Squishy Face Polish Milky Way, Polaris, and Annalisa

Hello loves!
I've got a brand new to me indie polish brand to share with you all today! Squishy Face Polish is a based out of Santa Ana, CA and the owner, Alice is so sweet! I've got three shades from her Cosmic Fall 2013 collection to share.

Milky Way is a linear holographic blue leaning lavender polish. The holographic effect is pretty strong in this polish. It is pretty sheer, I have three thicker coats on in the pictures below but you might want to layer it over a like color to conserve polish. Even though it's sheer the formula is fantastically smooth. Pictures below are three coats with one coat of top coat. Last picture is with flash to show the holographic effect.

Super cute bottle! ^.^

Polaris is a linear holographic mix between a forest green and a hunter green. It's a really unique and gorgeous color. The formula on this one was the same as Milky Way, sheer but applied easily. You should probably layer it over a like color. I hear it's super stunning over black though I'll have to try that out! The holographic effect isn't as strong as Milky Way but it's still very there. Below is three thick coats and one coat of top coat. Last picture is with flash to show the holographic effect.

Annalisa is a stunning bright blue scattered holographic polish. Formula was sheer but built nicely and it applied like butter. I love the holographic particles in this one when they catch the light it sparkled like crazy! Below is three thick coats with one coat of top coat. Last picture is with flash to show the scattered holographic effect.

Squishy Face Polish retails for between $8.00USD-$10USD and can be purchased here at http://squishyfacepolish.storenvy.com/. Stay up to date with new releases by following her on Instagram.

What do you think? I'm loving this Fall collection!

Drip, drip, drip...

Hello cupcakes!

I've got some nail art today that I've been wanting to try for a very long time. I had some free time the other day and thought I'd give them a try and boy am I sure glad I did! ;)

So.... galaxy drip nails anyone?

I used a lot of colors here but I'm going to try to remember what I used. I started with a base of ELF Sea Escape. Then I used a torn up makeup sponge and sponged on Maybelline Color Show Navy Narcissist, Color Club Eternal Beauty, Lime Crime Parfait Day, and Azature White to create the galaxy look. Then I put on some dots and a few stars with white acrylic paint. After that was dry I painted a layer of China Glaze Fairy Dust. And FINALLY I created the drips using Azature White. *deep breath* LOL!

*Ahem* I think these nails are out of this world if I do say so myself ;) Besides taking forever to create I loved having these on I think I actually kept them on for like four days! I wonder if there is an easier way to do this design though.. I feel like doing the galaxy nails on all my nails was kind of a waste of time because I covered so much of it up. Hmmmmm... must do some research!! :)

Thanks so much loves!

Mish Mash Challenge: Blue

Hello loves!

Ahhhhhh! So I was supposed to post something yesterday I'm so sorry guys! This nail tech course is a LOT more intensive then I thought it would be. But don't worry I refuse to let it take me away from this blog :)

Anyways today is Wednesday and we all know that means more Mish Mash challenge! Today's theme is blue, too bad I didn't see this before I could have used last weeks nails for this! -_- Lol oh well!!

I didn't really know what to do for today's theme so I kind of just doodled until I came up with a design that I thought might work. I finally decided on a design that was supposed to look like cubes but it ended up coming out a little more abstract then that.

I started off drawing the design on my nails with black acrylic paint. Then I went back and filled in the diamonds with Maybelline Color Show Navy Narcissist, Maybelline Color Show Blue Blowout, and Sally Hansen Silver Sweep. I went over the lines again with acrylic paint. I added some Poshe to finish the design!

Overall I think they came out pretty cool! I'm so loving the length of my nails... but as soon as I post this I have to go file them down quite a bit :( I've been trying to save a few breaks for a while and it's just not working anymore. *sigh* What's your favorite nail growth product?

Thanks so much lovelies! Don't forget to check out everyone else's blue nails today! :)

Vroom vroom!

Hey chickies

I was seriously lacking some nail inspiration a little while ago so I decided to use some outside sources and find out what they wanted to see on my nails. My boyfriend came up with a great idea... he just recently picked up a new motorcycle and thought it would be cool if I did some nails inspired by them. Now the bike he just picked up is pretty cool, it has chameleon paint on it that changes from emerald green to a pretty navy blue. It also has this silver crackle paint on the top. This gave me like 237489345649 ideas but I'm pretty happy with the one I decided on.

