Swirly twirly with Zoya Liberty

MOAR untrieds!

Ready for another Zoya PixieDust? Today it's Liberty's turn to shine! Zoya Liberty is just a stunning medium blue. It has a sparkle that is so gorgeous I don't even know how to describe it! This one was in my untrieds for so long because I have heard that it can be a stainer. I doubled up on my base coat before I applied Liberty and had no staining. Just be careful around your cuticles ;) Ready to see what I came up with?

I started off with a base of Zoya Liberty (2 coats). When it was dry I stamped randomly over each nail using Bundle Monster plate BM-426 and Sally Hansen Silver Sweep. I'm not sure what exactly this image is supposed to be but I sure do love it ;) I cleaned everything up and didn't apply top coat because it would ruin the textured effect but after I took my first photos I did end up top coating with Essie Good To Go so you guys can see the shiny smooth yumminess.

This polish. I actually don't even know what to say except I love it SO MUCH. I'm a sucker for blues, when I was younger blue was my favorite color, and this one is just the blue of my dreams. And when it's top coated the sparkly really comes alive. Definitely drool worthy.

What do you guys think? What's your favorite blue polish?

Thanks loves :)

It's the motherboard!

Ever have a design that just didn't turn out the way you wanted it to but you still end up liking it?

I really wanted to use the fun computer / motherboard design that's on Bundle Monster plate BM-415 but my green polish just doesn't stamp well at ALL. Because it doesn't the design ended up coming out way more subtle then I wanted so I added some number stamps on top and I actually think it brought the design together really well. Let's see what you guys think ;)

I started with a base of Sally Hansen Silver Sweep. Then I stamped using Bundle Monster plate BM-415 and China Glaze Con-Fused?. After that I stamped over all of my nails again with the same plate BM-415 and Color Club Beyond. I cleaned everything up and sealed it all in with Essie Good To Go and that was it.

I didn't expect to love this design as much as I did. Yes it's subtle but sometimes subtle can be a good thing. I felt so robot like.... is that really weird? Yeah probably but who cares I'm a damn robot!!! ;) ;)

What do you think guys? Make sure you let me know in the comments!!

Thanks loves, talk to you soon! :)

Golden Chevrons with Zoya Feifei

As I sat down to paint my nails the other day I really wanted to use some colors that I haven't tried before. I always seem to reach for the same colors so my untried list is rather large and when I opened up my drawers I realized that my Zoyas get almost no love. What?! Why don't we change that, like NOW.

The first shade that I grabbed was Zoya Feifei. What a wonderful and unique polish. It's an icy blue foil with so many different gold / copper based micro glitters which gives this polish an almost duo chrome effect. So lovely. I knew I wanted to pair this up with some gold art so I hope you guys like what I came up with!

I started of with a base of Zoya Feifei (3 coats for full coverage). When it was dry I used Bundle Monster plate BM-423 and Maybelline Color Show Bold Gold and stamped over each nail. For a little extra fun I used plate BM-317 and Sally Hansen Silver Sweep and stamped the little bow image on my ring finger. I sealed it all in with Essie Good To Go and that was it.

I love how well the gold stamping compliments this polish. It's a little difficult to see in the photos but the copper / gold micro glitters were really prominent in real life. And I just think that little bow is too damn cute ;)

What do you think guys? What is your most untried brand?

Thanks loves :)

NYE Grungy Glam

Hi guys!

Sorry I haven't been posting, life's been a little crazy. But thankfully it seems to be settling, just in time for the new year! Can you believe it's almost 2015? When I was younger people would always tell me, just wait until you get older the years will just fly by. I never used to believe them but it's so true! These past few years have literally FLOWN by! But I've also learned to get excited about change, because it's going to happen wether or not you want it to ;) So I don't know about you guys but I'm so ready to bring in the new year! New opportunities, new everything. And new nails!

Let's get on with it then shall we?!

I started off with a base of Color Club Beyond. Then I took a fan brush and dipped it in Maybelline Color Show Bold Gold and then Sally Hansen Silver Sweep and brushed it over my nails. I kept going back with all three colors until I got to a look that I liked. When that was dry I took Maybelline Color Show Navy Narcissist and stamped with Bundle Monster plate BM-H14. I sealed everything in with Essie Good To Go and that was it.

I really loved these nails, I love the color that the three shades (CC Beyond, MCS Bold Gold, and SH Silver Sweep) created by using the dry brush technique. Kind of a grungy glam ;) ;)  And I think that the blue just gave it a really nice pop of color.

What do you guys think?

Are you ready for 2015?

Thanks loves :)

Christmas Eve Dots

It's Christmas Eve!

