Always In My Heart

Hi guys,

If you follow me on Instagram (@pinkandpolishednails) then would would have heard already that my beautiful grandmother passed away last Thursday. She fought a short but terrible battle with uterine cancer, and watching her fight and slowly fail was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. But she is finally at peace and not hurting anymore and that gives me solace.

So, when I went to paint my nails I automatically went for my LynBDesigns Nightmare Revisited. My grandma loved it when I painted her nails and this was the last color I painted on her and she was so in love with it. It seemed only fitting to use it now, especially because it's one of my favorite colors too. I painted two easy coats and applied some Multi Heart Stencils from Stick It! Nail Vinyls over each nail. Then I sponged on some Wet n Wild Black Creme halfway up each nail, removed the vinyl and applied a coat of Seche Vite to seal everything in.

I love the way this look came out and it makes my heart smile to be reminded of my grandmother.

What do you guys think?

Thanks loves :)

Gradiented Hearts

Hearts, hearts everywhere!

I'm loving these Multi Heart Stencils from Stick It! Nail Vinyls, they are incredibly easy to use and my favorite part? The insides of the stencils don't lift up when you remove the stencil from the paper. I can't tell you how frustrating it is, though a lot of you probably know, when you are trying to use a nail vinyl and you have to pick out the insides. So aggravating! That's why I like these vinyls so much, aside form having a great variety, the vinyls are nice and stick and the insides stay where they are supposed to ;)

For this fun heart look I started with a base of Sally Hansen Insta Dri Tag, Ur It! and applied a layer of Seche Vite over each nail to protect the polish from the vinyls. I applied the multi heart stencils to my nails, protected my skin with a layer of liquid latex and created the gradient using Lime Crime Parfait Day and Glam Polish Without Love and a cosmetic sponge. I removed the vinyls and liquid latex and sealed it all in with one final layer of Seche Vite.

I absolutely LOVE how fun this look is! And it's so easy to create and use whatever color combination you want. I especially love the purple glitters in Glam Polish Without Love, such a perfect finishing touch ;)

What do you guys think?

Have you tried Stick It! Nail Vinyls? What did you think?

Thanks loves :)

Heart-icure

Time for some Valentine's Day nails!! Woohoo!

My nails today are kind of half and half... half Valentine's Day, half not Valentine's Day. They are hearts but they are also black so I suppose it could go either way :)

I sat down to do my nails and knew I wanted to do a dotticure using my Color Club holos since I've wanted to do it for months now, and after I finished the dots I just envisioned black hearts in the center of each nail..... talk about a divine intervention! ;)

I started with a base of Wet n Wild Black Creme on all of my nails. Then I took my dotting tool and created the different sized dots using Color Club Cosmic Fate, Color Club Eternal Beauty, Color Club Kismet, Color Club Miss Bliss, and Color Club Over the Moon. I went back using all of the same colors and a toothpick to fill in the bigger spaces with tiny dots. When everything was dry I took Wet n Wild Black Creme again and painted a heart in the center of each nail. I finished off with some Poshe top coat and I was good to go!

I tried to put some indirect light on these ones because the glare from the light makes it difficult to see the black hearts as you can tell in the first picture! So that's why my hands kind of look funny here.

What's your favorite Valentine's Day of Anti-Valentine's Day go to manicure? Maybe I'll take some suggestions for future manis... with credit given of course! ;)

Thanks so much loves :)

It's here! It's here!!!!!!

My plate from vivid lacquer has arriveddddd!!!!!
Can you tell I'm excited? :)
*warning picture heavy*

Good morning everyone!!

As you read above, I bought Vivid Lacquer's VL001 plate and it came in the mail yesterday and I just could NOT wait to try the lovely designs out!! This is my first real stamping plate and it does not disappoint! I've always heard such great things about Anni and all of her products over at Vivid Lacquer :) I mean just look at the plate!

SO SHINY :)

What a cute back!

I've done two designs so far! :) The first mani I did with these plates is a Halloween plaid style, appropriate right? :) Since it's my first real attempt any mess-ups is completely because of me the plate is perfection!

Colors used:
- Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Snappy Sorbet
- Finger Paints Paper Mache
- Sally Hansen Black Out

So it's peach and not orange..... close enough :)

This next mani is a recreation of the first design I ever saw using the VL001 plate and is ultimately the reason I wanted to get the plate so badly. And of course now that I'm looking for it I can't find it online so if and of you guys know the original creator of this please let me know who it is so I can credit them :) Take a look!

Colors used:
- Finger Paints Paper Mache
- Sally Hansen Black Out
- Ms Pedicure Red

Tell me that's not adorable!!! I fell in love with this mani the minute I laid my eyes on it the first time and just knew if I ever got my hands on this plate I would have to recreate it!

So what do you guys think?? I know I'm definitely going to buy some more plates from Vivid Lacquer, current there are four plates total, click the link to go to her etsy shop!

Thanks for reading everyone :)
