Always In My Heart

Hi guys,

If you follow me on Instagram (@pinkandpolishednails) then would would have heard already that my beautiful grandmother passed away last Thursday. She fought a short but terrible battle with uterine cancer, and watching her fight and slowly fail was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. But she is finally at peace and not hurting anymore and that gives me solace.

So, when I went to paint my nails I automatically went for my LynBDesigns Nightmare Revisited. My grandma loved it when I painted her nails and this was the last color I painted on her and she was so in love with it. It seemed only fitting to use it now, especially because it's one of my favorite colors too. I painted two easy coats and applied some Multi Heart Stencils from Stick It! Nail Vinyls over each nail. Then I sponged on some Wet n Wild Black Creme halfway up each nail, removed the vinyl and applied a coat of Seche Vite to seal everything in. 

I love the way this look came out and it makes my heart smile to be reminded of my grandmother.

Blue Leopard

NUBBLIESSSSS!!

Yep while I had my sinus infection ALL of my nails snapped off T.T So, back to the nubbly farm we go.....

Anyways I've been loving animal print so much lately and have so many ideas, like this one, that I want to create. This blue leopard accent mani is so fun and works great even on short nails! 

I started with a base of LynBDesigns Absolutely Absolem. When it was dry I stamped over my ring and pinky nails with Bundle Monster plater BM-221 and PMTG White Undies. Then I filled in a few spots with China Glaze Mingle With Kringle. Finally I seal each nail in with a layer of Seche Vite.

I absolutely fell head over heels for this design. I love animal print and layered over on of my favorite polishes is just a match made in heaven <3

Reciprocal Star Gradient Nails

Hi guys! 

I'm super excited about these nails because ever since I started seeing these swirl star vinyls I knew I HAD to try them! Well good news and bad news, bad news first: they are a HUGE pain in the butt to apply!! LOL But the good news is that they are absolutely 100% worth it! 

I started off with a base of Wet n Wild Black Creme. Then I created the vertical gradient using Wet n Wild Black Creme and LynBDesigns Nightmare Revisited. When that dried I applied my star vinyls (which I purchased from Snail Vinyls) and created the same gradient but with reverse colors. I peeled off the vinyls and added a layer of Sech Vite to seal everything in. 

I'm so obsessed with reciprocal gradient designs lately. The final effect is just so amazing to me LOL! But really, these nails totally made me feel like a rockSTAR B)

Geometric Stripe Nails

Hi everyone! 

I've got some super fun nails to share with you guys today. This manicure was one of those 'I have no idea where I'm going but I'm just going to keep truckin' LOL I actually really love the way they came out. I was inspired by a pattern online, I wish I could find it but it's seemingly disappeared! Anyways, check out what I came up with!

I started out with a base of LynBDesigns Nightmare Revisited. Then I applied some skinny straight nail vinyls and painted over them with Essie Boom Boom Room. I peeled off the vinyls and added a dot of LynBDesigns Nightmare Revisited in the center of each nail. Finally I sealed it all in with a layer of Seche Vite. 

I love how you can see the sparkle of Nightmare Revisited peeking through the pink cream. These were so stunning in the sunlight I'm sad I didn't get a chance to take a photo to show you guys!

Negative Space Single Chevron

I am in LOVE! 

This design is so simple and so easy and it gives such a stunning effect. I die!! 

Oh man you're just going to have to keep reading to see what I'm talking about ;)

I started off applying some single chevron nail vinyls to my bare nails, I'm using vinyls from TLLB. Then I painted over the vinyls with LynBDesigns Absolutely Absolem and quickly peeled off the vinyls before the polish was dry. I sealed it all in with some Seche Vite and the design was finished. Yes it was that easy!

I honestly can't get over how much I love these nails. The effect is just stunning and I really wish I had gotten a photo in the sun because this holographic polish is just blindingly perfect. I can't wait to do even more negative space nails soon, they really are so simple but so fascinating.

Heart Fishtail Nails

Hi guys! 

I'm super excited about this post because I've tried another technique that I've never used before! Yay for new things!!! ;) I'm not sure exactly what to call this design so I'm going with heart fishtail nails... deal with it LOL Ready to get started?

