31DC2014 Day 5: Blue

Blue, blue, how I love you!

When I was just a small whippersnapper my favorite color was blue. I've since graduated to the beauty that is pink and SPARKLES, but for the longest time blue was so my thing. I've still got a soft spot for it in my heart though, and there's something super special about this one... keep reading to find out what it is!

Day five for the 31DC2014 is blue if you didn't catch on! ;)

So before I tell you what colors I used for this design I should tell you what makes the blue so special..... I made it! This blue is named Blue Ribbon Baby and it's from my fall line "Welcome To The Country Fair" that is launching TOMMORROW! Eeeeeeeep! I'm so excited! I absolutely love this blue, it may be my favorite from the entire collection, it's so juicy and has just the right amount of holographic-ness :) I really hope you guys like it! And if you really, really like it you can purchase it HERE tomorrow!!! Read on to see the pretty!

Okay back to the design!

I started off with a base of Color Club Cosmic Fate. When it dried I cut out thin triangles of tape, applied them to my nails, and used The Little LacquerBean (<-ME;)) Blue Ribbon Baby on top. I peeled the tape off to reveal small triangles of CC Cosmic Fate. I sealed everything in with some Essie Good To Go and the design was finished!

Ahh I'm so excited to finally share this color with you guys! And keep an eye out because I will be posting proper swatches of the whole collection either later on today of tomorrow. I hope you guys like them and I hope that maybe there's a place in your home for some of my pretties!

Don't forget! Post a link to your 31DC2014 Day 5: blue nails in the comments below!!

Thanks so much loves :)

Simply spiked

Hey loves!

I must really be on a role with these simple designs because I think I love these ones even more then the sparrows!

You can't really ever go wrong with white and nude nails. They are the epitome of class and will absolutely never go out of style. It's always fun to grab a white and nude polish and see what you can create. More often then not the final result will be cool and classy. I took a bit more of a daring spin on this simple combination, I added some holographic extra and some petite spikes to boot ;)

I started with a base of Color Club Cosmic Fate, an orangey holo but just neutral enough. When that was dry I took some tape and cut it into long triangle shapes and stuck them on my nails by my cuticles. After they were positioned correctly I painted over everything with a generous layer of Essie Blanc. I peeled off the tape to reveal cute spikes and topped everything off with Poshe top coat to finish the design.

I really enjoy this design, especially with neutral colors like this. And the holographic base just gives it that little extra oopmh to make it interesting.

What about you guys? What is your favorite white and nude combination?

Thanks loves :)

Mish Mash Challenge: Metallic

Hi cupcakes!

It's Wednesday so you know what that means right?! Another challenge day for the Mish Mash Challenge hosted by Kimber's Lacquer Korner. :) Today's challenge day theme is metallic. I know exactly what you guys are going to say when you see mine... "another tape mani really?" But hey I didn't know what else to do! And I always love how tape manicures end up so... deal with it yo! ;)

Anyways, I don't actually own very mani metallic polishes because I don't like them. I don't like being able to see brush strokes and generally I'm just not a big fan of the way they look. But I do have a few and decided to go with a gold, silver, bronze look here.

To start off I painted all of my nails with Sally Hansen InstaDri Silver Sweep. Then I taped off my nails and painted with Maybelline Color Show Bold Gold and ELF Copper. After that I took all three colors and free handed some more triangles on the sides and inside the other ones. Then I used NCY Matte Me Crazy because I like the way metallics look mattified better and added a rhinestone to each and I was done!

What do you think? I'm so iffy on metallics but I actually kind of liked how these turned out! I think the matte top coat made me like it more too it made the brush strokes less visible in my opinion.

I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with don't forget to check them out!
Thanks guys :)

The Lazy 15: Tape

Good morning all my lovely readers!

Today is the first day of my new challenge The Lazy 15! Today's prompt is tape mani :) I knew when I saw this one I wanted to play with my striping tape again! I don't do many manis with striping tape because they just take SO long :( But I actually had fun doing this one excpet for one thing that I have to say right now.... I HATE THE YELLOW STRIPE ON MY POINTER FINGER! Whew I feel better ;) But really just ignore that last stripe because it really bothers me :( Take a look! :)

Colors used:
- Sally Hansen Teal Steel
- China Glaze Sun-Kissed
- Sinful Colors Let's Talk

I'm pretty pleased at how these came out besides my pointer. I really like my ring finger though if it didn't take so long I would have done them all like that!

So what do you guys think? Are you excited to see another challenge on here?!

Thanks for reading and make sure you check out all of the other challengers below!!! :)
