Happy Day After Memorial Day

Yep.

This post was definitely supposed to go live yesterday but I may or may not have forgotten to schedule it.... oops!

But I am quite smitten with this water marble so I'm still going to post it! ;) I hope all of you that celebrated Memorial Day had a wonderful day full of family and fun, but more importantly I hope you took a second to give thanks to all the men and women who gave their life and who are still fighting so that we can live the way we do!

I knew I wanted to do something red, white, and blue to celebrate and what better way then with a water marble manicure?!

Let me just start this off saying I should have done ANYTHING else -_- The water marbling gods must not have been happy with me when I did these because man, did they give me such an issue! It took me two long grueling hours until I was finally happy with the outcome.

Okay here we go! ;) I started with a base of Essie Blanc on all of my nails. I taped off around my nails while I was waiting for them to dry. When I was finished I did my marble using OPI Big Apple Red, Maybelline Color Show Clear, and Nina Ultra Pro Blue Blaze. I added a layer of China Glaze Fairy Dust and finally one coat of Poshe to seal everything in.

Red, white, and water marble!! Woo! LOL I hope you guys enjoy the rest of your week! I'll talk to you all soon!

Thanks loves :)

The incredible, ever-changing water marble featuring Ruby Wing polishes

Whew long title much?! LOL

I have a soft spot in my heart for Ruby Wing polishes, I love the fact that they change color, it really makes for some unique manicures. I had an idea to use some of their new spring line in a water marble and even though the polishes didn't want to spread I managed to get a halfway decent marble out of it :)

I started with a base of Essie Blanc so that the colors from the marble would really pop. When that was dry I created the water marble using Ruby Wing In Your Dreams, Ruby Wing Silk Sheets, and Ruby Wing Kitten Heels. I sealed everything in with some Poshe top coat and waited for the color-changing goodness.

Oh and I thought now would be a good time to show off my ring that my wonderful and thoughtful boyfriend got me for Valentine's Day. It's been getting sized for two weeks now.... thanks mom for giving me tiny baby hands.. I'm a size 5 1/2 LOL! But I love it so much I couldn't help but show it off! I hope you guys don't mind ;)

And here it is after I stuck them under a UV lamp!

I'm so glad this actually came out the way I pictured it! I wish the polishes covered a bit better, but I think I could have fixed that with some more drops, but oh well too late for that now!

Do you guys love color-changing polishes or what??
Thanks loves :)

From the vault: Starburst Watermarble

Eeeeeeek my nails are NEKKID!!!!

I haven't painted my nails in almost a week! The horror right?! Lately I've been working on a project to improve my nail painting area, I bought my very first melmers from Michael's woohoo!! But you know I can't leave well enough alone and I had to Mod Podge the front with some pretty chevron paper and add some pink glitter and then when that was all done I had to completely reorganize my work area! It's still not finished but I'm hoping to put the final touches on tonight so I can finally get back to polishing! Don't worry I'll make sure to post some pictures too ;)

So for now I had to pull out a manicure I did a while back, I'm surprised I didn't post it because I actually loved this design. I tried out my very first starburst water marble and even though it took me like 3 hours, I'm so happy with the way it turned out :)

Since this was a while ago and you know I didn't write down what polishes I used I'm going to do my best to remember... if I get it wrong you can't yell at me though!! I started with a base of Azature White and then taped off around my fingers for easy clean up. When that was dry I created my marble using Maybelline Color Show Navy Narcissist, Maybelline Color Show Orange Fix, and Sally Hansen Hard Lemonade. I took the tape off, cleaned up, and added Color Club Snowflakes, a flaky iridescent topper, and put on some Poshe top coat over that to seal in the design. :)

I think I wore this design for like five days! I really loved how unique it looked and the color combination is one that I don't usually wear. Actually the only reason I used these colors is because they all spread really well in water which made the marbling easier. I had to go through 6 or 7 polished until I finally found these ones :) I believe my original color combination was going to be using the Color Club Halo Hues but they just didn't want to work with me that day! Grrrrrrr ;)

What do you think? Have you ever tried a starburst water marble? I forget which tutorial I used but there is plenty online so look it up and give it a go!

Thanks loves :)

A Valentine's Day Marble

Yay for water marble nails that aren't a fail!!

I made sure to pray real hard to the water marbling gods before I even started this mani and thank goodness they answered my prayers ;)

Valentine's Day themed nails would never be complete without at least one pink water marble design! So let's get to it!

I started with a base of OPI Alpine Snow. Then I taped off around my nails and completed the marble using Sally Hansen Hard Drive, Sally Hansen Party Hard-y, and Sally Hansen Heart of Stone. I finished off with some Poshe and was ready to go.

