Negative Space White Blobbicure

Hey guys!

It's been a hot minute since a last did a blobbicure and I think it's about time I get another one up on this blog! I have to say, this may be my favorite one to date, so make sure to let me know what you guys think!

I started off by applying a thick layer of Seche Vite on my nail, while that was still dry I took Sinful Colors Snow Me White and blobbed it all over my nails. I let the polish spread and when it was dry I applied on more layer of Seche Vite to seal it all in. I also added this cute little crown to my ring finger nail!

I love this look! And I love it even more because you only need two things: top coat and white polish. That's it! No tools or anything, how much better could it get?

Do you think this look is cool?!

Thanks loves :)

Saran Wrap Marbled Nails with Metallic Temp Tattoo Accents

Hi guys!

I've finally jumped on the metallic tattoo bandwagon woohoo!! For those of you who aren't aware, in the nail art world people have started using temporary tattoos for nail art and its just fantastic! Since I finally just got a few in I thought I'd give it a try with this fun and spring saran wrap mani. Let me know what you guys think!

I started out with a base of Essie and then sponged over top of each nail with saran wrap and Sinful Colors Snow Me White. When that dried I used these fun small silver triangle tattoos and applied them to my nails. I sealed everything in with some Seche Vite and that was it!

I really enjoy the way that the soft purple and white contrast with the harsh metallic silver I think it gives such an interesting effect!

I'll definitely be using more metallic tattoos soon so watch out!

Watercolor Nails

Happy Saturday! We've made it through another work week hallelujahhhhh.

I've had 0 time to paint my nails lately and I'm dying on the inside! I've got so many ideas floating around and just absolutely no time to try them out T.T But one idea I did have a chance to create was this watercolor design, and thank goodness ;)

I started off with a base of Sinful Colors Snow Me White on all of my nails. When my base was dry I thinned out some blue, purple, and teal acrylic paints with water and painted them all over my middle and ring nails. When they started to dry I used a brush and q-tip to suck up the remaining watered down acrylics leaving a watercolor effect and then added three small dots on the sides. I taped off my index and pinky and repeated the same process. I sealed everything in with a layer of Seche Vite to finish this design.

Oh watercolor nails how I love you so! I'm not sure I got the technique down the best this time so I'm absolutely going to be trying this design out again. I really enjoyed the way that they came out though, even if they were TOTALLY a pain in my ass. -_-

Pain is beauty that's what they say right? ;)

What do you guys think?

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter guys!

I hope you're all having a wonderful day with friends and family!

I wanted to do something fun for my Easter nails this year so I decided to go with Easter egg tribal nails! I so love how these came out let me know what you guys think!

I started off with a base of Sinful Colors Snow Me White. When it dried I created all of the designs with various colors of acrylic paints. I sealed it all in with a layer of Seche Vite and added a final layer of NYC Matte Me Crazy for a flat finish.

This color combination is so fun and springy I really enjoyed wearing these on my nails! What do you guys think?

What are you doing for Easter this year?

Lots of Large Dots

Hi guys!

I'm really loving dotticures lately. They're so easy to create and you can do almost anything with them! I've chosen to super size them this time though! Keep reading to see what I came up with.

I started off with a base of Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Heart of Stone. When it dried I used a large dotting tool and Sinful Color Snow Me White, China Glaze Pool Party, Essie Boom Boom Room and OPI Malaga Wine to create the large dots. I sealed everything in with some Seche Vite and added a final layer of NYC Matte Me Crazy for a flat finish.

I so love these! I love how he kind of look like bubble gum balls! I really want to experiment with dots some more so if you guys have any suggestions please let me know in the comments!

I hope you're all having a lovely week! Keep an eye out on my Instagram and YouTube later today for tutorials on this look!

St. Patrick's Day Inspired Dotticure

Happy Sunday!

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! St. Patrick's Day is quickly approaching so I think it's time for some green nail designs don't you think?

Let's start off with a quick and easy design, the classic dotticure! I love creating dotticures because they are so easy and you can create any look you want. Keep reading to see what I came up with!

I started off with a base of Sinful Colors Snow Me White. When that was dry I created the dotted design with a dotting tool and China Glaze Con-Fused?, China Glaze I'm With The Lifeguard, OPI You Are So Outta Lime!, and China Glaze Mingle With Kringle. I sealed it all in with Seche Vite to finish this design.

I so love this look! I don't usually wear green polish so this is a great way to wear it and be festive without being overly green ;)

What do you guys think? Do you have any plans for St. Patrick's Day?

