No H8 on November 8!

Hi again guys!!

I've got a pretty special post for you all tonight and I'm sure you've seen it on other bloggers blogs.

Bullying is not funny. It is not cool. It is not right. And more importantly, it is not okay.

Most of us are, thankfully, residents of countries that support tolerance and many of our families have settled in these places simply for that reason. Generations later, it is our responsibility to perpetuate that message of tolerance across our new social platforms, including the internet.

As members of the nail polish blogging community, we all share a love of beauty, color, and lacquer. Other than that, we are remarkably different: from our race to our religion to our hair color... even our polish application techniques. To marginalize anyone because of those differences is completely unacceptable and today I take a stand against that. I refuse to allow other people's view of "normal" dictate how I behave, believe, and blog.

In solidarity with a multitude of bloggers linked below, my purple manicure represents my proud commitment to the No H8 movement. Today, November 8, I dedicate my post to ending bullying of any kind and to encouraging diversity and imperfection among our colorful community.

Below you will see my purple mani... which you have seen before -_- Sorry all I worked 10 hours today and didn't have time to paint my nails!! But it's the meaning behind the purple that means the most.

Up until a little while ago I had no idea about the bullying going on in our little community but now that I see I am utterly appalled. To think that these people could say ANYTHING bad about other people's manis is just baffling to me. No one, myself included, has the right to tell others that their mani isn't as good as so and so's, or that they didn't clean up their cuticles, or even that their nails are shaped weird. I find it horribly sad that some people are so unhappy with their own lives that they have to make everyone around them miserable. Especially in a community that I feel strives to lift everyone up! I'm not mad at these bullies, instead I feel sympathy for them. Sympathy that they can't allow themselves to join in the wonderful community that we have going. I am proud to be able to call myself a nail blogger, I always look forward to see what others have commented on my manis and I don't ever want to be afraid that someone has said something mean and neither should all of you!

What you all need to know is that all of your manis are amazing! Every. Single. One. Whether you have a blog or you just paint your nails for fun, every single time you paint your nails you are all creating amazing art work. I haven't seen a mani that I didn't think was beautiful and you all should be so proud of what you do. And don't EVER let anyone take that pride away from you!

Thanks all for reading through my rant :) This is very important to me and I want you all to feel confident in your work! Now on to the mani :)

Like I said before you've all seen this mani but I really liked it and it's purple so I HAD to show it :)

Thank you to everyone taking a stand today I know all of us bloggers truly appreciate it :)

Thanks again for reading!! I've got some lovely watermarbles for you guys tomorrow so check back then :)

  2. That is one delicious purple - and it is a great mani - and of course a worthy cause!
PS it would be great if you went into your settings and removed the word verification - a lot of people never comments on blogs with that turned on - and you might not even know it's on...