I almost added some China Glaze Fairy Dust on top.... almost.... but I really loved the clean and crisp look to this marble so I'm happy I left it alone :)

I literally wore these for a full week before I could take them off! They were even all chipped and gross but I just loved the marble so much I held on to them way longer then I should have! Oh well LOL

Thanks loves :)

Merry marbling!

Hello chickadees!

I hope you're all having a wonderful Saturday! Any plans? I'll probably be off spending all my money on gifts and hopefully getting a tree ;) Every year we have to get a real tree because that pine smell is my absolute favorite and I've really been getting into the Christmas spirit despite the lack of snow... yes I have been wearing my pajamas inside out and putting a spoon under my pillow! LOL The silly things we do right?

Anyways, I decided to kick off my Christmas nail arts with a lovely red, green, and white water marble. I was feeling decidedly within Miss Watermarble's good graces the other day and thankfully she didn't let me down! I wish the green was a bit darker but oh well I am in love with it! Shhhh I'm actually still wearing this on my nails today ;)

I started with a base of Azature White and proceeded to tape around my nails to minimize cleanup. When my nails were dry I made my watermarble design using Azature White, Maybelline Color Show Candy Apple and Maybelline Color Show Tenacious Teal. I layered some China Glaze Fairy Dust over that and top coated with some Poshe.

Aaaaaaand here I am posing with my failed attempt at watermarbling a baby Christmas ornament -_- Looks okay from this angle but you should see the other side! ;)

There's nothing like a successful watermarbling sesh to really get you in the Christmas mood amirite?!

Sometimes though I find myself lacking in spirit... so what do you all do to get in the Christmas spirit if you celebrate?
Thanks loves and have a great weekend!! :)

Zebra marble

Hi loves

So, I've had this idea for a while and only recently have I been able to act on it. Some of you may remember my first challenge day of the Mish Mash Challenge where I did a purple holographic water marble... I noted on that post that the stripes were so skinny they kind of reminded me of zebra stripes. Well that put a little thought in my head of doing a holographic white and black marble. Then it would really look like zebra stripes right?! Well it didn't exactly happen that way -_- The black lines didn't get as skinny as the purple ones did but I still really like it and it looks zebra-ish.... sort of anyways ;)

I started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. I think I need to pick up another bottle of this... or 12 since I use it so much ;) Anyways, I used OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and Color Club Beyond for the marble on my middle, ring, and thumb. Then I just did two coats of Color Club Beyond on my index and pinky finger and after some top coat I was all done :)

What do you think? Kind of zebra-ish right? Either way I wore this for a solid 4 days before I took it off. I'm so sad that some of the pictures decided to be a little blurry -_- Oh well though right? I can't control when my camera wants to have little hissy fits!!!

Have you tried marbling with holographic polishes yet? Which ones work best for you?
Thanks guys :)

Holo marble and spots

Hi loves

I've been itching to do some more water marbling lately and I had some free time the other night so I decided to sit down and give it a whirl again. Man, I wish I didn't even bother ;) LOL These nails gave me nothing but headaches. I came very close to just giving up. I wanted to do a marble on all of my nails but the only ones I managed to get were three: my thumb, middle, and ring. And those three took me about 2 and a half hours! -_- Ahhhhhhh!

I started with a base of Color Club Miss Bliss on all of my nails but my pinky which I painted with Color Club Beyond. I did the marble using Color Club Miss Bliss and Beyond and used the same for the dots on my index and pinky. I top coated with Poshe and did a little dance when they were finally finished ;)

As much of a pain as these were I'm really happy I didn't give up because I really love the way they look. They might even be one of my favorite marbles of all time! Just goes to show you should never give up because you never know what the outcome may be! :)

Don't forget to enter in the huge multi-blogger GIVEAWAY I'm hosting! It's almost over and it's international!! :)

Thanks so much lovelies

Water marble is my.... friend?

Hi cupcakes!

I've been having so much luck with water marbling lately I can't even believe it! Surely it will run out soon so I'm taking advantage of it as long as I can ;) Now I love me a good neon water marble... but there's something that I love even more... holographic water marble!!

I heard through the grapevine that the Color Club Halo Hues were good for marbling so I figured I'd test out just how true that rumor was... turns out its 100% true!

I started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and used Color Club Kismet, Over the Moon, and Eternal Beauty for the marble on my middle, ring, and thumb. On my index I have two coats of Eternal Beauty and on my pinky I have two coats of Kismet

What is with this blurriness?!?!?!

Holy rainbow!! Now these were super cool! The only thing that made me sad was that the marble kind of disappeared when the sun hit them... but it's ok I suppose because I mean just look at that rainbow!! ;)

I'm still holding on to the last threads of summer, wearing my neons and holos as much as I can ;) What do you do to remind yourself of sweet summertime?

