Review: Born Pretty Store Flocking Powder

Hi guys!

I'm really excited about today's post, Daisy from the Born Pretty Store recently contacted me to do a review for them. I was very excited to be able to get some blue flocking powder to try out. For those of you who don't know what flocking powder is, it's really small fibers that when put on your nail create a velvet look/ feel. It's super cool! The flocking powder from the Born Pretty Store goes for $7.99 and can be purchased HERE.

So let's get down to it! :) The package comes with a sizable container of flocking powder, a brush to brush off the excess powder, and some flat tweezers to make picking up the powder extremely easy.

So while I'm doing this review I'm just going to do a short little tutorial to show you guys how to use the powder as well :)

As far as the powder goes, it's really easy to work with. The fibers are very fine so you don't get any clumping. I actually bought some flocking powder from my local craft store and it can't even compare to it. The fibers in the store bought one are much larger.

To start off, paint your nails with one coat of a color that is close to your flocking powder. Because I am doing a design three of my nails are pink and two are the blue of the flocking powder.

After your first coat has completely dried paint another, slightly thicker, coat. Make sure you go one at a time here. While the polish is still wet pick up some flocking powder with the tweezers and sprinkle it over your nail. Don't be afraid to use a lot you can put the excess back into the container. After you've sprinkled it on top lightly pat it down using your other finger. It should look like this...

After that use the brush to brush off the excess onto your surface. And viola!! Make sure you don't top coat it after this though because it would ruin it! ;)

I did a little design on my other nails to show you guys how easy it is to work with :)

Flocking powder gives such a cool effect and it really isn't as hard to apply as I thought it would be. Wearability is ok, I would say it lasts about 1-2 days. Just because it is so fuzzy it's easy to come off, and it gets kind of weird when you get it wet (it does dry really quickly though). But it creates a fantastic look especially for a night out!

I would absolutely reccommend this product from the Born Pretty Store. Amazing prices and free shipping to boot!

Again, if you want to buy this flocking powder click HERE :)

Oh and before you do, Daisy was kind enough to give me a 10% off coupon to share with all of you! So make sure you use it! :)

So what do you guys think? Will you buy some? If you do don't forget to use my coupon!! ;)

Black roses

Good morning all!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend and maybe you even have today off! Definitely liking these three day weekends!

So I had absolutely NO inspiration last night when I sat down to paint these nails. I literally stared at my nail polishes for a good 15 minutes just trying to pick a damn color! Sad but true... lol! So I made my sister pick a color and went from there :) The color she ended up picking was very sheer, I had to put four coats on and I could still see visible nail line pretty good so then I figured out what I would do, stamp over it of course! Check it out!

Colors used:
- Wet n Wild Blue Wants To Be A Millionaire
- L.A. Colors stamping polish in Black

OH and of course I just HAD to break my thumb nail yesterday *sniffle* I can't remember the last time my thumb was this short! It feels so weird! Thankfully the stamp still looks good on it ;)

Glitter gradient take two!

Good morning guys!

I hope everyone's Saturday went well! I was running around like a crazy person... not exactly sure why but it happens far too often -_- lol! But the good news is I did end up getting most of the stuff I needed for my 1,000 GFC follower giveaway which I should be posting within the next couple of days I just need a few more things!

So you want to know about the nails now don't you?! I decided to try doing a glitter gradient again because I got some new glitter polish ;) LOL I used the amazing Lucy from Lucy's Stash's tutorial to do it and I think it turned out even better then last time! Take a look :)

Colors used:
- Lime Crime Milky Ways
- Orly Bubbly Bombshell

I still need to work on the whole getting sparse-er as the glitter goes down the nail but I would venture to say that this was pretty successful!

Disney Days: Snow White

No, just no.

