31DC2014 Day 6: Violet

I've almost made a week of the 31 day challenge woohooooo!!! ;)

Truth be told I'm already struggling T.T I did this mani last night at almost midnight... so sorry it's not the best LOL! I've been so crazy getting ready to open my business (which I'll be doing TODAY at 2pm EST!!!!!) I haven't had any time to paint my nails :( But the challenge must go on and so shall I!

I started this design off with Maybelline Color Show Iced Queen. Then I stamped over it using Color Club Eternal Beauty and one of my Bundle Monster plates, forgive me I can't remember which! I topped it all off with some Essie Good To Go and the design was finished!

Yes, they aren't the best, but when all else fails stamping is definitely the way to go! I hope I can find time to catch up with my manis after I launch my store. We'll see though ;) Make sure you stick around I'll have swatches of my fall collection "Welcome To The Country Fair" coming up soon!!

31DC2014 Day 4: Green

What do you think of when you think of green? Limes? Grapes? Leaves? Clovers or watermelons?

Me? The first thing that always comes to my mind is luscious green grass. And that's exactly what I did for day three of the 31DC2014, green grass, with flowers of course!

Now, there's actually quite a few green polishes used here but you can't really tell! I started off with a base of Blackheart Beauty Jealous Type. When it was dry I used OPI You Are So Outta Lime!, China Glaze Con-Fused?, China Glaze Running In Circles, Maybelline Color Show Tenacious Teal and a small nail art brush to add tiny vertical dashes all over the nails until I filled them completely. I sandwiched all it in with another thin coat of Blackheart Beauty Jealous Type so you could just see bits and pieces poking through. Then I took white acrylic paint and Lime Crime Crema De Limon to create the daisies on top. I sealed it all in with some Essie Good To Go and the design was finished.

I can almost smell that fresh cut grass when I look at these nails! And I'm really happy with how the base turned out.

Okay it's your turn! Post the link to your post for the 31DC2014 Day 4: green in the comments!

Blue Clouds

I was feeing rather "blue" the other day... as in, I was craving some blue polish!! ;) So I decided to peruse google for some inspiration and I saw quite a few cloud manicures and I realized that I haven't done one in such a long time.

Now that just ain't right! ;)

So why not get the best of both worlds, blue AND cloud nails!

I started off with a base of Color Club In De-Nile. After that I created the first 'cloud' with Color Club Over The Moon. Then I created the second 'cloud' with Maybelline Color Show Navy Narcissist. Finally I sealed everything in with some Essie Good To Go and the design was finished!

I forgot how much I truly enjoyed the look of a cloud manicure. And really they are so easy to create! You don't even need any fancy tools, just polish and the brush that comes with it.

When was the last time you created a cloud manicure? Maybe it's time for another one!

Navy french tips with white baby dots

French tipped nails have to be some of my favorite designs to create. Something about that crisp smile line just makes me all giddy inside ;) LOL

Want to get started?

Okay to start off these fun blue nails I used OPI Bubble Bath to have a great base. When it dried completely I used hole reinforcement stickers, cut them in half, and placed them on my nails. I used Maybelline Color Show Navy Narcissist and painted the french tip. I removed the hole reinforcement stickers and used a toothpick and white acrylic paint to create the tiny dots. I sealed it all in with a coat of Essie Good To Go to finish.

You can customize french tip nails so many different ways by using different colors or adding fun designs on top. But one thing is certain, french tips will always be a classic no mater how you dress them up.

What's your favorite french tipped design?

Belated graduation nails

Hey guys!

Man, these nails are LATE! I was supposed to post them in the beginning of June... oops ;) Now I'm not the one that graduated, it's actually my boyfriend's little sister that did. She graduated from high school woooooo! I remember being so damn excited to get out of school I basically ran out those doors. Yeah, I was one of those people who hated school, I got good grades but just hated every second of it. Eh, it's not for everyone I guess. Anyways I knew she was so excited and I just had to create some nails just for the occasion and I knew exactly what to do!! Check out below to see what I decided on :)

Okay so the school colors are white and blue so I knew where to start... With a base of Essie Blanc on all of my nails except my thumb and ring. When they dried I stamped over them using Bundle Monster BM-H23 and Maybelline Color Show Navy Narcissist. I added China Glaze Fairy Dust on top for a little extra sparkle. On my ring and thumbs I started with a base of Sally Hansen InstaDri Silver Sweep. I added two sponged coats of Hard Candy Celebrate Sequins (oh my holo!). And for one final touch I stamped a graduation cap on my thumb with Bundle Monster BM-H23 and Maybelline Color Show Navy Narcissist. I finished off all of my nails with a generous coat of Essie Good To Go

I love these nails SO MUCH! And I really loved how convenient it was that Bundle Monster had a stamping plate with super cute little graduation caps. Oh and my ring finger was seriously blinding in the sunlight, talk about accident causing nails lol!