Thanks dolls!

The subtlest of not subtle water marble ;)

Hi loves!

I hope you guys are having a lovely week so far!! It's been beautiful weather here so I really can't complain too much :)

Water marbling has always been something I've usually admired from a far... I try my hand at it every once in a while but it just gets so discouraging because the polishes I use don't always work, I mess up a few nails, the clean up is horrendous, or my personal favorite, I spill water all over my desk -_- But enough of my complaining! I decided that me and water marbling were going to become fast friends. I was going to do it until I got the technique down and I only spilled all the water a couple of times ;) To my surprise it went pretty smoothly this time! I think it has a lot to do with the fact that the polishes I chose worked well for marbling.

So let's get started! I started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls on all of my nails. Then I used China Glaze Sun-Kissed and I'm With the Lifeguard for my marbling colors and marbled my middle, ring, and thumb. Then I did two coats of I'm With the Lifeguard on my index and two coats of Sun-Kissed on my pinky.

For once my camera wasn't horrendous at photographic neons! I still had to do some color correction... hence why I look like I have jaundice in the last photo -_- but not nearly as much as I'm used to when I work with neons. The difference between the green and yellow was a lot more noticeable in person but they still photographed remarkably well ;) These were so darn bright I needed some sunglasses just to look at them B)

I don't think I'll ever get tired of using neons in the summertime. What's your favorite thing to wear on your nails in the summer? Thanks guys :)

Mish Mash Challenge: Purple

Hi cupcakes!

So it's been a long while since I've joined a challenge... the last one I think was around Christmastime last year. The reason I never join challenges is because I don't always have a lot of time on my hands and I would hate to start a challenge and not finish it! BUT, I've finally joined a new one called the Mish Mash Challenge hosted by Kimber's Lacquer Korner. I joined because it only posts once a week and I figure I can keep up with that... hopefully ;)

Anyways! Today is the kick off of the Mish Mash Challenge and the theme is purple. I knew immediately I wanted to incorporate Color Club Eternal Beauty, a purple holographic polish, because it's been one of my favorite polishes ever since I bought it! I also figured it was time to give water marbling another go, I heard somewhere around the polish community that the Color Club Halo Hues are really good for water marbling so hey, why not right?

Alright, to start off this mani I did a base of Maybelline Color Show  Iced Queen on my thumb, middle, and ring finger. Then I used Maybelline Color Show Iced Queen and Color Club Eternal Beauty for the water marble on those fingers. On my pointer and pinky I just did two coats of Color Club Eternal Beauty. Seal it all in with some Poshe top coat and we're finished!

yumm holo love!

These were super cool out in the sunshine I still get so amazed every time I see the Halo Hues outside in the sun because they are really quite stunning! Because both polishes were so good for marbling I ended up with really skinny lines I think it almost looks like a zebra print of sorts! And I was pleasantly surprised at how smooth water marbling went this time so expect to see some more in the future ;)

Question for you guys: I've been thinking about starting some video tutorials.... not that I know how lol! But would anyone be interested in seeing a tutorial for a water marble like this?

Don't forget to check out all the ladies participating in the Inlinkz below! And if you want to join too then feel free to add your blog!

Thanks guys :)

The Lazy 15: inspired from another bloggger's

Good morning again!!

I totally forgot to write this post last night O.O So this will be a rather short post as I'm writing it right before I leave for work -_- LOL So today is the last day of the Lazy 15!! I had so much fun doing it and seeing every one's manis I will miss it for sure! The blogger I was inspired by is Lindsey over at Nails 4 Dummies She did an AMAZING water marble for that challenge day using black polish and clear polish. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to try it! She wasn't lying abou it being hard to find a clear polish the spreads well tho -_- Eventually I found one that worked sorta lol! Make sure you check out HERS though its really beautiful! And here's mine! :)

Colors used:
- China Glaze Glistening Snow
- China Glaze Angel Wings
- China Glaze Ruby Pumps
- Sally Hansen Black Out
- Wet N Wild Clear Polish
- Finger Paints Late Night Rendezvous

I've got a little bit of blue going on on my middle finger -_- Sorry all that polish stains SO bad!! LOL

If you guys read this post earlier you would know that I was having some issues with blogger -_- It was telling me that I've used up all my storage space and I just couldn't figure out why because I haven't been blogging for all that long! Well incase any of you encounter this problem I found that if I resize my photos wayyyy smaller it takes up next to no space... So now I can post pictures again YAY! LOL

So anyways what do you guys think??

Thanks for reading :)
