Olive You

I'm so excited for today's post guys you don't even know!

Why you ask? Because I'm finally starting to get back into some in depth nail art again and absolutely love it! I've been in a slump lately and even when I did some designs on my nails they were simple. Don't get me wrong I love simple nail art, it's always so striking. But sometimes I really love sitting down and spending hours creating art on my nails.

I saw this super cute photo on Google the other day of two cartoon olives and it said "Olive you" underneath them... get it? O-live you, I love you?! Come on tell me that's not the cutest thing ever??? LOL! I knew the instant I saw it that I had to recreate it on my nails so keep reading to see what I came up with :)

I started off the design with a base of Lime Crime Milky Ways on all of my nails. I created the "Olive You", hearts, dots, and olives by using acrylic paints in various colors. I added a layer of China Glaze Fairy Dust on my pinky for a little extra sparkle. Then I decided to mattify everything with NYC Matte Me Crazy and the design was finished!

I really fell in love with these nails. I wore them for a week straight and it was so hard for me to take them off!! I mean olives really?! ;)

Not only was I excited to do these nails, but after I finished them a whole slew of ideas came to my mind! I'm really happy to finally be getting over my nail art slump, hopefully anyways :) So here's to hoping that there's more art on the way!

And remember guys... Olive you all!! :)

Cartoon Nails with China Glaze Too Yacht To Handle

Hey guys!

Remember when I told you I was on the hunt for the perfect min polish?? Well..... I FOUND IT! And I'm never ever ever letting it go ;) China Glaze Too Yacht To Handle may be my absolute favorite color in the whole world, that's saying something since my favorite color is pink. CG TYTH is the perfect creamy, bordering on neon, mint polish with a beautiful formula. Check out the design I created using it!

I started off with a base of China Glaze Too Yacht To Handle. When it dried I created the outline using Wet n Wild Black Creme and I added the "shine" with white acrylic paint. Finally I used NYC Matte Me Crazy for a flat finish!

I'm so in love with these you guys have no idea! And definitely keep your eyes on the blog for some more China Glaze Too Yacht To Handle yumminess, I'm sure I'll be reaching for it quite often in the future!! :)

What's your favorite polish?

Thanks loves :)

Mint chocolate chip marbled

I don't know about you guys but this summer I've been crazy for mint! Mint clothes, mint makeup, mint nail polish.... mint everything!!!

Up until recently though I didn't have much for mint colored nail polish, a shame I know! So I went on the hunt for two specific colors, China Glaze For Audrey and China Glaze Too Yacht Too Handle. And can I say, best purchases I've ever made!! For today, my manicure showcases the gorgeousness that is China Glaze For Audrey. Ready to take a look?

I started off with a base of Essie Blanc on all of my nails. For the watermarble nails I used Essie Blanc, China Glaze For Audrey, and Wet n Wild Black Creme. For the gradient nails I used Essie Blanc and China Glaze For Audrey and I added a coat of Hard Candy Black Tie Optional on top. I topped everything off with Essie Good To Go and then added NYC Matte Me Crazy for a flat finish.

I'm definitely loving the matte finish on these!! Although I wish I didn't smudge my marble on my middle finger :( *sigh* What can ya do though?!

OH! And I've been getting pretty good at these 15 second Instagram video tutorials!! I have two for this particular design and they should be posted shortly so make sure you head over to my IG account and check them out!! ;)

Thanks loves :)

Formula was thinner, below is three thin coats with matte top coat and then regular top coat.

- Jacaranda Flower -
Medium, dusty purple. Thinner formula. Below is three thin coats with top coat. (Only two pictures because my first one keeps uploading blue.... I have no idea why)

Peach / Melon shade with a tiny bit of golden shimmer. Great formula. Below is three thin coats with top coat.

Bright coral creme. Buttery smooth formula. Below is three thin coats with top coat.

Summer Neon Gradient and Watermarble

I don't know where you guys are but I live in MA and man, it's been a cold spring! I keep waiting and waiting for that warm weather to no avail. But I think we may have finally gotten past the road block!

Summer is finally here and with the warm weather comes neon nail polish. I don't know what it is about neon polish that just makes you feel so summery but I absolutely love it!

I started with a base of Essie Blanc so my colors would really pop. Then I created the gradient using China Glaze Pool Party and Orly Highlighter. When that dried I created the watermarble over it using Essie Blanc and Maybelline Color Show Clear. I top coated them with Essie Good To Go and just because I love mattifying neons I added NYC Matte Me Crazy over everything. LOVE!

Oh summer how I've missed you so! Please never leave again okay???

What's your favorite season?