Keep an eye out on  my Instagram and YouTube Channel for tutorials on this look!

White to Gold Reciprocal Gradient Reverse Stamping

Talk about a mouthful of a title right?

LOL I swear these nails are way easier to create then they sound. I wanted to try some reciprocal gradient nails and I though what better way to try then to add in some stamping too. Bring it up a notch ya know? Keep reading to find out how I did it.

I started with a base of Sinful Colors Snow Me White. When that dried I created the gradient using Sinful Colors Snow Me White and Maybelline Color Show Bold Gold. Then I stamped over top of the gradient using the same colors and Bundle Monster Plate BM-408 making sure that the white half was stamped over gold and vice versa. Finally I sealed everything in with some Seche Vite and the design was finished.

I know it sounds difficult but honestly this design was so easy to create. Time consuming? Yes but hard? No way! I encourage you guys to try it! And make sure you tell me so I can see all of the beautiful designs you come up with :)

What do you think guys?

Make sure you keep an eye out on my Instagram and YouTube Channel for tutorials on this look! I will update this post with links once they are posted.

Spot Gradient with Water Marble Overlay

MOAR GRADIENTS!

I really forgot how much I absolutely love doing gradient manis. I've got a really fun one to share with you guys today, it's reminiscent of my Summer Neon Gradient and Watermarble but this time with a much more cool toned twist! Keep reading to see what I came up with :)

I started off with a base of Sinful Colors Snow Me White. Then I applied some liquid latex around my nails to protect the skin and added random blobs of China Glaze Too Yacht To Handle, Sinful Colors Let's Talk, and TLLB Blue Ribbon Baby on a cosmetic sponge. I then lightly dabbed the sponge over all of my nails twice. I peeled off the liquid latex and added a layer of China Glaze Fairy Dust over each nail because it's Fairy Dust, duh. I then applied some more liquid latex around my nails for the water marble. I created the water marble with Sinful Colors Snow Me White and Maybelline Color Show Clear. I dipped each nail in, peeled off the liquid latex, and sealed them in with Seche Vite to finish the design off.

Oh gosh I just LOVE these so much! They are so fun and the sparkle peeks through just enough when the sun shines.

What do you guys think? Keep your eyes peeled on my instagram and youtube channel for video tutorials on this look!

Inspiration Nation: Halloween Edition

Hey guys!

I did that whole disappearing thing again didn't I? Poop. Sorry guys! I've been juggling so many things lately that blogging has kind of taken a back seat. I'm working hard on my line, The Little LacquerBean and there's some exciting things that are going to be happening with it so keep an eye out!

Anyways let's get on to the nails! I'm sure most of you know Kelli from The Nail Polish Challenge, and if you don't you have to immediately click that link to see because she's amazing!! These nails are inspired by a manicure that she did recently, a mattified dotticure. I seriously fell in love with the nails she did and I loved her color combination, I really wanted to recreate them using the same colors but since it's almost Halloween I thought that a themed manicure would be fun!

Okay so you're totally going to be mad at me but I literally cannot remember what I used for a base... I really want to say Lime Crime Milky Ways but I just don't know! The lighting is a little off so I'm not sure if it's actually white. Hmmmm, well it will work with either color ;) Then I used Wet n Wild Black Creme, Lime Crime Pastelchio, and Sinful Colors Citrine along with a large dotting tool to create the dots. I applied Essie Good To Go before my matte top coat to prevent it from smearing my dots. And when it dried I used NYC Matte Me Crazy to finish it off!

What do you think guys? I know it's not even close to the amazingness of Kelli's but I'm seriously digging this mattified mani!

What's your favorite design to mattify?

Thanks loves :)

31DC2014 Day 29: Inspired By The Supernatural

Hey guys!

So I regretfully invite you all to take a look at my Day 29 nails... The prompt is inspired by the supernatural and my nails just.... don't really do it. I may even venture to say that they look like flying poops... yes, flying poops LOLOL Oh well though you can't win them all right?!

I'll tell you what I was trying to accomplish here, when I think of the supernatural for some reason my mind immediately goes to Harry Potter. Maybe it's just the fact that I love Harry Potter, yeah, it's probably that ;) But anyways, I was inspired by the dementors, seeing as they always terrify me!! Ready to check it out?

I started off with a base of NYC Sidewalkers on all of my nails. Then I created a circular gradient using Sinful Colors Slate and Wet n Wild Black Creme. When it dried I went back with some black acrylic paint to create the big dementor on my ring finger nail and all of the small flying ones on my other nails. I sealed it all in with Essie Good To Go and that's it!

