The patchwork to my heart ;)

Hello hello!

Happy Wednesday! I had a lovely day off yesterday and spent it painting my nails! I mean what else would I do?!

I've got another Valentine's Day-esque mani for you guys today I hope your not getting sick of them ;) lol! This one isn't very traditional because it only uses a little bit of pink :) I have been wanting to try some patchwork nails for a while now and decided what better to do then some patchwork hearts? Well now you know! ;) Take a look!

Colors used:
- Lime Crime Milky Ways
- Lime Crime Pastelchio
- White Acrylic Paint
- Black Acrylic Paint
- Blue Acrylic Paint
- Pink Acrylic Paint

And because I thought it would look cool, I mattified it :)

Definitely loving it mattified! I'm so into the whole patchwork nail thing, I'm going to be trying another one really soon so keep your eyes open!

So what do you think?

The Valentine's Day blehhh

Good morning!

So today's mani did NOT turn out like I had hoped -_- I was working on another Valentine's Day one and it just didn't look anything like it did in my head :( BUT I shall show you all anyways!  It's not particularly bad just not what I wanted.

I saw THIS picture from Google it's from the awesome Leslie of Polish Art Addiction and wanted to do something like it... except it didn't go that way ;)  But take a look!! :)

Colors used:
- Layla Jade Groove
- Lime Crime Crema de Limon
- Lime Crime Parfait Day
- Lime Crime Lavendairy
- Maybelline Color Show Green With Envy
- NYC Matte Me Crazy

As you can see I was attempting to do a candy heart mani lol! I tried to do the writing too but that failed epically bad! And can someone please tell me why on earth I would mattify the beautifulness that is Layla Jade Groove? Because I'm not very sure why I would do such a thing -_- I suppose going for the whole chalky candy heart look is why but still a Layla holo should NEVER be mattified! Also Maybelline Green With Envy is just too close a color to Layla Jade Groove so you can barely see it...

Welp not every mani can turn out like I want but I will always show them to you guys here no matter how bad ;) And they don't always turn out bad, just not what I expected... sometimes they turn out even better :)

So what do you guys think? I've got another Valentine's Day mani in the works for you all :)

Holographic leopard

Good morning guys!

So Saturday was a really amazing day for me... I went to an Ulta and found two Layla holos on clearance! I couldn't even believe it! LOL I had heard that some people were finding them on clearance so I actually went to one last Tuesday but they didn't have any :( Thankfully there are two near me and the other one had a few left! You know I scooped them up!

I was super excited to use them so I picked Layla Coral Glam to put on. I had a slightly different idea for this mani but I ran out of time Saturday night.. so I just stamped over it with some good old leopard print :) Check it out!

Colors used:
- Layla Coral Glam
- L.A. Colors striper polish in Black

Of course the sun was already down by the time I did these so sorry no sun pics! I did shine a flashlight on them though so you can see the holo a but more ;)

I was sad when I realized that top coat dulls the holographic effect a little :( I mean it's still there and the holographic-ness is amazing but it was a bit stronger before tc -_- Oh well!

What do you think?

You're outta this world!

Happy Sunday everyone!

I decided to revisit some galaxy nails! I've only ever done one and I knew I wanted to try them again. I actually wanted to do some galaxy drip nails really bad but time was not on my side -_- I will do them soon for sure though!

I tried to go off of memory on galaxy nails. I know they're pretty easy because you just sponge on some colors but I'm too picky! Lol! But I really enjoyed recreating these nails so make sure you check them out :)

Colors used:
- Sally Hansen Heart of Stone
- Sally Hansen Hard to Get
- ELF Sean Escape
- SInful Colors Let's Talk
- Wet n Wild Kaleidoscope
- Color Club Gift of Sparkle

Not too shabby right? ;) I really want to try some of the yellow-y orange ones but I'm still a bit frightened! I also have seen some really pretty turquoise ones. I know I'll be doing some more galaxy nails in the near future!

