Polka Dotted

Hi guys!

I've been itching to do a dotticure lately but sometimes they can be so frustrating! I mean they're super easy to create but trying to get the dots all the same size can make you go cross eyed! And of course I'm SUPER ocd so I spend so much time trying to get them all the same time it's nuts! So i decided to try out these polka dot stencils from Stick It! Nail Vinyls and man, they were so much easier! Check it out!

I started with a base of Bear Pawlish Never Ending Story. When it was dry I placed the Polka Dot Stencils from Stick It! Nail Vinyls and sponged Sally Hansen Snappy Sorbet over top. I peeled the vinyls off while the polish was still wet and finished it off with some Seche Vite.

I'm LOVING the look of these uniform dots, my inner ocd is very pleased :) Not to mention Bear Pawlish Never Ending Story is completely GORGEOUS!

Love it!

What do you guys think?

Thanks loves :)

Rainbow Pastel Half Moon Nails

Hey guys!

I'm so happy that I'm getting back into doing gradients. I really wish I didn't wait so long to go out and buy more cosmetic sponges because I honestly forgot how much I loved this technique. It's so versatile, there are so many different things you can do, radial gradients, vertical, horizontal, spot. The list goes on! I'm sure I'm probably boring you guys with my rambling so let's get on with the real reason you guys are here... NAILS!

Okay I started this look off by applying hole reinforcement stickers at the top of your nails near the cuticle. Then I placed a piece of tape over the small hole in the stickers so that no polish would leak through there. Then I applied my polishes to my cosmetic sponge to create the gradients. The colors I used were: Essie Boom Boom Room, Lime Crime Peaches <3 Cream, Lime Crime Crema De Limon, OPI You're Way Outta Lime, and Essie Rock The Boat. I sponged on the gradients, peeled off the stickers and applied a layer of H&M Jo is in the House over just the gradients. Then I outlined the top of the half moons with OPI This Gown Needs A Crown. I sealed all of that in with a coat of Seche Vite and finally added a heart rhinestone to each nail.

These took FOREVER! But it was so worth it because I'm obsessed with the outcome! It's so girly and sparkly and just so many things that I love. They make me think of spring time and warmer weather and right now that's just what I need ;)

Keep an eye out on my Instagram and YouTube channel for tutorials on this look a little later today!

What do you think guys?

Thanks loves :)

Dotted Flowers

I've been seeing this dotted flower design circulating Instagram lately and thought I would give it a go.

I like this particular design because it's easy to create I don't do near enough floral designs. Let's get started!

I started off with a base of Lime Crime Peaches <3 Cream. Then I took LynB Designs Nightmare Revisited and a large dotting tool to create the flowers. After I've created the flowers I went back with Lime Crime Peaches <3 Cream and a slightly smaller dotting too and overlapped the first dots. Then I used LynB Design Nightmare Revisited to add dots in the middle of the flowers and smaller dots around the flowers. I finished this design off with a layer of Seche Vite to seal everything in.

I wasn't sure how I would like this design but I ended up really loving it. The color combination and this flower design gives the whole manicure an almost 80's feel don't you think?

What's you favorite floral design?

Thanks loves :)

Striped Tips

Stripes! Stripes everywhere!!!

I've been struggling with what to paint on my nails lately, I'm not sure where all my creative juices went but they sure ran away from me. *sigh* But never fear! I shall work past this block, it's the only way to get through.

I was experimenting with a few different designs and I came across this striped chevron french tip design that really stuck with me. So I decided to show you ;)

I started with a base of Ruby Wing Silk Sheets. When that dried I painted on the chevron tips with white acrylic paint. I then free handed on the black and purple stripes with acrylic paint. I topped the tips with some China Glaze Fairy Dust and then top coated everything with a generous coat of Essie Good-To-Go

Even though I've been having an artistic block I quite enjoyed this design. Simple, but still fun and colorful.

What about you guys, what do you do when you have a nail art block?

Thanks loves :)

Peaches and Cream dotted and spotted

Ever have one of those days. You know what I'm talking about, those days where you barely have enough time to paint your nails but your base is just DYING for some art? Yeah call me crazy all you want you know you know what I'm talking about!! ;)

Well that happened to me just recently! I was getting ready to go out and I couldn't decide what to paint my nails. Being short on time I figured I would just paint my nails a nice peach and that would be that. WRONG! That peach was just begging me for something, ANYTHING to be added on top. So of course being that nice little nail blogger that I am I obliged ;) I knew it needed to be quick so I grabbed my dotting tools and away I went!

I started off with a base of Lime Crime Peaches <3 Cream. I used three different sized dotting tools to create the dots and I used black and white acrylic paint and China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise. I topped it off with Essie Good To Go and I was ready for the night!

These nails were so quick and easy to create and I got so many compliments on them! Sometimes all it takes are those simple designs to really make people go 'wow'. And I really actually enjoy dotted nail designs, they're so much fun. Oh and you know I'm on a role with these Instagram tutorial videos so make sure you check this one out too ;)

Alright guys I need you! Tell me, what's your favorite dotted nail design?!