Start off with a base of BaronessX Fairest Of All. When that dries use LynBDesigns Fishing With No Bait to create the first heart. Then use LynBDesigns Nightmare Revisited to create the second heart creating the heart fishtail effect. Seal everything with some Seche Vite and the design is finished!

This look is so pretty! I mean not to toot my own horn ;) But I'm really digging this color combination and this look was so incredibly easy to create I know I'm going to have to revisit it soon.

Dotted Flowers

I've been seeing this dotted flower design circulating Instagram lately and thought I would give it a go.

I like this particular design because it's easy to create I don't do near enough floral designs. Let's get started!

I started off with a base of Lime Crime Peaches <3 Cream. Then I took LynB Designs Nightmare Revisited and a large dotting tool to create the flowers. After I've created the flowers I went back with Lime Crime Peaches <3 Cream and a slightly smaller dotting too and overlapped the first dots. Then I used LynB Design Nightmare Revisited to add dots in the middle of the flowers and smaller dots around the flowers. I finished this design off with a layer of Seche Vite to seal everything in. 

I wasn't sure how I would like this design but I ended up really loving it. The color combination and this flower design gives the whole manicure an almost 80's feel don't you think?

Jewel Toned Stained Glass

Jewel toned nail polish... YUM.

There's something so satisfying when jewel tone nail polishes come together. They compliment each other so well and the end result is so deep and gorgeous.

I've been wanting to try making decals using my stamping plates and I thought this stained glass idea would be a great idea to try. Besides taking FOREVER, I really enjoyed the process and I am in love with the outcome! Want to see what I came up with?

I started by painting my nails with Enchanted Polish June 2014... actually it was an old mani, but it still works ;) Then I used Bundle Monster plate BM-208 and WetnWild Black Creme to pick up the image. While it was still on my stamper I filled in some holes using Color Club Kismet, The Little LacquerBean Blue Ribbon Baby, LynB Designs Teal The Cows Come Home, and LynB Designs Nightmare Revisited. When I finished filling in the holes I took my Sech Vite and painted over the entire design. I let that dry completely and then took some tweezers and loosened up the edge of the image. When the edge was loose I used my tweezers again to grab it and slowly peel it off of my stamper. I put a coat of Seche Vite on my nails and laid the decal over top. I then got rid of the excess with my cuticle clippers and cleaned it up with a brush dipped in acetone. Finally I finished it off with one more layer of Seche Vite. 

So. In. Love. It was a bit more difficult then I anticipated to do, as you can see by my messy lines in my macro ;) But that was my first nail and the rest got progressively better I swear! The hassle was definitely worth it in the end though because I mean just look at it! Look at all those jewel toned polishes!! 

I know I'll be revisiting this technique again really soon, is there anything that you guys want me to do?

OH! And I've decided to start filming tutorials again! I love filming them for you guys but life got a little bit crazy and I just didn't have the time. Thankfully things seem to be settling down finally so I can start filming again and I started with this design! LynBDesigns Swatch Spam!

Hey guys!

I'm literally so excited right now I can't even explain it to you all ;) Over the 4th of July weekend the lovely Jenna, creator of LynBDesigns, was having a super awesome sale that I just had to take advantage of and man, I'm so glad I did! This is my first experience with LynBDesigns polishes and I am so incredibly impressed I can't help but share these pretties with you. Are you ready for some gorgeousness?! 

Swatches below are photographed first in white light and then with my camera's flash.

- Absolutely Absolem -

Bright blue cobalt liner holographic polish with small blue hex iridescent glitters. Formula was great, thicker because of the glitter but extremely easy to apply. Swatch is three thin coats with top coat.

- Fishing With No Bait -

A golden, peachy, nude base with a beautiful pink shimmer. Also has a strong linear holographic finish. Formula was buttery smooth and swatch is three thin coats with top coat. 

- However, Whatever, Whenever - 

Metallic-esque charcoal liner holographic polish. Formula was great, a bit thick but easy to apply. Swatch is two thin coats with top coat. 

- Nightmare Revisited -

A wonderfully bright, juicy fuchsia raspberry jelly with a strong linear holographic finish. Love, love, LOVE this shade. Incredibly gorgeous! Formula was awesome, swatch is three thin coats with top coat.

- Teal The Cows Come Home -

Bright teal shimmer with a smattering of holographic pigment. Formula was super smooth. Swatch is three thin coats with top coat.