I really just love Christmastime, the excitement, the mystery, the friends and family. Sure it's stressful but when it comes down to it, it's always a holiday to remember. It's a little bit crazy here so I'm going to keep this post short and sweet ;)

I started off with a base of OPI Bubble Bath. Then I took a few different dotting tools and created the dots with China Glaze Just Be-Claws, China Glaze Con-Fused?, Maybelline Color Show Bold Gold, and Sally Hansen Silver Sweep. I sealed it in with Essie Good To Go and that's it.

Ahh, nothing better then a simple dotticure. I love designs like this because you can create them in so little time so they're great when your rushing around for the holidays and still want to make sure your nails are looking fabulous.

What are you wearing on your nails for Christmas Eve?

Silver and Gold

So you've been looking for a holiday manicure to rock this season but you're sick of the green and red and cutesy designs? Do you want something more punk-ish? Want to spice it up a bit? I totally have the design for you! Keep reading to find out how to get this super fun and spunky silver and gold design.

Wow, is it just me or did I really sound like I was trying to sell you guys something up there? I should totally become a sales person! LOLOL

Selling isn't for me, but this design certainley is! I mean don't get me wrong I love red and green and cutesy Christmas nails but sometimes I just crave a little more spice.

I started off with a base of Wet N Wild Black Creme. When it dried I used Maybelline Color Show Bold Gold and Sally Hansen Silver Sweep and created a water spotted design. Instead of top coating for a shiny finish I opted for NYC Matte Me Crazy. Finally I added some small tear drop shaped rhinestones.

I love how this design looks, punk rock but still totally in the holiday spirit.

If you want a better look at how I created these nails, because come on I'm really not that good at explaining myself, head on over to my Instagram (@pinkandpolishednails) I will be posting a video tutorial shortly.

What do you guys think?

Snow Flakey

Hello December!

I know I've already posted once this month but I was in such a rush I didn't have time to say my welcome! Not that I welcome every month.... but December is such a festive month I think it deserves it.

It's no secret that I hate winter, I think I say it 34894368950793 times every year, but there are two things that I do enjoy about the season, snow and Christmas! I'm going to be doing quite a few festive designs this month, or that's the goal anyways ;) And I'm going to start it off with a chilly design featuring a special polish from my brand The Little LacquerBean. Read on if you want to know why it's so special!

I started off this design with a base of The Little LacquerBean Let It Go. When it was dry I used some snowflake nail vinyls from The Little LacquerBean and fit them to each nail. I trimmed off the excess and applied Essie Good To Go to finish it off.

I LOVE blue and silver together. Actually my Christmas tree has had a blue / silver theme for the past 3 years, even though I'm changing it up this year shhhhhh ;) This design is so simple and easy to do, it took me about a half hour to complete, yet it looks so fun and festive.

You guys still here? I'll let you in on a little secret if you are. This polish is a part of a special collaboration. I have been asked to be the guest this month for The Glitter Box, a monthly box from Fat Lacquers that features a different guest each time. As you can guess I was ecstatic! Especially when I found out this month's theme, Frozen! I'm a huge fan of the movie (child at heart FOREVER) so I was pumped to create TWO polishes. Yes that's right, there will be TWO boxes this month! The boxes will go on sale December 5th so keep an eye out I'll have some proper swatches coming soon!

What do you think of that secret?! Will you be purchasing one, or even both, of The Glitter Boxes?!

That's all for today, talk to you guys soon!

31DC2014 Day 8: Metallic Nails

Well it's day 8 of the 31 Day Challenge 2014 and you guys know what that means... time for some metallic nails!!

I was super excited for this day because I had such a fun manicure in mind, and it actually came out somewhat how I planned ;)

I knew right away that I wanted to test out some of my The Little LacquerBean nail vinyls and combine them with a shiny, rainbow-esque design. So check out what I came up with!

I started off with a base of OPI Push & Shove on all of my nails. When my base was dry I placed some TLLB wave nail vinyls (You can buy them HERE) on each nail. I painted over each nail with Sally Hansen Cobalt Chrome, SH Minted Metal, SH Liquid Gold, and Essie Penny Talk. I removed the vinyls and topped everything off with some Essie Good To Go and my design was finished.

I just love the subtle rainbow finish to these and they were SO SHINY! If you know me you know I can't resist anything shiny! Yeah I'm one of those simple people ;) And that's just perfectly fine by me!

Okay it's your turn! Post a link to your metallic nails in the comments so I can see them!!!

Thanks loves :)

31DC2014 Day 1: Red

Uh Oh!

It's that time again! Every September the 31 Day Challenge rolls around, and every year I let it just roll on by ;) The first challenge I ever did when I started blogging was the 31 Day Challenge and man it was so hard!