Thanks loves :)

Peachy-keen with a wild side

Animal print is back bishhhhhh ;)

I'll be the first to say that animal print is still sorely lacking on this little corner of the internet I like to call my blog. So when I picked up my polish and brushes the other night I just knew that the final product would have a wild side! I settled on this fairly simple peach zebra split design and I love the dainty peach with that little sliver of wild showing through :)

I started off with a base of Essie Blanc. When it dried I taped off 1/3 of my nails and stamped with Bundle Monster BM-223 and L.A. Colors Black striping polish. I took the tape off and painted the open 2/3 of my nails with Lime Crime Peaches <3 Cream. I took the L.A. Colors Black Striping polish again and created a divider between the print and the peach. Over the zebra portion I used China Glaze Fairy Dust to give it a little extra sparkle. I finished everything off with Poshe to give it a super shiny finish.

I really didn't have anything in mind as I was creating these nails but they came out surprisingly put together. I just kept adding on until I came to a finish I liked. I'm glad I stopped when I did because I usually end up putting on too much detail!! LOL

What do you guys do on your nails when you don't know what to do?!

Thanks loves :)

The incredible, ever-changing water marble featuring Ruby Wing polishes

Whew long title much?! LOL

I have a soft spot in my heart for Ruby Wing polishes, I love the fact that they change color, it really makes for some unique manicures. I had an idea to use some of their new spring line in a water marble and even though the polishes didn't want to spread I managed to get a halfway decent marble out of it :)

I started with a base of Essie Blanc so that the colors from the marble would really pop. When that was dry I created the water marble using Ruby Wing In Your Dreams, Ruby Wing Silk Sheets, and Ruby Wing Kitten Heels. I sealed everything in with some Poshe top coat and waited for the color-changing goodness.

Oh and I thought now would be a good time to show off my ring that my wonderful and thoughtful boyfriend got me for Valentine's Day. It's been getting sized for two weeks now.... thanks mom for giving me tiny baby hands.. I'm a size 5 1/2 LOL! But I love it so much I couldn't help but show it off! I hope you guys don't mind ;)

And here it is after I stuck them under a UV lamp!

I'm so glad this actually came out the way I pictured it! I wish the polishes covered a bit better, but I think I could have fixed that with some more drops, but oh well too late for that now!

Do you guys love color-changing polishes or what??
Thanks loves :)

Mish Mash Challenge: Triangle

Hi chickies!

I can't believe it's October already!! Where has the year gone? I guess I can't deny fall anymore *sniff sniff* bye bye summer :( But it is wednesday so at least there's a mish mash challenge to cheer me up right?! This weeks theme is triangle. I couldn't figure out what to do so I just kind of winged it until I came up with something I liked and man, I really like these!

I started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and created a gradient on top of that with Lime Crime Peaches <3 Cream, Lime Crime Parfait Day, and Kiss Striper Polish in Soft Blue. When that was dry I freehanded the triangle/swirly thing on top with black acrylic paint. Some Poshe top coat on top and the design was finished!

I really like the whole abstract, illusion-y look of these nails. I hope they are triangle enough for you guys!

Don't forget to check out everyone's triangle designs for today!
Thanks so much loves :)

I've been wanting to try the ikat design for a long time now but always put it on the back burner because I thought it would be too difficult and time consuming. But just a few days ago I was talking with the lovely Emily from Very Emily who does an absolutely fantastic ikat design among other amazing things (Seriously check her blog out she's super awesome!!! :)) and she was kind enough to send me a tutorial on how she does her ikat design. Her tutorial was so simple it made doing these nails a breeze! I can't wait to experiment with other colors to see how well they go together in this design! So take a look at my very first ikat design wooooo!!! :)

My striper polish was almost gone while I was doing these nails so unfortunately it got pretty goopey about half-way through these but I don't think you can really tell ;) I'm so proud of the way these came out and they were so much easier then I thought they were going to be!

It's here! It's here!!!!!!

My plate from vivid lacquer has arriveddddd!!!!!
Can you tell I'm excited? :)
*warning picture heavy*

Good morning everyone!!

As you read above, I bought Vivid Lacquer's VL001 plate and it came in the mail yesterday and I just could NOT wait to try the lovely designs out!! This is my first real stamping plate and it does not disappoint! I've always heard such great things about Anni and all of her products over at Vivid Lacquer :) I mean just look at the plate!

SO SHINY :)

What a cute back!

I've done two designs so far! :) The first mani I did with these plates is a Halloween plaid style, appropriate right? :) Since it's my first real attempt any mess-ups is completely because of me the plate is perfection!

Colors used:
- Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Snappy Sorbet
- Finger Paints Paper Mache
- Sally Hansen Black Out

So it's peach and not orange..... close enough :)

This next mani is a recreation of the first design I ever saw using the VL001 plate and is ultimately the reason I wanted to get the plate so badly. And of course now that I'm looking for it I can't find it online so if and of you guys know the original creator of this please let me know who it is so I can credit them :) Take a look!

Colors used:
- Finger Paints Paper Mache
- Sally Hansen Black Out
- Ms Pedicure Red

Tell me that's not adorable!!! I fell in love with this mani the minute I laid my eyes on it the first time and just knew if I ever got my hands on this plate I would have to recreate it!

So what do you guys think?? I know I'm definitely going to buy some more plates from Vivid Lacquer, current there are four plates total, click the link to go to her etsy shop!

Thanks for reading everyone :)