I tried to find a polish as close to the chameleon paint as I could get.... turns out I didn't have an exact match but the one I chose will have to do ;)

To start this design a painted a base of Pure Ice Silver Mercedes. Then I created a ruffian look using China Glaze Unpredictable. I took Bundle Monster's place BM-208 and stamped with Pure Ice Silver Mercedes to give it that crackle-y effect. I top coated with some Poshe and was done!

*trying* to catch the shift here.... didn't really work -_- lol

It came out much lighter then I intended... I think if I layered CG Unpredictable over a black base it would have given me better results. But oh well I still quite liked these nails and the boyfriend loved them ;) LOL

And bonus picture!! Here's his new bike.

Snazzy!!! ;) Lol!
What's your favorite duochrome polish?
Thanks chickies! :)

Hello loves!

I've got a super fun post for you guys today, especially if you love glow in the dark stuff! ;) Daisy from the Born Pretty Store was kind enough to send me these really cool glow in the dark water decals to show you guys. The ones I chose were supposed to be french tip designs but I decided to change it up a bit and show you that they can be versatile too!

So.... how about some ruffian nails instead??

I started this look off with a base of Wet n Wild Black Creme, the best black I own, so glossy! Then I applied the water decals following the directions on the back of the package, did some clean up and added some Poshe. And tadaa! Super simple :)

Not really sure why my hand looks discolored here -_- LOL

Mish Mash Challenge: Cold + HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BLOG!!

Hello lovlies!

How's everyone's week going? Mine started out pretty crappy, I was super sick at the start but thankfully I'm feeling better now. Anyways since today's Wednesday it's time for another Mish Mash Challenge! Today's post is kind of a combination post, a challenge day and an inspiration nation day. :)

Also, If you read the title you already know.... It's my blog's birthday!! Woohoo!! One whole year ago I tentatively posted my very first post to empty air. I was afraid of criticism but my love for polish couldn't be stopped! ;) Starting this blog was the very best decision I have ever made and I'm so proud to be a part of this amazing nail community. I can't believe I've made it this far and I can't wait to see how far I can go!

That being said, I want to thank you guys for making this blog what it is, I am going to be posting a giveaway on here soon to show you guys how much I appreciate you! But, I want to know if any of you bloggers out there want to join up with me to make this a collaborative giveaway!!
If you want to join in send me an email at kjones622@hotmail.com

You guys are the best!!! :)

Anyways, the theme for the challenge is cold. Now when I think cold I always think of rain... yes I know rain isn't always cold BUT it's what comes to my mind so deal with it!! ;) Since I thought of rain my mind immediately went to a tutorial that I've recently seen from the lovely and super talented Lucy of Lucy's Stash! She did a tutorial a short while ago of water drop nails. I fell in love with them as soon as I saw them and I'm so excited I finally got the chance to try them out!

To start off this design I started with a base of Color Club Over the Moon. I feel like I use Color Club holos in every manicure I do.... that's ok though because they're gorgeous!! Then I used Navy Blue and White acrylic paints and followed Lucy's tutorial to create the water drops. I top coated with Poshe and was all finished!

I am SUPER proud of how these came out!. Lucy made her tutorial so easy to follow and these nails took me less then and hour and a half! I was amazed LOL! So hopefully rain drops don't count as cheating.

So what do you think guys? Make sure you check out everyone else's cold designs today!
Thanks loves! :)

Feeling crabby

Crabby?

Nahhh I don't mean I'm a grump today but there's a cute little visitor on my ring finger ;)

I haven't done nautical nails in almost a year. Back when I first started I came out with these babies and I was darn proud of them!! So I figured it was time for another go at some nautical nails and I'm wondering why I waited so long!

I started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and then painted some free hand thick stripes with some navy blue acrylic paint. On my ring finger I took some red, white, and black acrylic paint to draw out my little crabby friend :) Top coat it all with some Poshe and I was good to go!

I like how the lines aren't really crisp this time because I feel like it gives is a more 'sea-like' feel.... if that makes any sense at all -_- I'm definitely going to do some more nautical nails in the future... maybe with some anchors! ;)

Thanks lovelies!
