Twinsie Tuesday: Soft and Feminine

I'm late for Twinsie Tuesday AGAIN T.T

This time it's not entirely my fault I swear! I've been sick this weekend and I was going to write up my post yesterday but my computer decided that it didn't want to work. I was trying to download the new version of iMovie and it just completely shut down my computer. Technology right?? But it's all settled now so I'm finally writing up my Twinsie Tuesday post woohoo!

The theme for today is soft and feminine. I'm super excited about this post too because I really wanted to try out this one stroke ribbon method I saw Madamluck do on Instagram. Man, it's way harder then I thought it would be to do! But I figured it out and I can't wait for you guys to see what I've come up with!

I started out with a base of Sinful Colors Snow Me White. Then I created the ribbons using a pink and lighter pink acrylic paint. I outlined the edge with a slightly lighter pink acrylic paint and created the dots using two different teal acrylic paints. Finally I sealed everything in with a coat of Seche Vite and that was it!

So they OBVIOUSLY didn't come out as good as Madamluck's did (she's a goddess!!) But I'm quite proud of these ribbon nails and really want to revisit this technique again soon.

What do you guys think? What color combination would you like to see?

Don't forget to check out everyone else's Soft and Feminine nails, I can't wait to see what they've all come up with!

Dotted Flowers

I've been seeing this dotted flower design circulating Instagram lately and thought I would give it a go.

I like this particular design because it's easy to create I don't do near enough floral designs. Let's get started!

I started off with a base of Lime Crime Peaches <3 Cream. Then I took LynB Designs Nightmare Revisited and a large dotting tool to create the flowers. After I've created the flowers I went back with Lime Crime Peaches <3 Cream and a slightly smaller dotting too and overlapped the first dots. Then I used LynB Design Nightmare Revisited to add dots in the middle of the flowers and smaller dots around the flowers. I finished this design off with a layer of Seche Vite to seal everything in.

I wasn't sure how I would like this design but I ended up really loving it. The color combination and this flower design gives the whole manicure an almost 80's feel don't you think?

What's you favorite floral design?

Turquiose Tie Dye

Let's get real right now. Like really real. I was SO SCARED of trying this tie dye design. Literally laugh all you want, I have no idea where this fear came from, I'm always ready to tackle a new design idea but for some reason this tie dye design scared me, I really didn't think I could do it. Some times I'm absolutely ridiculous ;)

But I persevered through my absurd fear and created this fun and surprisingly easy turquiose tie dye design. Gosh, I'm so silly.

Anyways I started out this design with a base of China Glaze Too Yacht To Handle. When it was dry I took Sinful Colors Snow Me White and created the first swirl. I went back over that swirl with SMW using small horizontal lines. I made a swirl right next to the white one using China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise and the same technique. Finally used China Glaze Too Yacht To Handle to go back over the open space with small lines. I sealed everything in with a layer of Sech Vite and the design was finished.

I so wish I tried out this design sooner! It's such a fun technique and I want to try out so many different color combinations!

What color combinations would you guys want to see? Let me know in the comments!

Nude and White Floral "Lace"

One of my most favorite color combinations has to be the nude and white combination. It's so clean, fresh, and beautifully classic.

That being said I have a super fun and fresh nude and white floral "lace" design to share with you all today. I don't believe that this particular stamp is supposed to be a lace design but I think that stamped over nude like this gives it a pretty lace effect. So I'm calling it lace. The end.

I started this design out with a base of OPI Bubble Bath. I absolutely love this shade its the perfect nude and it makes your nails look clean and polished which is so important for a nail blogger like me because my nails get really stained from all of the different polishes I wear. When Bubble Bath was dry I stamped over each nail using Bundle Monster plate BM-204 and PMTG White Undies. I sealed all of that in with a coat of Seche Vite and finally added one coat of NYC Matte Me Crazy for a beautiful matte finish.

I could have worn this design for weeks! I'm totally smitten with it. The matte finish gives the classic color combination an almost edgy finished look and it's just perfect <3

Whats your favorite color combination? Let me know in the comments!

