A Patriotic French

I did two different designs to show you guys for Memorial Day but as you know I forgot to post them -_- I won't let that stop me though!

You've already seen my red, white, and blue watermarble and today I have a simple french with a patriotic flair.

There's nothing quite as refreshing as a clean and crisp french manicure and they're so easy to spice up! I started this design by creating my white tips using Essie Blanc and a clean up brush dipped in acetone to clean up the smile line. When that dried I layered OPI Bubble Bath over everything. I then created the dots using China Glaze Just Be-Claws and So Blue With Out You. I layered China Glaze Fairy Dust over the top for a pretty sparkle! I sealed everything in with some Poshe and the design was finished.

Now that my nails have finally started getting some length again I'm really loving the way french manicures look!

What about you guys? Whats your favorite french manicure combo?

Thanks loves :)

Like a sir

More stamping? Yes please!

I'm really having a fun time challenging myself to use all of the designs on my plates. And sometimes it's really difficult to come up with ideas, but sometimes it's also really easy, like these!

This monocle and mustache design had me dying on the inside. I mean come one it's SO CUTE! I figured that the best way to go with this particular design would be to just keep it simple and make the main focus the mustashied faces!

I started with a base of Sally Hansen Silver Sweep. I love using this as a base because it's part of Sally Hansen's quick dry collections so it dries super fast so there's less wait time for nail art! When it was dry I stamped over using BM-401 and L.A Colors Striping polish in black. I sealed everything in with Poshe top coat to finish.

I really love when images are so creative and unique like this one. The images need no help to be the center of attention!

What's your favorite plate image ever?!

Thanks loves :)

Happy Day After Memorial Day

Yep.

This post was definitely supposed to go live yesterday but I may or may not have forgotten to schedule it.... oops!

But I am quite smitten with this water marble so I'm still going to post it! ;) I hope all of you that celebrated Memorial Day had a wonderful day full of family and fun, but more importantly I hope you took a second to give thanks to all the men and women who gave their life and who are still fighting so that we can live the way we do!

I knew I wanted to do something red, white, and blue to celebrate and what better way then with a water marble manicure?!

Let me just start this off saying I should have done ANYTHING else -_- The water marbling gods must not have been happy with me when I did these because man, did they give me such an issue! It took me two long grueling hours until I was finally happy with the outcome.

Okay here we go! ;) I started with a base of Essie Blanc on all of my nails. I taped off around my nails while I was waiting for them to dry. When I was finished I did my marble using OPI Big Apple Red, Maybelline Color Show Clear, and Nina Ultra Pro Blue Blaze. I added a layer of China Glaze Fairy Dust and finally one coat of Poshe to seal everything in.

Red, white, and water marble!! Woo! LOL I hope you guys enjoy the rest of your week! I'll talk to you all soon!

Thanks loves :)

I'm bringing home a baby bumble bee!

Won't my momma be so proud of me! ;)

I've been itching to do a bumble bee design ever since I saw the cute honeycomb image in Bundle Monster's 2013 collection, and yes, it has taken me this long to do it LOL. But regardless it's done and I'm in love! I almost don't even care the the bees remind me a bit of spiders.... almost. I just couldn't look at them too quick or else I freaked out! I mean they don't really look like spiders, that much. But legs and wings and thin lines can often be mistaken as a furry little eight legged creature that I'm too scared to even squish! Yeah, yeah I know I'm a weenie WHATEVER :)

Let's just get to the nails shall we?

I started off with a base of Lime Crime Crema di Limon. When that was dry I stamped over it with BM-422 using Maybelline Color Show Bold Gold. Then I used L.A Colors Black and BM-401 for the little bumble bees, I just stamped them in different directions. I top coated everything with Poshe and the design was finished!

This nail design was super fun to wear on my nails! It looks so complicated but it's really quite simple to do. Have you done any bumble bee nails? Link them in my comments and I'll check them out!!

Thanks so much loves :)

Leadlight Stamping with OPI Sheer Tints

Finally!

Ever since I saw the first leadlight stamping technique I've been dying to try it! The process of leadlight stamping starts with painting your nails either white or a very light base. When it dries you stamp over it with a dark polish, black works best! After you're done stamping you go back and color in your design with sheer jelly polishes. It's so much fun! I decided to go with a more water-colored look and applied my sheer tints with some saran wrap, the colors may not be as vibrant but it is such a soft fun look!

For this look is started with a base of Essie Blanc and then stamped over it using BM-402 and L.A Colors Black. When I finished I took some saran wrap and dipped it into some globs of the OPI Sheer Tints and dabbed it on my nails. I sealed everything in with Poshe top coat to make it shine.

I was afraid that my water coloring technique would muddy up all of the colors and make a mess but I was very happy when that didn't happen. I really enjoy the leadlight technique and I definitly want to try it again. Maybe color something in like a painting ;) The possibilities!

Have you tried the leadlight technique? If you did leave the link in the comments and I'll be sure to check them out!

Thanks loves :)

I love nails!

I've decided to take on a new venture.