While the design is creepy for sure, I'm not quite sure that it really looks like dementors. But I tried and that's what counts right? ;)

Okay guys you have to save me! Post a link to your 31DC2014 day 29 nails in the comments so I don't have to look at mine anymore!!

Thanks loves :)

Mish Mash Challenge: Nail Art Technique You've Never Tried

Hi chickies!

Happy hump day! You know why I like Wednesdays so much? Because it means another challenge day from the Mish Mash Challenge hosted by Kimber's Lacquer Korner! Yay!!! Today's theme was something kind of cool: a nail art technique you've never tried before. There's a million and one different nail art techniques I haven't tried yet so I was pretty excited for this day. I knew whatever I chose would be challenging, and it was ;), but I always love a good challenge!

I've been seeing water spotted nails floating around the blogosphere a lot lately and knew I had to try it out. Water spotted nails always seem to make me think of one idea, turquoise stone nails. YES!

I was correct in thinking that this would be difficult though -_- I followed the tutorial from Lacquerstyle she made it super easy to follow! And even though they didn't really end up looking like turquoise stones I still quite like them! ;)

I started with a base of Zoya Zuza on all of my nails. Then I ripped up a makeup sponge and lightly sponged Sinful Colors Mint Apple randomly. When that was dry I used a new piece of the sponge to dab on Sally Hansen Golden-I randomly as well. Then I put a drop of Wet n Wild Black Creme in a cup filled with water and sprayed some hairspray on it to create all the holes in the water. I dipped each finger in quick to get my design. Top coat with some Poshe and this design was ready to go!

Why is this so blurry?!?!? -_-
And to make it look even more rock-like I added NYC Matte Me Crazy to take away the shine. I really like it this way!

I wouldn't necessarily call this a 'fail', more like a 'needs improvement' ;) But that's ok because practice makes perfect right? And even though it was a bit frustrating and they didn't really turn out looking like turquoise stones I still think the final effect is pretty cool!

Have you tried water spotted nails yet? What's your favorite color combination?
Thanks guys and don't forget to check out everyone else's designs I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

Mardi Gras!

Good morning!

I've got a green and purple mani for you guys today for Mardi Gras!! Woohoo! This design is actually one I've been DYING to try! The amazing Sarah over at Chalkboard Nails does these beautiful nails and paints a maze-like pattern over them. If you haven't been to her site then you HAVE to go! Her nails are literally always perfect! Needless to say I've been absolutely in love with them and had it on my to-try list forever! Well finally I've done it!

Colors used:
- Sinful Colors Let's Talk
- China Glaze Running in Circles
- Maybelline Color Show Bold Gold

You have to trust me that these looked SO awesome in person! There seems to be something wrong with my camera at the moment because it doesn't want to take a lot of crisp photos... strange. I haven't quite figured out why it's doing that so you'll have to suffice with these ;)

Also, if you've been here awhile then you know that I love Sinful Colors Let's Talk SO much! Unfortunately it likes to photograph much more blue then it really is. In real life it's a beautiful royal purple not this weird blurple color that you see hah!

But anyways what do you think?

Thanks for reading guys :)

You're outta this world!

Happy Sunday everyone!

I decided to revisit some galaxy nails! I've only ever done one and I knew I wanted to try them again. I actually wanted to do some galaxy drip nails really bad but time was not on my side -_- I will do them soon for sure though!

I tried to go off of memory on galaxy nails. I know they're pretty easy because you just sponge on some colors but I'm too picky! Lol! But I really enjoyed recreating these nails so make sure you check them out :)

Colors used:
- Sally Hansen Heart of Stone
- Sally Hansen Hard to Get
- ELF Sean Escape
- SInful Colors Let's Talk
- Wet n Wild Kaleidoscope
- Color Club Gift of Sparkle

Not too shabby right? ;) I really want to try some of the yellow-y orange ones but I'm still a bit frightened! I also have seen some really pretty turquoise ones. I know I'll be doing some more galaxy nails in the near future!

Oh and today is the Super Bowl woohoo!! Since my Patriots have been knocked out I may or may not watch the it... but I know what I am watching... THE PUPPY BOWL! Hah! It's literally puppies playing in a super bowl-esque arena, probably the cutest thing I have ever watched in my entire life. It's on at 3 on Animal Planet if any of you puppy lovers want to watch! LOL

So what do you think? Are you going to watch the Super Bowl? Who are you rooting for? :)

Thanks for reading guys!! :)
