Our favorite color is.. SPARKLE!

Hello all you lovely people!

Today is a VERY special day, though my mom would tell you otherwise ;) Today just happens to be her birthday!!! :D I knew I had to do something super fun for her bday and what's more fun than glitter?! Absolutely nothing!! :) So I went a little crazy here but hey that's ok! Check them out!!

Colors used:
- Sally Hansen Silver Sweep
- Finger Paints Late Night Rendezvous

So much sparklessss!!

So here's the thing, my mom doesn't like her birthday... another year older and all that, but I have an idea on how to make it better... if you guys want to help ;)

If you all really want to make her birthday special could you do me a favor? After I started my blog my mom got really interested in it... she has been zentangling for a while now and recently decided that it was time to start her own blog. If any of you reading this are bloggers, then you know as well as I do how difficult it is to start, it can get really frustrating if no one sees what you do and sometimes you feel like "what's the point?" I know my mom is getting frustrated and the last thing I want her to do is stop because she's SO good at what she does!

SO if you want to make her birthday a really special one would you go check out her blog and fb page... and maybe if your the awesomest followers I know you are, would you follow her? I promise you won't be disappointed she's really quite amazing and I'm not saying that just because she's my mom ;) LOL

Her blog is: HERE
And her FB page is: HERE

You guys are the best!!

Thanks for reading my super long post :)

Quit monkeying around!

Good morning!

Ok back story time ;) Last night I was home unusually early so for once I actually had some time to do some good old fashioned nail art! Happy dance!! My problem? I had no idea what to do -_- So I took to Twitter (if you guys don't follow me on there do it ;) @pinkandpolish) and asked for some suggestions. The lovely Swishie Nails tweeted me back and suggested a monkey! So I set off to google to get some inspiration and found THIS picture and went to work!

Oh and if you haven't visited Swishie Nails you totally have to!! She is SO sweet and her blog is fantastic! So go show it some love ;)

Next on the agenda... I would like to inform you before you see my nails that I had to file them down quite a bit the other night :( *sigh* I just couldn't keep staring at that broken corner! LOL So I present my new shorties and monkeys! :)

Colors used:
- China Glaze Agro
- Wet n Wild I Got A New Com-Pewter
- Zoya Mitzi
- Black Acrylic Paint
- White Acrylic Paint
- Brown Acrylic Paint
- Tan Acrylic Paint
- Yellow Acrylic Paint

Love them! I used the saran wrap technique on all of my nails to get the different greens and "jungle" look. And I did the monkeys freehand. It feels good to do some freehand nail art again I really wish I had time to do more lol!

So what do you guys think?

Winter bluesy

Good morning!

So quite a turn around from a few days ago right? LOL Well I don't actually have the winter blues but I am loving this blue mani I did on my mom :) I actually did these for her right around New Years and I'm just getting around to posting them O.O ooops ;) Anyways what's winter without a little bit of blue? Check it out!

I love photographing this hand of my mom's because her ring finger grows crooked ;) LOL it's so unique! :) And I love the stamp it reminds me of barbed wire for some reason...

Also, I promise to do something freehand really soon! I know this blog has been inundated with stamping and I hope you like them but I also want to do some other stuff too :) There really aren't enough hours in the day! lol!

So what do you guys think?

All you need is love... and a little stamping :)

Good morning!

I've got some more stamping for you guys today! Nothing new right? LOL For the past few weeks I've been trying to find an inexpensive silver stamping polish. I couldn't find any of the polishes that were suggested to me so one day I was searching the interwebs and found someone that said Sally Hansen Insta-Dri silver polish works fab so I ran to the store and picked some up.. Well guess what?! It works!!!! Woohoo! I was having some fun testing it out and came across this combination that I absolutely love! Check it out :)

Colors used:
- Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Silver Sweep
- Zoya Song

The blue is actually a new Zoya I haven't had the chance to show you guys yet but its gorgeous!!

I really think its time to file my nails :( I'm so sad! I know they grow back but they are just so pretty now! Grrrrr! LOL

Smile a little smile

Good morning everyone!

