Mish Mash Challenge: Flowers

Hello loves!

I can't believe it's Wednesday already! I don't know about you guys but this week is just flying by! Anyways, it's time for another Mish Mash Challenge day. Today's theme is flowers and I have to say this is the first challenge that I'm not quite satisfied with. I had a super headache yesterday so they aren't as intensive as my other challenge days :( I suppose I should quit whining and just show you guys though right? LOL

I started with a base of Azature White. Then I freehanded the striped using Maybelline Color Show Green With Envy, totally mint not green -_- Then I painted the flowers... roses?... with pink and white acrylic paint and the leaves with green. I top coated and then it was done!

I really like the abstract feel to the flowers they were super easy to create, just two dots of paint and swirled together with a toothpick. Do they look enough like flowers?

What do you think guys?
Make sure you check out everyone else's flower nails!

This is Halloween

Hi pumpkins

Well, it's that time of year again! I love October because that means Halloween nail designs! You know pumpkins, spiderwebs, black cats and all that good stuff ;) Hopefully I'll be able to get a bunch in this year before the 31st comes.

To kick off my first Halloween design of the year I wanted to do something that I haven't done before. I see Nightmare Before Christmas nails all over the interwebz and felt the need to give them a shot myself. I have to say I'm pretty happy with the way these turned out so make sure you take a look :)

I started with a base of Wet'n'Wild Black Creme on my thumb, middle, and ring finger. On my index and pinky I used Azature White. I freehanded the black stripes on my index and pinky and painted the rest of the details on with acrylic paints. I had to use two coats of top coat to smooth everything out.

Awwww Zero! :)

I'm still experimenting with my photos, I really love the soft feel to these ones, I'm not sure if they are too washed out but the polish colors are true to life. So we shall see! ;)

But these nails we're super fun and I almost couldn't bear to take them off! I can't wait to do some more Halloween designs so keep a close watch for the next one!

Thanks so much lovelies :)

Mish Mash Challenge: Book

Hi chickies!

Well we've made it through the first half of another week! I hope it has been a good one for all of you. Mine has been pretty laid back... thankfully! Sometimes crazy weekends can be fun, and sometimes they can be pretty crappy. All I'll say is that I'm glad it's over ;)

Anyways who's ready for another mish mash challenge day?! Today's theme is book and I was so excited! I've really been wanting to do some Dr. Seuss nails for a while now and today's theme was a perfect way to get them on here :)

I started with a base of Lime Crime Once in A Blue Mousse on all of my nails. Then I painted all of the details on with acrylic paints. When everything was pretty dry I added the top coat and the design was finished!

Before you look at the pictures I've got to tell you guys that they look a little different. I've still been struggling with my camera settings, I really can't figure out whats wrong with it. But I've decided to change my background color from black to white to see if you guys like it better. Also, my last picture is a bit of an experiment, I changed my settings to hi-key and the picture came out super light... I'm not going to lie I kind of like the way it looks LOL! So check them out :)

What do you think? Do you like the white background better? I think it showcases the polishes better then the black did. And what about that last picture? I really like the way it came out. Let me know if you think I should keep them this way!

Thanks so much loves and don't forget to check out everyone else's book nails for today! :)

Serum No. 5 Swatches and Review

Hey chickies!

Sorry about my short absence! This weekend has just been so crazy! I'm definitely ready to get back on track!  And what better way to get there then a review of some gorgeous polishes from Serum No. 5? :)

As A Matte'A Fact is a sparkly matte top coat that has a suede-like finish. It's such a unique finish I had a lot of fun layering it over a bunch of different polishes ;) The formula was smooth and applied easily. Swatches below are two coats of As A Matte'A Fact over China Glaze Bizarre Blurple and Spoiled Distant Memory.

Sky Lights is a gorgeous glow-in-the-dark top coat with a blue iridescent shimmer from blue iridescent glitter particles. The formula was quite smooth but it dried slightly matte so make is shine with top coat. I'm loving the glow too... why you ask? Because it's BLUE! Yep I said blue. ;) Swatches below are two coats of Sky Lights over Wet'n'Wild Black Creme and Azature White.

April Showers is an iridescent topper with matte white glitter. There is a subtle iridescent shimmer that gives the nail a gorgeous sheen. The formula was slightly thick as to be expected with glitter but it was still easy to work with. Swatches below are two coats (one applied normally and one dabbed) of April Showers over Lime Crime Lavendairy and Azature White.

Beach Cruisin' is a mix of blue, green, and yellow hexagon glitters in a milky nude base. The glitters can sometimes look to have a reflective curl but they definitely lay flat on the nail. I was really surprised at how smooth the formula was for this one. I expected thicker because of the glitter but it was really smooth! The base of this polish is quite sheer so you will probably want to layer it over a like color. Swatches below are two coats (one applied normally and one dabbed) of Beach Cruisin' over Lime Crime Milky Ways

Serum No. 5 retails for between $7 - $7.50USD and can be purchased at www.serumno5.com. Make sure you stay up to date with new products and happenings by following on their social media sites!

Pa-pa-pa-poker Face

Hi loves

Did I just get Lady Gaga stuck in your head?!? Lol! I got the idea for these nails a little while ago when I found an old pack of playing cards at my house. I completely forgot how brain numbing and addicting card games can be!

I started with a base of Azature White and then painted on the suits with black and red acrylic paints. For the thumb I used and aqua acrylic paint to make the 'card' design and then outlines it with white acrylic paint. A coat of Poshe and the design was finished!

These were actually really fun to create and wear! I got so many comments on them! I wish the pictures were better though someone messed with my camera so my hands are looking so discolored and it wont focus on my nails! SO FRUSTRATING because I can't figure out how to fix it! Oh well I suppose.

What's your favorite card game? :)

Mish Mash Challenge: Triangle

Hi chickies!

I can't believe it's October already!! Where has the year gone? I guess I can't deny fall anymore *sniff sniff* bye bye summer :( But it is wednesday so at least there's a mish mash challenge to cheer me up right?! This weeks theme is triangle. I couldn't figure out what to do so I just kind of winged it until I came up with something I liked and man, I really like these!

I started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and created a gradient on top of that with Lime Crime Peaches <3 Cream, Lime Crime Parfait Day, and Kiss Striper Polish in Soft Blue. When that was dry I freehanded the triangle/swirly thing on top with black acrylic paint. Some Poshe top coat on top and the design was finished!

I really like the whole abstract, illusion-y look of these nails. I hope they are triangle enough for you guys!

Don't forget to check out everyone's triangle designs for today!
Thanks so much loves :)
