New Years mani take two!

Happy New Years Eve Day everyone ;)

Too bad my bank doesn't close early for that -_- LOL Oh well! So I recently saw THIS design from the lovely Lydia of Lydia's Nails and knew that I would have to do something similar for New Years. I can't believe I've never tried a glitter gradient!! I love gradients so much you guys probably know that but I think I was too afraid of the removal process that is involved with removing glitter... By the way I'm NOT looking forward to taking these off LOL! Any ways check out my glitter gradient nails for New Years! :)

Colors used:
- China Glaze Glistening Snow
- Claire's Starstruck Flying Saucer
- Claire's Starstruck Cosmic

Mmmmm SPARKLE!! :)

SO SPARKLY! I'm going to have to be very careful when driving today ;) These are definitely the nails I will be wearing for New Years even though I'm not doing anything LOL! If you don't follow me on twitter you should, I'll be keeping you all updated on how the removal process is going ;) I'm sure it won't be well hahaha!

So what do you guys think?

Thanks for reading and Happy New Year!! :)

New Years mani take one

Hi guys!

New Years is fast approaching and I have to confess I'm a bit of a fuddy-duddy because I don't do anything... LOL oh well ;) BUT I still did a few New Years manis and I have one to show you today!

When I think of New Years I always think of black and gold. I was so excited about getting Zoya Storm for Christmas that I wasn't ready to take it off just yet so I grabbed my stamps and stamped some gold zebra stripes over it! More animal print... ooops ;) Take a look!

Colors used:
- Zoya Storm
- Maybelline Color Show Bold Gold

Love it! Yes I know my ring finger got a bit messed up -_- *sigh* They can't all be perfect right? ;) LOL

What do you guys think? Do you do anything fun for New Years?

Thanks for reading :)

Swatched: Lime Crime Les Desserts d'Antoinette

Good morning lovely people!

I'm sure many of you have heard of Lime Crime's line of nail polish, the lovely pastels that has the nail polish world drooling.... well me anyways ;) LOL Ever since I saw my first swatches of these babies I knew I had to have them! But I'm on the cheap side so I couldn't convince myself to spend that much money on little old me... well guess who got them for Christmas?! THIS GIRL :) Come see these pretties with me!

Ok first up is Lavendairy,

Lavendairy is a light purple pastel creme polish. It's definitely a shade that stands out as do the others! I was a little weary of the application because I read that some other bloggers said it was a little tricky. Lavendairy actually wasn't too bad on application... the first coat was a little streaky and it didn't self level very well but a nice coat of top coat smooths everything out anyways :) Below is three coats of Lavendairy and one coat of top coat. Three coats is probably best for full opacity.

Next up is Crema de Limon,

Crema de Limon is a very pretty bright yellow pastel creme polish. I was happily surprised with this one. I find that most yellow polishes are streaky at best and a horror to apply... at least the ones I have are LOL. Crema de Limon is streaky with the first coat but builds up beautifully. This one also had some self leveling issues but like I said before nothing some good top coat can't fix. Below is three coats of Crema de Limon and one coat of top coat. Three coats is needed for full opacity here as well.

Moving on to Milky Ways,

Milky Ways is a gorgeous nude / off white pastel creme polish. I absolutely love this one! It's a very pretty nude for my skin tone... maybe a little light but oh well! Milky Ways had the same application as the others but seemed slightly less streaky. Below is three coats of Milky Ways and one coat of top coat. Three coats are necessary for opacity.

Next is Once in a Blue Mousse,

Once in a Blue Mousse is a light blue pastel creme polish. This one is probably my least favorite of the group. Don't get me wrong it's a very beautiful color but I just don't think it worked very well with my skin tone. In person this seemed to have a very light gray tone to it on me at least. Application was the same as the others. Below is three coats of Once in a Blue Mousse and one coat of top coat. Three coats are needed for opacity.

Next in the line up is Parfait Day,

Parfait Day is a pink pastel creme polish and may be the most bubble gum-esque polish I've ever seen! Serious gorgeous-ness. I felt like Barbie wearing this one and loved every second of it ;) LOL Parfait Day had the same application as the others and needs three coats for full opacity. Below is three coats of Parfait Day and one coat of top coat.

You better put your sunglasses on for the next one, Pastelchio

Pastelchio is a strange mix of neon and pastel... I didn't even know it was possible! LOL It's a bright green neon pastel creme polish. This one is the one I was looking forward to the most it's just so unique! I knew it would be my favorite and it definitely is. Application is the same as the others and also needs three coats for opacity. I could not stop staring at my nails when I put this on and I can't even tell you all how many compliments I got on them. Below is three coats of Pastelchio and one coat of top coat.

Last but certainly not least is Peaches  Cream

Peaches  Cream is a very pretty orange/mango pastel creme polish. I find it very hard to find an orange polish that works well with my skin tone but had high hopes for this one. Looks like my suspicions were right, I love this color! It really stood out on my nails and didn't make my skin look all weird like most orange polishes do. Application is the same as the others and you need three coats for full opacity. Below is three coats of Peaches  Cream and one coat of top coat.

