Cut the Rope!

Happy Sunday cupcakes!!

I hope you all are having a fantastic weekend! I've come down with my first cold of the season booooo!! :( But I'm trying to make the best of it and enjoy this beautiful Fall weather. I've got some really cool nails to show you guys today though!

I've been getting more and more into nail art lately and have been trying to challenge myself. I always have problems with coming up with inspiration for my nail art so I took to the app store and found this adorable app called Cut the Rope. It involves feeding this little green dude candy by swiping your finger across the screen to cut the rope the candy is attached to... can you say addicting?!? LOL 

So after I played the game... for a few hours ;) I decided to do some nail art inspired by it! I won't explain how it did it because that would be a very long explanation lol! The base for the art is all polish and the art is mainly acrylic paints. 

Loved this so much! It did take me quite a while, around 3 hours I think, but I think it was totally worth it! I wore this design for 4 days before I could even bare to take it off! ;)

Neon tribal

Hello dears!

I'm not going to lie... I'm extremely jealous of anyone who can do a tribal nail... like I can't even handle it! Lol! But! I've been practicing and I think I'm improving! Improving enough to show you guys my attempt anyways ;) I'm not sure why exactly I used neon colors, I just kind of picked three colors I liked together and they just so happened to all be neon coincidence?! I don't think so!

I started off with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. Then I took China Glaze I'm With the Lifeguard, Nina Ultra Pro Blue Blaze, and Orly Highlighter and blocked off my nails. After that I took my smallest striping brush and outlined and doodled with some black acrylic paint. I top coated with Poshe and I was done! 

Since I love mattifying neons I was dying to see what these looked like mattified. I used NYC Matte Me Crazy below:

I'm not sure which way I like it better... I really love neons mattified but there's just something about that shine that stands out to me ;) Which way do you guys prefer?

The wild thing

I've got a short and sweet post for you guys today.

Remember my gradient from the other day?? Yeah well we all know I couldn't just leave it like that. I took out my stamping plates and took a look through them and when I saw the zebra pattern I realized that this little blog has been way lacking in the animal print department. I can't figure out why since I LOVE anything animal print! ;) 

Anyways I started this manicure off with my gradient from the other day using Color Club Kismet and Eternal Beauty. Then I used L.A Colors striping polish in Black and stamped using BM- 223. Top coat with Poshe and it was done! 

SPARKLE!!!! ;)

Love love love this! Zebra print has always been my favorite and I love the way it looks over a gradient like this.

Mish Mash Challenge: Least Expensive Polish(es)

Oh hi guys! :) 

Today is Wednesday and that means another Mish Mash Challenge day! Would you all hate me if I cheated just a teensie bit? O.O The theme for today is least expensive polishes. Now technically the two polishes I used today are not the least expensive I own by any means. BUT my mother gifted these to me so technically they were free right? ;) Ugh it's a bit of a stretch but I painted one of my favorite designs ever on my nails yesterday and I just couldn't bear to take them off so I took a little search through my archives and found this baby just begging to be posted! 

I started this manicure off with a base of Color Club Kismet. Then I sponged Color Club Eternal Beauty to create the gradient. I top coated with some Poshe and I was finished! 

I just love using Color Club holos for gradients they are so much fun!!

I hope you guys don't hate me too much :( Make sure you check out everyone else because I know their nails will be awesome!!

Incoco Fall 2013: A Tailored Fit Swatches

I didn't bore you too much with my last post did I? ;) I hope not lol! But I've got some more fun for you guys today. Today September 10th Incoco is releasing their Fall 2013 nail polish appliques line called A Tailored Fit. This collection contains five creme shades and three pretty shimmer shades. Within that there are three straight cremes and five different designs. I've got four pretty shades to show you guys today.

Let's get started shall we?

Autumn Night is a pretty dusty navy blue creme. Great color for fall and super shiny. Though it made me look a little pale because well, I am. ;) 

Twill Weave is a nude base creme with a deep red chevron pattern. This is probably my favorite of the collection, I love chevron patterns and this one is just eye catching enough! 

Tailored Fit is an "army color combination" meaning browns, tans and army greens, houndstooth pattern over a nude base. Also a creme. I love all of the different colors used here, subdued yet fun. Very fall-esque!

Light As A Feather is a golden tan shimmer with a gorgeous pink / purple feather design by the cuticles. What a gorgeous design!

Application with these is very easy, just stick on clean nails, smooth down, and file off excess. The only one that gave me some issues was Light As A Feather. The shimmers seem to be slightly thinner and it's easier to get wrinkles. But that just means you have to be careful!

And so the journey begins...

Hey guys!

So I've got some news for you all today. I've realized that 2013 has been one of the most life changing years for me. It has been filled with quite a few sad and tragic events, but from the sadness I've grown stronger. It has also been filled with new beginnings, new love, new experiences, and a new outlook on life. I have decided to take control of my life and do something very special for myself, something that I have wanted to do for a very long time, even before this little old blog got started...

That's right I'm going to school to become a licensed nail tech!! :) 

Nails have always been a passion of mine, I first fell in love when I was about 12 and my mom started painting my nails. Back then it was all pinks and reds and I loved them all! I lost sight of my dream through some of my teenage years where stress and the need to spend all of my time elsewhere took their toll and I began to bite my nails. My biting habit got very bad until I rediscovered my love for nail polish. It all started with me painting my nails just so I wouldn't bite them and it slowly turned into an obsession and well, here we are now. ;) 

And now, because I think a post without pictures isn't very fun here's a cool little then and now. Sometimes I like to look back at the beginnings of this blog to see just how far I've come. :)

I've come so far and know there is so much farther to go! I can't wait to see where this blog is going to go. But it would be no where without you guys, I can't even begin to explain how happy I am to be a part of this nail polish community. You guys make me want to challenge myself and bring you great nail designs! So thank you all from the very bottom of my heart!

Black and white and blue all over

Hi dolls!

I hope you liked those glitter tips last time because I couldn't resist doing some more! I used to be so afraid to do anything that showed my natural nail because my nails are stained from all the polish I wear all the time. But ever since I found that unnamed sheer pink polish I'm afraid no more!! ;) This polish does such a great job making my nails look like they aren't stained. I could actually go almost all nakey nail here and I would be ok! 

I started this manicure with two coats of the unnamed sheer pink polish. Once that was dry I used a make up sponger ripped in half and Color Club Over the Moon to create the faded tip. Then I used Hard Candy Black Tie Optional for the glitter. I love a good black and white glitter and this one is no exception! I finished with some Poshe top coat and I was good to go :) 

I really love how the black and white glitter stands out against Color Club Over the Moon. This was really stunning in the sun too! I wish I got some sun pictures -_- But I suppose you'll have to use your imagination! 

I love how clean a french mani can look and it's fun to try different color combos! What's your favorite color for a glitter tip manicure?
