Snow Flakey

Hello December!

I know I've already posted once this month but I was in such a rush I didn't have time to say my welcome! Not that I welcome every month.... but December is such a festive month I think it deserves it.

It's no secret that I hate winter, I think I say it 34894368950793 times every year, but there are two things that I do enjoy about the season, snow and Christmas! I'm going to be doing quite a few festive designs this month, or that's the goal anyways ;) And I'm going to start it off with a chilly design featuring a special polish from my brand The Little LacquerBean. Read on if you want to know why it's so special!

I started off this design with a base of The Little LacquerBean Let It Go. When it was dry I used some snowflake nail vinyls from The Little LacquerBean and fit them to each nail. I trimmed off the excess and applied Essie Good To Go to finish it off.

I LOVE blue and silver together. Actually my Christmas tree has had a blue / silver theme for the past 3 years, even though I'm changing it up this year shhhhhh ;) This design is so simple and easy to do, it took me about a half hour to complete, yet it looks so fun and festive.

You guys still here? I'll let you in on a little secret if you are. This polish is a part of a special collaboration. I have been asked to be the guest this month for The Glitter Box, a monthly box from Fat Lacquers that features a different guest each time. As you can guess I was ecstatic! Especially when I found out this month's theme, Frozen! I'm a huge fan of the movie (child at heart FOREVER) so I was pumped to create TWO polishes. Yes that's right, there will be TWO boxes this month! The boxes will go on sale December 5th so keep an eye out I'll have some proper swatches coming soon!

What do you think of that secret?! Will you be purchasing one, or even both, of The Glitter Boxes?!

That's all for today, talk to you guys soon!
Thanks loves :)

St. Patrick's Day Pot O'Gold Mini Leopard Nails

Happy St. Patrick's Day cupcakes!

I don't really celebrate the holiday myself but it sure is fun to create some nail art for the occasion! Green is not usually a color that I reach for... I don't know why really, I love green, but it's not my first choice for manicures, weird.

But, St. Patrick's Day is the perfect time to remedy that situation :)

For this particular design I really wanted to try my hand at some mini leopard print, and surprisingly enough it didn't turn out too bad!

I started with a base of Essie Blanc and then created the gradient using Zoya Mitzi, China Glaze I'm With The Lifeguard, and China Glaze Con-Fused?. When that was dry I created the mini leopard print with black acrylic paint and the spots with Essie Penny Talk. I top coated with some Poshe and I'm ready for St. Patty's Day!

I'm actually really surprised that these didn't take that long, I finished them in around an hour and a half. And as far as this being my first attempt, I'm very happy with them! But there's plenty of room for improvement and I'm looking forward to tacking these again. :)

What do you think guys? What are you doing for St. Patrick's Day?
Thanks loves :)

Merry Christmas!

It's here! It's here!

Anyone else excited? I must admit I'm like a 5-year-old when it comes to Christmas, I love everything about it. Which would be why I'm posting this so early my time. Yes, my sister and I always get up at 3am and play video games until 7am when we go wake up our parents, yeah, be jealous! ;) I mean I'm only 22 and she 25 so that's still okay right?!?! LOL

Anyways, time for the nails! I struggled trying to come up with an idea for my Christmas nails until it hit me! Santa nails!! DUH!

I started with a base of China Glaze Glistening Snow on my index, middle, and pinky and China Glaze Angel Wings on my thumb and ring. I painted all of the designs on using acrylic paints and China Glaze Running in Circles and China Glaze Just Be-Claws. I finished it up with two generous coats of Poshe.

'attempted' to write Merry Christmas.... ;)

Fa-la-la-la-laaaaaa! Santa Claus is coming to town and I hope he treats you all good!!! ;) Me? I've already gotten the best present of all... all of you who come here and read my little blog!! So thank you guys for making this blog one of the best decisions I've ever made!! :)

What's on your nails today? Merry Christmas my cupcakes!!

Christmas Eve-icure

What the heck?

How did Christmas sneak up on me so quickly!?!? There are so many Christmas nail designs to be done that will never get done!! T.T I really don't even understand! *sigh* Christmas slow down please!

