaking of pumpkins... Halloween is never complete without at least one pumpkin manicure am I right?! I'm hoping to be able to create one or so more pumpkin manicure before the hallows-eve is upon us ;)

But let's talk about this one shall we?

I started off with a base of Wet'n'Wild Black Creme. When that was dry I taped off triangles in the middle of my nail and did one coat of Azature White. Then I sponged a gradient over that using China Glaze Bizarre Blurple and Orange Knockout. I drew the pumpkins on using acrylic paint. A little Poshe top coat and it was finished!

Look at me getting all creative and stuff with my pictures! ;)

And here's a bonus 'before' picture right before the pumpkins were painted on :) I love this "claw" look!

What do you think? Do you love Halloween? What's your favorite part??

And don't forget guys my One-Year Birthday Bash Multi-Blogger GIVEAWAY is ending SOON! Make sure you get your entries in!!!! Just click the link above :)

Thanks loves!

Mish Mash Challenge: Triangle

Hi chickies!

I can't believe it's October already!! Where has the year gone? I guess I can't deny fall anymore *sniff sniff* bye bye summer :( But it is wednesday so at least there's a mish mash challenge to cheer me up right?! This weeks theme is triangle. I couldn't figure out what to do so I just kind of winged it until I came up with something I liked and man, I really like these!

I started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and created a gradient on top of that with Lime Crime Peaches <3 Cream, Lime Crime Parfait Day, and Kiss Striper Polish in Soft Blue. When that was dry I freehanded the triangle/swirly thing on top with black acrylic paint. Some Poshe top coat on top and the design was finished!

I really like the whole abstract, illusion-y look of these nails. I hope they are triangle enough for you guys!

Don't forget to check out everyone's triangle designs for today!
Thanks so much loves :)

The wild thing

Hi loves!

I've got a short and sweet post for you guys today.

Remember my gradient from the other day?? Yeah well we all know I couldn't just leave it like that. I took out my stamping plates and took a look through them and when I saw the zebra pattern I realized that this little blog has been way lacking in the animal print department. I can't figure out why since I LOVE anything animal print! ;)

Anyways I started this manicure off with my gradient from the other day using Color Club Kismet and Eternal Beauty. Then I used L.A Colors striping polish in Black and stamped using BM- 223. Top coat with Poshe and it was done!

SPARKLE!!!! ;)
Love love love this! Zebra print has always been my favorite and I love the way it looks over a gradient like this.

What about you guys? What's your favorite animal print?

Mish Mash Challenge: Least Expensive Polish(es)

Oh hi guys! :)

Today is Wednesday and that means another Mish Mash Challenge day! Would you all hate me if I cheated just a teensie bit? O.O The theme for today is least expensive polishes. Now technically the two polishes I used today are not the least expensive I own by any means. BUT my mother gifted these to me so technically they were free right? ;) Ugh it's a bit of a stretch but I painted one of my favorite designs ever on my nails yesterday and I just couldn't bear to take them off so I took a little search through my archives and found this baby just begging to be posted!

I started this manicure off with a base of Color Club Kismet. Then I sponged Color Club Eternal Beauty to create the gradient. I top coated with some Poshe and I was finished!

I just love using Color Club holos for gradients they are so much fun!!

I hope you guys don't hate me too much :( Make sure you check out everyone else because I know their nails will be awesome!!
Thanks so much lovlies!

Inspiration Nation: Glitter Tips

Hey chickies!

Ready for another Inspiration Nation post? My inspiration this time comes from another blogger that I follow like... religiously lol! She's super sweet and her nails are always flawless! Not to mention she's so talented!! I'm talking about the lovely Marta from Chit Chat nails :) Marta is pretty well known for her skittlette manis but she does something else that I really love.. faded glitter tips! She's done a bunch of them and every time I see one I drool all over my keyboard! She's actally written up a tutorial for how she does them too.

To start this mani I did two coats of an unnamed sheer pink polish... It was just one of those weird ones I got in a package at some store. But it works great to make my nails look unstained so I'll take it! ;) Then I took a make up sponge and ripped it in half so I had a little bit of a jagged edge. I do this so the color gradient part isn't such a straight, cut off line. Then I did the gradient tip with Zoya Zuza, a beautiful shimmery teal. When that was dry it took Orly Mermaid Tale and placed the glitter from the tip of my nail all the way to the middle. Finish off with some top coat and you're good to go!

Not only is the final result super pretty but it's actually really easy and not time consuming. Tips like these will definitely be making a repeat appearance on Pink & Polished so I hope you like them! ;)

Thanks loves!

Adding some love

Cupcakes!!!

Remember my super holographic gradient from the other day? Well I decided that it wasn't quite holographic enough ;) Since I always love the way a gradient looks after you stamp over it I wanted to give it a try and figured you can never have enough of holographic polishes!

After I did my gradient with Color Club Kismet and Over the Moon, I took Color Club Beyond, a stunning black holographic, and stamped over the gradient using BM-322 from Bundle Monster's 2012 nail plate set. Some more Poshe top coat and this mani is done!

I have to say, I loved the gradient alone... but the stamping adds so much more to it. I think I wore these nails for a good 5 days before I even thought about taking them off. This has got to be one of my top 10 favorite nails I have ever done!

What do you think about stamping over a gradient? Pretty or just too much?