Often times I find myself sitting down at my desk, getting ready to paint my nails and then.... NOTHING. Absolutely nothing comes to my mush of a brain. And then I sit there, and sit there, and hey, I sit there some more! It gets so frustrating because I just want to paint my nails but for the life of me I can't think of what to paint. So, to solve that problem I've decided that every time I'm lacking "nailspiration" I'm going to take one of my Bundle Monster nail plates and do 5 or so designs using every image on that plate. Difficult? Challenge accepted ;) It's a good way to keep the creative juices flowing and I encourage everyone to try it! My designs won't be solely stamping, just here and there to fill in what my brain can't :)

Now, on to the design! The first plate I picked is BM-401 and what a fitting plate! There's an image on it that says "I <3 nails" and come on, could it get any more perfect?

I started the design off with a base of Ruby Wing Kitten Heels. When that was dry I painted on the nail polish bottles with black acrylic paint and filled them in using China Glaze So Blue Without You, Azature Light Blue, and Color Club Over the Moon. Then I stamped my ring finger with plate BM-401 and Maybelline Color Show Navy Narcissist. I added a generous layer of Poshe to seal everything in.

I really quite enjoyed this look it was super fun and easy and I got so many comments on them LOL!

What do you guys do when you're lacking "nailspiration"?
Thanks loves :)

Peachy-keen with a wild side

Animal print is back bishhhhhh ;)

I'll be the first to say that animal print is still sorely lacking on this little corner of the internet I like to call my blog. So when I picked up my polish and brushes the other night I just knew that the final product would have a wild side! I settled on this fairly simple peach zebra split design and I love the dainty peach with that little sliver of wild showing through :)

I started off with a base of Essie Blanc. When it dried I taped off 1/3 of my nails and stamped with Bundle Monster BM-223 and L.A. Colors Black striping polish. I took the tape off and painted the open 2/3 of my nails with Lime Crime Peaches <3 Cream. I took the L.A. Colors Black Striping polish again and created a divider between the print and the peach. Over the zebra portion I used China Glaze Fairy Dust to give it a little extra sparkle. I finished everything off with Poshe to give it a super shiny finish.

I really didn't have anything in mind as I was creating these nails but they came out surprisingly put together. I just kept adding on until I came to a finish I liked. I'm glad I stopped when I did because I usually end up putting on too much detail!! LOL

What do you guys do on your nails when you don't know what to do?!

Thanks loves :)

A special birthday celebration!

I just love birthdays don't you? I mean my birthday is my favorite ;) But I really love all birthdays, it gives you a reason to get all dressed up and go out and have a great time with the birthday boy/girl. Who wouldn't love that?!

Speaking of birthdays... someone special just turned 21! My baby of a boyfriend (yes I'm older than him LOL) turned the big 2-1 on April 30th and I have to say we all had such an amazing time!

I know this post is kind of late but hey, what do I always say? Better late then never right? And there's no way I wasn't going to show you guys these nails!

I told Tylor (the bf) he could decide what I wore on my nails for his birthday and the first words out of his mouth were "fire-chicken!" I know you guys won't get it lol but at his house we call everything chicken and he had just recently picked up an 85 Fire Bird that has the huge bird-logo-thing on the front and of course he wanted me to paint them on my nails. -_- <- that was literally the face I made at him LOL I was on a limited time schedule and he picks the most detailed thing he can think of! But it was his birthday so I sucked it up and gave him what he wanted :)

So I present to you the "fire-chicken nails". I started with a base of Wet'n'Wild Black Creme and waited for it to dry. When it was finally dry I used Maybelline Bold Gold and a small detail brush to paint in all of the details. On my four nails I did the abstract design to resemble the feathers in the logo and on my thumb I squeezed the whole chicken on there. I finished everything off with a layer of Poshe to give it a nice shine.

It's not my best work but for being so short on time I'm pretty proud of it and Tylor absolutely loved them so I'm happy that they came out the way they did!

What do you guys like to do on your nails for a birthday celebration?

Thanks for reading chickens! See ya next time ;)

Polka-dotted Flying Dragon

Oh. My. GOSH!

Well that was a long.... wait how long was it? Three weeks?! I can't believe I've been away from you guys for that long!!! I feel terrible :( But my nails were complete crap and then I got busy because I went on vacation to Florida for a week. I just got back yesterday so that's why I haven't posted. I had a few posts built up but I didn't have a chance to schedule them before I left. Bah I am the definition of a bad blogger!!

So how about me and you just kinda.... forget this happened huh? ;) LOL

Things should finally be going back to normal around here so let's kick it off with some pretty purple nails!

This look is pretty simple and quick to do. I started with a base of China Glaze Flying Dragon. When that dried I stamped over it using Bundle Monster BM-412 and an unnamed white stamping polish I found at Claire's. I finished it off with some Poshe for a nice shine.

Even though these were real simple I fell in love with them! My nails were still pretty short here but I feel like then pattern made them look longer. Did you ever notice how some designs can do that? Crazy stuff man ;)

I apologize again for disappearing for so long hopefully that doesn't happen again! You guys are the reason I love to blog so I hate disappointing you!

Thanks again so much loves :)
