Hi chickies!
Well we've made it through the first half of another week! I hope it has been a good one for all of you. Mine has been pretty laid back... thankfully! Sometimes crazy weekends can be fun, and sometimes they can be pretty crappy. All I'll say is that I'm glad it's over ;)
Anyways who's ready for another mish mash challenge day?! Today's theme is book and I was so excited! I've really been wanting to do some Dr. Seuss nails for a while now and today's theme was a perfect way to get them on here :)
I started with a base of Lime Crime Once in A Blue Mousse on all of my nails. Then I painted all of the details on with acrylic paints. When everything was pretty dry I added the top coat and the design was finished!
Before you look at the pictures I've got to tell you guys that they look a little different. I've still been struggling with my camera settings, I really can't figure out whats wrong with it. But I've decided to change my background color from black to white to see if you guys like it better. Also, my last picture is a bit of an experiment, I changed my settings to hi-key and the picture came out super light... I'm not going to lie I kind of like the way it looks LOL! So check them out :)
What do you think? Do you like the white background better? I think it showcases the polishes better then the black did. And what about that last picture? I really like the way it came out. Let me know if you think I should keep them this way!
Thanks so much loves and don't forget to check out everyone else's book nails for today! :)
Your mani is gorgeous! And so much work! Love it ^^ As for the last picture, I think it looks a little washed out? I prefer the other ones :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much lady!! :) I'm so torn on the pictures, I really love the light feel to the last picture, true it does look a little washed out but the polish is pretty true to life.... hmmm decisions decisions :)
DeleteYour mani is amazing! I like the white background better.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Amy!! I definitely think that I will be keeping the white background :)
DeleteYour design is so awesome! I personally like a white background, I think it looks crisp and makes the polishes stand out. For awhile I contemplated changing my background to black but in the end stuck it out with the white. I like the soft look of the last photo, I chose that one to put on pinterest :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much lady!! I have always loved the black background but now that I changed to white I like it even better! You are so sweet thank you!! :)
DeleteOh this is a super well painted and fun mani, well done Kristine!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Maria!! :) Dr. Seuss has been one of my favorites forever lol!
DeleteThank you so much!! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!!!! These are incredible!! You did a fabulous job!!! Such an artist!
ReplyDeleteAnd I do like the white and black backgrounds. I have both and it depends on the season as to which I use...summer, light colored nails, dark background....winter, dark nails, white background.
But your fabulous art will show up on any background :)
Awww thank you so much Dionne!!! :) And seasonal is such a great idea I keep going back and forth lol!
DeleteThis is super cute. I love that book.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Cin!!! :) Dr. Seuss will always be my favorite lol
DeleteI think white it always the best background choice!
ReplyDeleteAnd your nails are perfect!! I especially love the detailing on the thumb nail!
I do quite like the white background, it's refreshing! And thank you so much lady!!! :)
DeleteCute mani! I love how much details you put in. :)
ReplyDeleteI like the white background, but I also really liked your black one too. I think your manis look just amazing either way. :D

Thank you so much Yun!!! :) You are too sweet! I can't seem to decide because I like them both as well :)
DeleteAwesome.. I think this is super cute =)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!!! :)
DeleteOh my gosh, so cute! And I'm so jealous of your skills! Looks great
ReplyDeleteLol you are too sweet!! Thank you so much!!! :)
DeleteUm, there is no photograph of these nails that's going to look bad. These are so awesome I can't even tell you! Seriously, in awe over here!
ReplyDeleteLOL! You are way too nice!! Thank you so much Natalie!!! :)
DeleteYour works are always so well-done, precise and flawless! I love this manicure, as usual! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Cristina! Your comment definitely made me smile!!! :)
DeleteDang woman! Is there anything you can't paint on your nails? LOL
ReplyDeleteI know lil to nothing about photography. I just use my phone camera then tweak the color & light levels to what they should be cuz my pc tends to wash out the color & either goes lighter or darker than reality.
Keep fussing with the settings until you find what you like...then write it down jic. <3
LOL! And thanks lady I will... I just wish I knew more about my silly camera ;) I just press buttons and wait to see what happens haha! Thank you so much Inky!! :)
DeleteOh gosh, I feel like a broken record when I keep saying you are an artist! I love the white background, but I didn't mind the black one either. And the last picture is so chic! It probably wouldn't work for swatches but it's great for showing nail arts!
ReplyDeleteYou're right I probably won't use this type for swatches... I may even keep the black for those because I think it shows off the polish so well :) But I really do like the white background for nail art! And thank you so much Simona!!! :)
DeleteThese are so perfectly done!! Just amazing. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Michelle!!! :)
Deletewow!!! and i mean wow!!
ReplyDeleteLol!! Thank you so much lady!!! :)
DeleteI love the inspiration! Dr Seuss is certainly something! Hmm I'd say it depends, since if you do review of polishes, readers would prefer pictures that are close to the real thing - the closer, the better. If it's just nail art, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to give your pictures an artistic spin.
ReplyDeleteI have an alternative suggestion you can consider. How about image hover over effects? You can have the display ones to be 'washed out' and when mouse over, a more 'normal' image/colours will appear. Haha, that way you can have them both :P
Dr. Seuss is always great for some inspiration! :) And that's a great idea, I'm not so sure I know how to do that but hey that's what google is for right?? LOL Thanks you so much!!! :)