How about you guys, did you love of hate school?

Thanks loves :)

Design Seeds inspired watermarble

So I forget which blog I read this on, but they mentioned something about this site called Design Seeds. Clearly curiosity killed that cat and I couldn't live with myself if I didn't check it out and I'm so glad that I did.

Design Seeds is a color palette site. It shows you what colors work well together and helps give you inspiration for different color combinations. It has been my saving grace! I always used to have trouble trying to figure out what colors went well together and what colors did not. As a result I usually mixed colors with neutrals and it made me sad because I would always see these beautiful colorful manis everywhere and just wanted mine to be that colorful! Well now, with the help of Design Seeds my manicures will me more colorful then ever ;)

It's funny I say that though because this particular design only combines one color and a bunch of neutrals.... hey they can't all be crazy right?! LOL! Let's get on with it shall we?

I started with a base of Lime Crime Milky Ways for the base of my water marble. Then I marbled using Maybelline Color Show Clear, Essie Penny Talk, Orly Gumdrop, and Zoya Zuza. I really love how Essie Penny Talk separated, I think all metallic polishes may do that, but it creates such a cool effect! I sealed it all in with some Essie Good To Go and the design was finished.

I really enjoyed the look of this watermarble, it's so unique. And so what if the lines aren't perfectly smooth! That's what gives it character ;)

What's your favorite watermarble color combination?

Thanks loves :)

Summer Neon Gradient and Watermarble

I don't know where you guys are but I live in MA and man, it's been a cold spring! I keep waiting and waiting for that warm weather to no avail. But I think we may have finally gotten past the road block!

Summer is finally here and with the warm weather comes neon nail polish. I don't know what it is about neon polish that just makes you feel so summery but I absolutely love it!

I started with a base of Essie Blanc so my colors would really pop. Then I created the gradient using China Glaze Pool Party and Orly Highlighter. When that dried I created the watermarble over it using Essie Blanc and Maybelline Color Show Clear. I top coated them with Essie Good To Go and just because I love mattifying neons I added NYC Matte Me Crazy over everything. LOVE!

Oh summer how I've missed you so! Please never leave again okay???

What's your favorite season?

Thanks loves :)

Under the sea

Undah da sea! Undah da sea!
When da sardine
Begin da beguine
It's music to me!

Now someone tell me what song this is! ;) And tell me you had to sing it in his voice, because you know I did.

My design today is inspired by an inhabitant of the sea, an octopus! I've always been so intrigued but the octopus, why I'm not certain, they are just beautiful creatures. Yeah I know, point and laugh at the weirdo it's okay <-- LOL

No let's get on to the nails! I started out with a base of Color Club Over the Moon and stamped over it using two images on plate BM-401 and Maybelline Color Show Navy Narcissist. I added in some bubbles with some white acrylic paint and Color Club Over the Moon. Finally a layer of Poshe to seal everything in finished up the design.

These nails were so quick to create and the final product was worthy to be 10,000 leagues under the sea ;)

I gotta know, what's your favorite sea creature?
Thanks loves :)

I'm bringing home a baby bumble bee!

Won't my momma be so proud of me! ;)

I've been itching to do a bumble bee design ever since I saw the cute honeycomb image in Bundle Monster's 2013 collection, and yes, it has taken me this long to do it LOL. But regardless it's done and I'm in love! I almost don't even care the the bees remind me a bit of spiders.... almost. I just couldn't look at them too quick or else I freaked out! I mean they don't really look like spiders, that much. But legs and wings and thin lines can often be mistaken as a furry little eight legged creature that I'm too scared to even squish! Yeah, yeah I know I'm a weenie WHATEVER :)

Let's just get to the nails shall we?

I started off with a base of Lime Crime Crema di Limon. When that was dry I stamped over it with BM-422 using Maybelline Color Show Bold Gold. Then I used L.A Colors Black and BM-401 for the little bumble bees, I just stamped them in different directions. I top coated everything with Poshe and the design was finished!

This nail design was super fun to wear on my nails! It looks so complicated but it's really quite simple to do. Have you done any bumble bee nails? Link them in my comments and I'll check them out!!

Thanks so much loves :)

I love nails!

I've decided to take on a new venture.

Often times I find myself sitting down at my desk, getting ready to paint my nails and then.... NOTHING. Absolutely nothing comes to my mush of a brain. And then I sit there, and sit there, and hey, I sit there some more! It gets so frustrating because I just want to paint my nails but for the life of me I can't think of what to paint. So, to solve that problem I've decided that every time I'm lacking "nailspiration" I'm going to take one of my Bundle Monster nail plates and do 5 or so designs using every image on that plate. Difficult? Challenge accepted ;) It's a good way to keep the creative juices flowing and I encourage everyone to try it! My designs won't be solely stamping, just here and there to fill in what my brain can't :)

Now, on to the design! The first plate I picked is BM-401 and what a fitting plate! There's an image on it that says "I <3 nails" and come on, could it get any more perfect?