Oh and today is the Super Bowl woohoo!! Since my Patriots have been knocked out I may or may not watch the it... but I know what I am watching... THE PUPPY BOWL! Hah! It's literally puppies playing in a super bowl-esque arena, probably the cutest thing I have ever watched in my entire life. It's on at 3 on Animal Planet if any of you puppy lovers want to watch! LOL

So what do you think? Are you going to watch the Super Bowl? Who are you rooting for? :)

Thanks for reading guys!! :)

Disney Days: Bambi

Good morning lovely people!

I did it! I really did it! LOL I actually am continuing with the Disney Days challenge! I'm not going to lie I was a little afraid it would slide to the side again but I'm determined this time :)

So today's Disney Days challenge was my mom's idea, Bambi was the first Disney movie to pop into her head when I asked. A bunch of ideas ran through my head but I'm pretty happy with the design I settled on, so take a look! :)

Colors used:
- China Glaze Harvest Moon
- China Glaze Fast Track
- China Glaze Running In Circles
- China Glaze Def Defying
- Lime Crime Parfait Day
- Brown Acrylic Paint
- Light Brown Acrylic Paint
- Black Acrylic Paint
- White Acrylic Paint

The other nails were actually my mom's idea as well. They are supposed to look like the back of a deer, and since I was going off of memory I think they came out pretty good ;) You also can't really tell but there is a gradient on the nails from light brown to brown back to light brown. The effect isn't quite as pronounced as I wanted it to be but it's still great!

Also, the lovely and extremely talented Mimi of Mimi Manicures has decided to do Disney Days with me! Woohoo!!! So make sure you click the link above to go to her page and see what she came up with for Bambi I know it will be amazing! :)

And if anyone else wants to do Disney Days with us all you have to do is send me and email at kjones622@hotmail.com and you can gladly play too! We don't bite I promise! LOL

So what do you guys think?

Glitter gradient

Good morning!

Happy Friday!! Woohoo! I sure do love me my Fridays :)

I've got something extra sparkly for you guys today. I tried out my first glitter gradient using the wonderful Lucy from Lucy's Stash's tutorial. Click HERE for the awesome tutorial ;) I don't really have all that many glitter polishes, I steered pretty clear of them when my obsession started because I was terrified of the removal process! But now that I know how to get it off  easier I've been trying to pick up more glitters. Why you ask?! Well because Lucy always does AMAZING glitter gradients and I'm super jealous -_- haha! Mine aren't anywhere near as good as hers but I'm pretty happy with the results for my first time.

Colors used:
- Wet n Wild Black Creme
- Wet n Wild Sparked

I think if my nails were longer it would have been easier to create this look. I kept getting the glitter too far down and I had to go back with my black polish to cover some of it up! And I don't think my glitter polish was quite dense enough. But thats ok because the final look is pretty darn cool!

So what do you guys think? Have you tried glitter gradient nails?

Quilted nails

Good morning!

Well I hope it's good for you anyways ;) Thursdays aren't particularly one of my favorite days because I generally work 10 hours -_- But money talks right? LOL Not to mention I'm dealing with my poor baby puppy Leana who hurt her paw really badly two nights ago (if you follow my on Twitter I posted a pic there). It's still not healing well and she won't even walk on it :( Sadness... But she's a resilient little pup so I'm sure she'll be back to normal in no time :)

On with the nails! So a few days ago someone posted to FB.. I can't remember who.. but they posted THIS pic of dotted quilted nails and I thought they were so cute! Obviously I tried to recreate them ;) They didn't come out as good as I hoped for but I still loved them none the less!

Colors used:
- China Glaze Escaping Reality
- Black Acrylic Paint
- White Acrylic Paint

So you know those days where no matter how hard you try nothing comes out right on your nails? That was totally me the night I did this. I had to repaint my nails a million times! Every time I was close to done I'd mess up my pointer or middle finger. I think I messed up my pointer four times and my middle two times *sigh* Oh and throw a thumb in there once too LOL. But I perservered and finally came to these ^^ I'm really happy that I put the white highlight on the dots they look almost 3D now ha!

What do you guys think?