But, I figure it's time for me to give it another shot. I can't guarantee that I'll be able to do every day because I'm going to be opening up my indie shop soon but I'll give it my best try for you guys!

On to day one then: Red Nails :)

I started off this design with a beauty, Victoria's Secret Boudoir, a delicious deep red with a stunning shimmer. When it dried I used Wet n Wild Black Creme and OPI This Gown Need A Crown and created the thin lines at the free edge. I applied some Essie Good To Go on top to finish it off.

I really enjoy the simple look to these nails, they were super easy to create and the final look is quite elegant in my opinion.

So what do you think guys? Are you participating in the 31 Day Challenge? If you are drop a link to your post in the comments and I'll be sure to check it out!!

Abstract geometric

Ever have one of those nights where you can't figure out what to paint on your nails so you just start randomly doodling?

Yeah that definitely happened to me and the result is a geometric type design with some cool metallic and some pastel colors :)

I started off this design with a base of Sally Hansen Silver Sweep. When that was dry I free handed some triangles on using Essie Penny Talk and outlined them with Lime Crime Parfait Day. Lastly I added some yellow lines through the triangles using Lime Crime Crema de Limon and I finished my design off with some Essie Good To Go.

They are a bit strange I suppose but I kind of feel like they are a fun geometric-esque design. Sometimes all it takes is a little bit of doodling to get a fun design on your nails! And sometimes it's just enough to make people to go "huh?" ;) You tell me which situation you think this is!

Bundle Monster Stamping with a touch of Holo

It's time for some more stamping!

I have to admit when I told you guys in one of my previous posts that I was going to go through all of the Bundle Monster 2013 CYO plates I thought it was going to be a LOT easier. I was wrong. Trying to use every single image is proving to be difficult. Some images I just really don't like, but I'm doing my best not to skip out on anything so I'll make it through eventually ;)

But today I've got a design that I do like! It's a tribal-esque, simple triangle / line combo image.

I started with a base of Color Club Eternal Beauty. When it was dry I stamped over it using Bundle Monster's plate BM-402 and Sally Hansen Silver Sweep. I sealed it all in with Essie Good To Go and the design was finished.

I really enjoyed this simple image and the silver / purple color combination. Simple yes, but beautiful too. Though I do have to say trying to get the lines straight across was such a pain in the butt!! ;)

Belated graduation nails

Hey guys!

Man, these nails are LATE! I was supposed to post them in the beginning of June... oops ;) Now I'm not the one that graduated, it's actually my boyfriend's little sister that did. She graduated from high school woooooo! I remember being so damn excited to get out of school I basically ran out those doors. Yeah, I was one of those people who hated school, I got good grades but just hated every second of it. Eh, it's not for everyone I guess. Anyways I knew she was so excited and I just had to create some nails just for the occasion and I knew exactly what to do!! Check out below to see what I decided on :)

Okay so the school colors are white and blue so I knew where to start... With a base of Essie Blanc on all of my nails except my thumb and ring. When they dried I stamped over them using Bundle Monster BM-H23 and Maybelline Color Show Navy Narcissist. I added China Glaze Fairy Dust on top for a little extra sparkle. On my ring and thumbs I started with a base of Sally Hansen InstaDri Silver Sweep. I added two sponged coats of Hard Candy Celebrate Sequins (oh my holo!). And for one final touch I stamped a graduation cap on my thumb with Bundle Monster BM-H23 and Maybelline Color Show Navy Narcissist. I finished off all of my nails with a generous coat of Essie Good To Go

I love these nails SO MUCH! And I really loved how convenient it was that Bundle Monster had a stamping plate with super cute little graduation caps. Oh and my ring finger was seriously blinding in the sunlight, talk about accident causing nails lol!

How about you guys, did you love of hate school?

Thanks loves :)

Like a sir

More stamping? Yes please!

I'm really having a fun time challenging myself to use all of the designs on my plates. And sometimes it's really difficult to come up with ideas, but sometimes it's also really easy, like these!

This monocle and mustache design had me dying on the inside. I mean come one it's SO CUTE! I figured that the best way to go with this particular design would be to just keep it simple and make the main focus the mustashied faces!

I started with a base of Sally Hansen Silver Sweep. I love using this as a base because it's part of Sally Hansen's quick dry collections so it dries super fast so there's less wait time for nail art! When it was dry I stamped over using BM-401 and L.A Colors Striping polish in black. I sealed everything in with Poshe top coat to finish.

I really love when images are so creative and unique like this one. The images need no help to be the center of attention!

What's your favorite plate image ever?!

Thanks loves :)