I started the design off with a base of Ruby Wing Kitten Heels. When that was dry I painted on the nail polish bottles with black acrylic paint and filled them in using China Glaze So Blue Without You, Azature Light Blue, and Color Club Over the Moon. Then I stamped my ring finger with plate BM-401 and Maybelline Color Show Navy Narcissist. I added a generous layer of Poshe to seal everything in.

I really quite enjoyed this look it was super fun and easy and I got so many comments on them LOL!

What do you guys do when you're lacking "nailspiration"?
Thanks loves :)

A special birthday celebration!

I just love birthdays don't you? I mean my birthday is my favorite ;) But I really love all birthdays, it gives you a reason to get all dressed up and go out and have a great time with the birthday boy/girl. Who wouldn't love that?!

Speaking of birthdays... someone special just turned 21! My baby of a boyfriend (yes I'm older than him LOL) turned the big 2-1 on April 30th and I have to say we all had such an amazing time!

I know this post is kind of late but hey, what do I always say? Better late then never right? And there's no way I wasn't going to show you guys these nails!

I told Tylor (the bf) he could decide what I wore on my nails for his birthday and the first words out of his mouth were "fire-chicken!" I know you guys won't get it lol but at his house we call everything chicken and he had just recently picked up an 85 Fire Bird that has the huge bird-logo-thing on the front and of course he wanted me to paint them on my nails. -_- <- that was literally the face I made at him LOL I was on a limited time schedule and he picks the most detailed thing he can think of! But it was his birthday so I sucked it up and gave him what he wanted :)

So I present to you the "fire-chicken nails". I started with a base of Wet'n'Wild Black Creme and waited for it to dry. When it was finally dry I used Maybelline Bold Gold and a small detail brush to paint in all of the details. On my four nails I did the abstract design to resemble the feathers in the logo and on my thumb I squeezed the whole chicken on there. I finished everything off with a layer of Poshe to give it a nice shine.

It's not my best work but for being so short on time I'm pretty proud of it and Tylor absolutely loved them so I'm happy that they came out the way they did!

What do you guys like to do on your nails for a birthday celebration?

Thanks for reading chickens! See ya next time ;)

The funny story that really wasn't funny

Hey wanna hear a funny story that really wasn't funny?...

So my house is on a small hill that leads up to my front steps, in the winter time we don't use my front door because the snow builds up on the steps and we would ruin our yard trying to shovel it so instead we just use out basement door. Well, with the warm weather we've been having finally all of the snow has melted in my yard. When it melted on our front steps my dad found a surprise.... a package for me dated January 31st -_- I ripped into the package to find two beautiful Azature pretties waiting for me and fully intact thank goodness!! I can't even tell you how many prayers I said to the nail polish gods hoping the polishes wouldn't be destroyed! Naturally I couldn't wait to get these gorgeous colors on my nails and was so happy to find they weren't even goopy! What luck right?! So moral of the story? Even when you have 2 feet of snow on your front steps CHECK FOR PACKAGES! Because apparently UPS and Fedex deliverers don't mind trekking through the snow to put a package there -_-

Bahh at least they were in perfect condition! I apologize for the nubbiness of my nails, they still haven't grown out but I couldn't resist showing you these pretties. I'm showing off Azature Light Purple Diamond, a beautiful dusty grey-toned purple with a silver shimmer. The shimmer is more pronounced in the bottle but it's still gorgeous! Swatches below are two smooth coats with top coat, though you could almost get away with just one.

I knew I needed some art on top, but my creative juices are pretty dry at the moment so I opted for a stamp that resembled diamonds to me :) The stamp is Bundle Monster BM-404 and I used Lime Crime Lavendairy, Maybelline Color Show Amethyst Ablaze, and China Glaze Bizarre Blurple.

I ended up absolutely loving this combination! I want to do some more gradient stamps too the look they create is so fun! And keep an eye out on the blog for the second pretty I recieved from Azature ;)

Thanks loves

So Blue Without Snow

Let it snow! On my nails anyways ;)

It's no secret I'm not the biggest fan of winter... or a fan at all, but one thing I do like is the snow. I love to snowmobile and cross country ski so snow is a good thing around here. Annnnnnd it's supposed to snow today! So why not paint my nails accordingly?

I started with a base of Color Club Over the Moon. When that was dry I created the gradient using Color Club Over the Moon, China Glaze So Blue Without You, and Maybelline Color Show Navy Narcissist. When that was dry I took some white acrylic paint and a toothpick to create the dotted gradient to resemble snow. I finished off with some Poshe top coat and I'm ready for the snow!

I'm hoping to get snowed in today so let's see how that goes! If not at least I've got a snow storm on my nails ;)

How do you feel about winter?
Thanks loves :)