These polishes totally surpassed my expectations! And look at those bottles! I love the whole frosted glass look and the logo is too cute. If you haven't gotten any of the Lime Crime polishes yet I highly recommend them! It looks like a lot of them are sold out at the moment :( But I'm sure they'll be coming back in stock really soon!

So what do you guys think? Are pastel polishes in?

Thanks for reading :)

Swatched: Zoya Ornate Aurora, Blaze, Storm and 18K Top Coat

Good morning everyone!

I've got part of my polishes I received for Christmas swatched! I was so excited to get some of the Zoya Ornate collection I've literally been drooling over it ever since I saw my first swatch! LOL! The three I have are Aurora, Blaze, and Storm. I also got the 18K Top Coat which I snuck in here too ;)

Ok let's start off with Zoya Aurora
Zoya Aurora is a purple based polish packed with holographic particles. I was happily surprised that Aurora dried completely smooth, no bumpy of roughness the generally comes with glitter holo pieces. Pictured below are three coats of Aurora with one coat of top coat. Aurora is opaque in two coats but for the purpose of swatching I used three to be safe.

'

What do you say we get these puppies in the sun... or bright artificial light ;)

Look at that holo!

Next up is Zoya Blaze

Zoya Blaze is a gorgeous rich wine red based polish with loads of holographic particles in it. I actually loved this color more then I thought I would since I'm picky about my red polishes. Blaze dried smooth just like Aurora which is definitely a plus. Pictured below is three coats of Blaze and one coat of top coat. Like Aurora, Blaze is opaque in two coats but I did three to be safe.

What's that I hear? More sun/bright light pictures? Well of course!!

Number three is Zoya Storm

I was most excited to try out Zoya Storm because of all the swatches I saw, this polish stood way out! I mean what's better then a black holo? Not much I can tell you that :) Zoya Storm is a black based polish also packed with holographic particles. The holo particles really stand out in this one you don't even need a bright light to see that. Below is three coats of Zoya Storm with one coat of top coat. Two coats is perfectly fine for opacity though.

Even though you don't need bright light to see the holo why don't we see it anyways? ;)

yum!

Last up we've got the lovely 18K Gold Top Coat

I was super excited to receive the 18K Gold Top Coat with my other Zoya's I couldn't wait to try it out! This is my first time using a gold flake top coat and I most certainly wasn't disappointed! The flakes in the bottle are all different sizes which gives it great coverage on your nail. I did sort of place the flakes after I got them on my nail but I didn't have to go fishing for any in the bottle. Overall I'm really loving the effect! Below is one coat of Zoya's 18K Gold Top Coat over Zoya Storm

I didn't want the holo in Zoya Storm  to detract from the gold top coat to no sun/bright light pic here but there is a close up :)

This is my first experience with Zoya nail polishes and I am so hooked! The formula is fantastic, it's not too thick not too thin and you don't have to worry about the dreaded cuticle flooding. The colors are gorgeous and the bottles are cute too!

Sorry I'm rambling a bit LOL! What I'm trying to say is if you haven't tried it I recommend that you do :)

So what do you guys think?

Caviar anyone?

Good morning lovelies!

I finally have my very first caviar manicure for you guys today! As I said it is my first so BE NICE! Haha I have a few bald spots and such... I tried to fill them in but ended up just losing more -_- Anyone have any tips on how not to have bald spots? I'll gladly take them LOL :)

I wasn't sure how I felt about the whole caviar trend... they just seemed to unwearable... and really they kind of are. I ended up quite liking how they looked surprisingly. I would never be able to wear them for more then a few minutes though I'm a chronic nail picker and you all know what that means LOL Those little beads wouldn't stand a chance! But for picture taking purposes I thought they looked super cool!

Colors used:
- Sinful Colors Black on Black
- Maybelline Color Show Bold Gold

My camera completely freaked out color-wise when taking these photos. The gold really is MUCH brighter and prettier in person -_- Dumb camera lol! Besides the bald spots I think these are something I will definitely do again... as long as you guys like them ;)

Which brings me to my next question... what do you guys think?!

Thanks for reading all :)

Finally a braid!!

Good morning!

Happy day after Christmas everyone! :) I don't know about you guys but I'm POOPED! Lol!! But Santa was very good to me and gave me lots of polish to play with ;) So I'll be spending my day swatching those for you guys! Thank goodness I've got a few posts saved up so here's one where I was finally able to do a braided mani without messing it up! Enjoy :)

I'm so excited today because I've finally been able to do my first successful fishtail braided mani! Woohoo! I've always loved the way fishtail braided manis look but every time I did them I failed MISERABLY. I'm talking too bad to even show on here as a fail -_- LOL but I followed THIS tutorial by Lucy over at Lucy's Stash. I put mine way close together but it's the same concept hah! Lucy's nails are always AMAZING! I don't even know if she has the capability to do nails that are less then perfect LOL! And her tutorials are really great and easy to follow you guys should definitely go check her out! So here's what I came up with...

Colors used:
- ELF Misty Haze
- ELF Dazzle Diva
- Sinful Colors Cream Pink

I only did an accent nail because I figured I would screw up at least one if I did them all hah. I love the pink and gray combo I actually wore these nail for a whopping 3 days! That means I really had to like them LOL. I still need practice but I'm so happy I've finally been successful at one of these :)

What do you guys think? Do you like fishtail braided manis??