Thanks loves :)

Galaxy Nails: Tribal Space Edition

Yes this awesomesauceness of a manicure just happened.... whatttttt

I don't even know where this idea came from but I am obsessed! I wanted to do some more galaxy nails because I haven't done any in a while and then I just started painting over them with white acrylic paint and then this happened... galaxy nails, the tribal space edition ;)

Okay let's get this process rolling! I started with a base of E.L.F Sea Escape on all of my nails. When that was dry I created the galaxies using Essie Blanc, Color Club Over The Moon, Color Club Eternal Beauty, Lime Crime Parfait Day and Lime Crime Lavendairy. I added a layer of China Glaze Fairy Dust for the starry effect but you really can't even see it -_- LOL Then I used white acrylic paint and a small nail art brush to create the tribal design on top. When everything was dry I decided to mattify it with NYC Matte Me Crazy and tadaaaaa!

Does this next picture look incredibly orange to you? In my files it looks normal but every time I upload it to blogger it looks so orange and no matter how many times I delete it and upload it again it won't change... so I hope it looks normal but if it doesn't I'll have to delete it again boo!!!

I really just love these so much! A little bit of self love isn't bad right...... right?! LOL

So what do you guys think? Do you have any other ideas for galaxy nails?
Thanks loves :)

Matte / Shiny leopard spots

It's been quite a while since I've done any animal print nails or matte / shiny nails on this little blog. I'd say its overdue!

So hey, if I need to do animal print and matte / shiny why not combine them?! Not a bad turn out if you ask me ;)

I started with a base of Wet n Wild Black Creme. I topped my ring, middle, and thumb with NYC Matte Me Crazy and my pointer and pinky with Poshe. When everything was dry I took a nail art brush and painted on the leopard spots with NYC Matte Me Crazy on the shiny nails and Maybelline Color Show Clear on the matte nails. No top coat for this one or else all the hard work would disappear!!!

I love the difference between matte and shiny I really should do more manicures including them both!

What's your favorite color to mattify?!

Thanks loves :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my little turkeys that celebrate!! :)

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, food and family always go so well together! You know what else goes great together? Teddy bear pilgrims and turkeys!! Yes, you heard [read?] me right! LOL! I wanted to do some cool nail art for Thanksgiving and I saw THIS photo online and knew I had to use it as inspiration!

I started with a gradient of Azature White and Pure Ice Gold Dust. I painted the teddy bear pilgrim and turkey using acrylic paints and the leaf designs with China Glaze Harvest Moon. I used NYC Matte Me Crazy for a flat finish and viola! Finished :)

AND you guys get a special Thanksgiving treat, my 'Cinderella hand' ;) My nails are super short on my right hand because I broke one yesterday :( But oh well I loved this design too much to resist!!

What do you think?!

I like to take times like these and reflect on what I'm grateful for. I'm so grateful for my family, friends, and my boyfriend but there is another thing, or things, that takes a special place in my heart. I am so truly grateful for all of YOU. Every one of you that comes here and reads my little blog are the reason I do what I do. I paint my nails because I want to share with all of you my love for polish. Your comments and just the pure fact that you stick with me through all of my ramblings and my slightly crazy moments makes all of the time I put in to this blog worth it. I don't ever want to take any of you for granted because without all of you this blog wouldn't be the source of true happiness that it is. So thank YOU from the bottom of my heart :)

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and I hope you stop by again soon ;)

Thanks lovelies!

Neon tribal

Hello dears!

I'm not going to lie... I'm extremely jealous of anyone who can do a tribal nail... like I can't even handle it! Lol! But! I've been practicing and I think I'm improving! Improving enough to show you guys my attempt anyways ;) I'm not sure why exactly I used neon colors, I just kind of picked three colors I liked together and they just so happened to all be neon coincidence?! I don't think so!

I started off with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. Then I took China Glaze I'm With the Lifeguard, Nina Ultra Pro Blue Blaze, and Orly Highlighter and blocked off my nails. After that I took my smallest striping brush and outlined and doodled with some black acrylic paint. I top coated with Poshe and I was done!

Since I love mattifying neons I was dying to see what these looked like mattified. I used NYC Matte Me Crazy below:

I'm not sure which way I like it better... I really love neons mattified but there's just something about that shine that stands out to me ;) Which way do you guys prefer?

Thanks so much loves :)

SPLAT!

Hello cupcakes!

I've got a super fun manicure for you guys today. A little while back I did some nails for the Mish Mash challenge that I'm participating it. The theme was a nail art technique you've never tried before. I decided to try some water spotted nails, and while frustrating, the effect was pretty cool. The design I did for the challenge was turquoise nails... and while I was doing these I came up with a new idea. What about some neon water spotted nails??

I started off with a base of Azature White. When that was dry I taped off my nails and used the water spotted technique that I mentioned in my previous post using China Glaze Pool Party, China Glaze Orange Knockout, China Glaze Sun-Kissed, China Glaze I'm With the Lifeguard, and Nina Ultra Pro Blue Blaze. And finally I top coated with Poshe

And just because I love it, I mattified the mani with NYC Matte Me Crazy.

I was afraid at first that the colors would get all muddy and blend together but I was so happy to find that they didn't. I love how bright it turned out and surprisingly it really didn't take me too long... probably around an hour and a half from start to finish.

What do you guys think?