So I'm thinking that this little blog is suffering from the winter blues. Too much cold and dark colors and all that. How about we brighten up this corner of the internet today? I think we all need a little smile so take it from me! :)

Colors used:
- China Glaze Bend Over Backwards
- China Glaze Sun-Kissed
- L.A Colors striping polish in Black

I actually had a different idea for this mani but that particular stamp didn't want to cooperate with me -_- But whats better then some good old smiley faces? I'm enjoying wearing these a lot because they make me smile every time I look at them!

In other news, I lost the corner of my middle nail O.O The horror!! I'm trying to avoid filing them down because they are so pretty but I may have to soon. I don't think it's too noticeable do you guys?

So what do you think? Did you smile today? Make sure you pass it on! :)

Thanks for reading guys!

Ampersand love

Good morning everyone!

So I have this weird thing about ampersands (&), I love them. I have no idea why but I just do LOL! I knew my blog name would just have to have one in it and I use it where ever I can. Weird right? Ehh I'm just unique I guess ;)

When my mom ordered the new Bundle Monster stamping plates from 2012 we didn't look at the designs so imagine my surprise when there was an ampersand stamp! Like whattt?! SO awesome :) This is actually the first design I did with my new plates but I'm just now getting around to posting them -_- hey better late then never right?

Colors used:
- Sinful Colors Black on Black
- Maybelline Color Show Amethyst Ablaze
- L.A. Colors striping polish in Black

I've said this before and I'll say it again, Bundle Monster plates rock! I just can't get over how crisp the design is every time!

These nails were super cool and I loved wearing them! Not to mention Amethyst Ablaze is a gorgeous purple.

Swatched: Zoya Kimber, Zuza, FeiFei

Good morning lovelies!

I'm warning you now that this is a pretty long post so consider yourselves warned! :)

Most of you probably heard about Zoya's awesome promo that started January 7th. You could pick any three polishes for free and all you have to pay is $10 for shipping. You all know I jumped on that offer right?! LOL One of the best things about Zoya is they ship SO fast! I've already got my polishes and I can't wait to share them with you!

I actually got three and my mom got three so there will be another post coming soon of the other three :) But for now I picked Kimber, Zuza, and FeiFei. Are you guys ready to see some pretties?!

Kimber is a bright bold hot pink jelly base with a crazy gold shimmer from Zoya's Surf Collection. It dries with a foil-like finish. Obviously this is one of my favorites because it's pink! :) And when I say pink I mean PINK! This is a super stand out color and it was a dream to apply. Coverage is fine with two coats but for my swatches I did three and one coat of top coat.

Zuza is a beautiful teal/turquoise polish with a lovely gold and silver shimmer also from Zoya's Surf Collection. Like Kimber, Zuza dried with a foil-like finish. When I was looking at swatches of Zoya's to decide on the ones I wanted I think I literally drooled all over my keyboard when I saw this one! LOL and it totally lived up to the swatches I saw. It's so bright and bold! Though I didn't wear this one long because I was swatching, I have read other reviews that this one stains like crazy so double up on your base coat ;) Application was the same as Kimber and the pictures below are three coats plus top coat though you could get away with just two.

Fei Fei is really quite a complex color. It's described as a medium steel blue base with heavy gold, blue and pink iridescent metallic sparkle from Zoya's NYFW 2012 Diva Collection. But the thing is, it's so much more than that! The first thing I noticed was a strong copper sparkle which is super unique to me at least. I noticed it mostly when I was doing a gradient using FeiFei. Also there's a very slight green tinge to the polish as well. My only problem is that it's much thinner then any other Zoya I've dealt with... which isn't a lot ;) LOL But it can be built up to full opacity with three coats you just have to watch out for a little bit of cuticle flooding. Pictured below is three coats of FeiFei and one coat of top coat.

I'm super happy with my picks but I suspect any one I picked from Zoya would be fantastic ;) Don't forget I have three more coming up some time very soon on the blog!

If you want to order any of these or any others make sure you check out Zoya's site at www.zoya.com

So what do you guys think? Did you buy any Zoya's with the promo?

Thanks for reading :)