Ahhhhh! Well welcome to another Saturday of Disney Days!! Today's day is Snow White :) I knew I was going to have trouble with this one AND I ran out of time again! I can't seem to find time to do anything lately -_- But the show must go on here.... pretend Snow White's face doesn't look as weird as it really does.... haha

I used way too many polishes to be able to list them all! But if there's a particular one you want to know about let me know and I'll do my best to remember :)

I decided to put her face on my thumb this time so the seven hats would all be together. MAN is it hard posing my hand with my thumb in every pic. On a better note I really love how the hats came out. Too bad Snow White had to go and ruin it! Lol Oh well you win some you lose some.

Make sure you check out the other two wonderful ladies doing this challenge with me!
Michelle from Mimi Manicures and Samantha from The Manicure Hut I'm sure theirs will be amazing!!! :)

Again if you want to join in the fun drop me an email at kjones622@hotmail.com! The more the merrier!!

We just love that stamp!

Hey guys!

I hope everyone's Valentine's Day went well! Nick ended up buying me a dozen roses and oh my gosh they smell so good! I would post a pic but I don't have a vase big enough at the moment -_- hahah so I need to go get one today...

So I showed my mom my nails yesterday and she just fell in love with the stamp I used! Since her mani was getting kind of old we decided to redo them with the stamp. :)  I'm loving the color she chose as a base, very Valentine's Day-ish... even if it's over ;)

Colors used:
- China Glaze Escaping Reality
- L.A. Colors striping polish in Black

What a great color to stamp over! I wish it didn't require so many coats (aka dry time -_-) but still the black looks just gorgeous over it!

Valentine's-aversary Nails!

Good morning!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!! I know people have mixed feelings about this day but I love it! I love it for a different reason though, today is mine and my boyfriend's 5 year anniversary! :) Yeah I know it's cliche that it's on Valentine's Day but hey whatever! He's a little rough on the edges but once you get to know him he's a big mush puddle ;) And he's probably going to kill me for saying that hahah!

Anyways on to the nails! I'm not going to lie I was going to do a super cool free-handed something or other but totally ran out of time :( But that's ok because I've really been wanting to use some of Bundle Monster's heart stamping plates! I also incorporated accent nails inspired from a tutorial on Youtube, you'll have to forgive me but I just don't have the time at the moment to go find out who it's from, if someone knows let me know in the comments so I can give credit for these awesome gradient hearts! So check out my Valentine's-aversary nails :)

Colors used:
- Lime Crime Parfait Day
- L.A. Colors striper polish in Black
- China Glaze Glistening Snow
- China Glaze Escaping Reality
- Sally Hansen White On

I could so use China Glaze Glistening snow in every mani for the rest of my life and die completely happy! LOL It's serious just such a beautiful polish! I wish I took some pics with flash (because you know there was no sun by the time I did these) to show off the prettiness. Maybe I'll take one tomorrow and post it up on Twitter! If you don't follow me you totally should! ;) @pinkandpolish if you wanna!

Bonus!! LOL So we don't really take pictures all that often so this is going back to Halloween hahah but here's a picture of us :) And yes I was Cookie Monster ;)

So what do you guys think?

Thanks for reading and have a lovely day!! :)

Mardi Gras!

Good morning!

I've got a green and purple mani for you guys today for Mardi Gras!! Woohoo! This design is actually one I've been DYING to try! The amazing Sarah over at Chalkboard Nails does these beautiful nails and paints a maze-like pattern over them. If you haven't been to her site then you HAVE to go! Her nails are literally always perfect! Needless to say I've been absolutely in love with them and had it on my to-try list forever! Well finally I've done it!

Colors used:
- Sinful Colors Let's Talk
- China Glaze Running in Circles
- Maybelline Color Show Bold Gold

You have to trust me that these looked SO awesome in person! There seems to be something wrong with my camera at the moment because it doesn't want to take a lot of crisp photos... strange. I haven't quite figured out why it's doing that so you'll have to suffice with these ;)

Also, if you've been here awhile then you know that I love Sinful Colors Let's Talk SO much! Unfortunately it likes to photograph much more blue then it really is. In real life it's a beautiful royal purple not this weird blurple color that you see hah!

But anyways what do you think?

Thanks for reading guys :)