Twinsie Tuesday: Endometriosis Awareness

Happy Tuesday!

I hope your week is going well, I'm counting down the days until Sunday because DAYLIGHT SAVINGS! I can't wait for it to be lighter out later, just one more step closer to summer ;)

Anyways since today is Tuesday that means it's time for Twinsie Tuesday! The theme for today is Endometriosis Awareness. Now to be honest I know nothing about Endometriosis, so I decided to do a little research. From what I read I understand Endometriosis as a painful disorder that occurs when the tissue that normal lines the inside of the uterus grows outside of the uterus. This causes discomfort which can sometimes be severe and also fertility issues. Man, that sounds terrible. I'm glad that the theme for today is Endometriosis Awareness because I really don't think many people know about it, myself included, and I think it's important for everyone to know. The color for Endometriosis Awareness is yellow so I've got a bright yellow design below. Keep reading to see what I came up with!

I started with a base of Lime Crime Crema De Limon. When it was dry I stamped over it using Bundle Monster plate BM- 321 and Orly Glowstick for a subtle ribbon effect. When that was dry I used my cancer ribbon vinyls from The Little LacquerBean and painted over them with Maybelline Color Show Bold Gold. To finish this design off I sealed everything in with one coat of Seche Vite

I have to confess, I hate yellow nail polish. It's always difficult and I hate the way it looks with my skin! But I surprisingly didn't mind this mani, the two yellows really complimented each other and the outcome didn't close with my skin like I thought it would. Maybe I'll be trying out some more yellow designs in the future!

Don't forget to check out everyone else's Endometriosis Awareness manis for today, I'm super excited to see what everyone has come up with!

Squared Ruffian

Ruffian manicures are fun, but squared ruffian manicures are even better!!

I'm always on the lookout for new ways to do different designs and recently I saw a post from The Nailasaurus and her nails were a gorgeous squared off ruffian design and I absolutely fell in love! I knew I needed to try my hand at it and I have to be honest, it's amazing! So many different color combinations are running through my head now and I can't wait to use this technique again! Keep reading to see what I came up with.

I started off with a base of Essie Bikini So Teeny. When it was dry I used a small nail art brush to map out the square with Color Club Miss Bliss and then filled in the inside of the square, you can also just use the brush that is with the nail polish to fill in the square, it's much faster LOL!  I then took the same small nail art brush to create the outline of the square with Essie Trophy Wife. I finished this design off with a layer of Seche Vite to seal everything in.

I am really so happy with the way these came out. It's such a fun and geometrical design and I love the way the straight lines contract with the small curve of my free edge. What do you guys think of this look? Do you have any color combinations you would like to see?

Thanks loves :)

Pastel Spot Gradient with Stamping

It's gradient time!

It's been so incredibly long since my last gradient manicure which makes me so sad because I love gradients! Truth is I ran out of my cosmetic sponges and have been way to lazy to buy more... oops T.T But I've finally got some so let's kick off what I'm sure will be a plethora of gradient designs with this fun, springy, pastel spot design with some contrasting stamping on top.

I started off with a base of Sinful Colors Snow Me White. I then applied some liquid latex around my nails (watch out for this fun neon pink liquid latex to be available in my shop SOON!) I then took a cosmetic sponge and added splotches of Essie Nice is Nice, Lime Crime Pastelchio, Lime Crime Once In A Blue Mousse, Lime Crime Parfait Day, and Lime Crime Peaches <3 Cream. Once everything was dry I stamped over each nail with WetnWild Black Creme and Bundle Monster plate BM-721. I peeled off the liquid latex, cleaned up around my nails and applied a coat of Sech Vite to finish off this design.

I love the way that these spot gradient designs come out, so unique and each nail never looks quite the same. This design is so springy I can almost smell the fresh air... fresh air that isn't -10 degrees -_- Almost.

I've also filmed a tutorial for this design so look for it sometime today on my Instagram account!

Thanks loves :)