At least I have a design for Christmas Eve Day right?!

I started this look with a bast of Azature White on all or my nails. On the striped nails I used striping tape with China Glaze Santa Red My List, China Glaze Con-Fused?, and China Glaze Angel Wings. For my thumb and ring finger I did a glitter gradient using China Glaze Angel Wings and then applied a red and green rhinestone to the top. I topped is all off with some Poshe and the design was finished!

Totally digging this look! I'm so sad I have to take it off but sadly I haven't even thought about what my Christmas nails are going to be so I must find time today to figure them out! Suggestions welcome!!! :)

I hope you are all having a wonderful Christmas season and hopefully you're more prepared then I am!! ;)

What the marble?!

This is not what I expected.

Sometimes I just like to add dots... lots and lots of dots... it can almost camouflage a terrible water marble right?! Right?!?

Ehhh almost but what are you going to do? I wanted this marble to look like a Christmas tree, I saw one somewhere at some point in time and absolutely fell in love with it, not that I can remember for the life of me where, when, and what the heck it looked like. But I attempted anyways and then just smothered it in dots. :)

I started with a base of Maybelline Color Show Tenacious Teal and marbled with China Glaze Def Defying and Con-Fused? and Maybelline Color Show Tenacious Teal. Then after I dipped my nails and saw the.... whatever it was I made, I decided that it needed some "Christmas ornaments". I added dots with OPI This Gown Needs A Crown and Sally Hansen Golden-I. I topped it with some Poshe and the design was finished, I think anyways. :)

Oh and speaking of nails... I'm not sure how I feel about these longer nails of mine. I don't know, sometimes I like them and then sometimes I feel like they look terrible. What do you guys think? Keep 'em growing or go back to my shorties? :)

I suppose this design isn't terrible... Just not exactly what I had in mind. Although I didn't really have a real picture in mind so maybe this IS what I had in mind! ;) What do you think?!

Let's put this in the spotlight!

Can I just take a second here and talk about something important... NAIL POLISH! ;) My work had our Christmas dinner the other week and every year we do a secret santa swap. It's no secret there that I'm obsessed with nail polish so who would have thought that my secret santa would get me polish?!? Not I! ;)

Among other polish pretties that I was given, there is a real gem in here. OPI Fresh Frog of Bel Air, while not a new polish but new to me, is a gorgeous mix of green micro glitters and silver large hex glitters and it is just everything I wanted is a green glitter! I knew I wanted to layer it over a white to red gradient... but I forgot to take in to account that the white and red would turn pink... Christmas FAIL -_-

But I persevere, I still very much liked this combination so Christmassy or not you still get to see it :)

I started with a base of Azature White and sponged using that white and Dior Marilyn. I dabbed one coat of OPI Fresh Frog of Bel Air and top coated with Poshe and it was finished!

Ooooooh sparkly!!! The photographs really don't show how gorgeous this polish really is but it's a small glimpse into the green sparkly abyss!

Until next time lovelies!

Merry Blah-mas

Hello pretties

I hope you don't mind if I have a little pity party for a second here... I know I've been pretty absent from this blog and to be honest with you I haven't even had my nails painted for a while now. Nothing seems to stand out to me and anything I paint on my nails I immediately take off because I hate it. I can't seem to get out of this funk! I think it's because I've been so busy working extra hours at work, going to nail school, and trying to get my Christmas shopping done. I also seem to be having a bit of seasonal depression, not that I'm using that as a crutch but because I want you guys to know what's been up with me. I've painted a few Christmas designs which I'm not happy with but I'm still going to show on this blog because I don't want to abandon you! I've been working hard lately to get myself to a better place and slowly I think I'm getting there. Maybe I'll try to paint my nails again tomorrow and actually like what I paint!! *fingers crossed* ;)

Now I don't want you guys to think I'm a debbie downer now because I'm still bubbly old me, I've just had a few too many bubbles popped lately ;) I do really love the Christmas season and I hope to be able to bust some awesome Christmas designs out soon! So let's get back to this design... the most acceptable of designs I've painted lately :)

I started this design off with a base of Azature White. When my base was dry I painted on the red and green stripes using red and green acrylic paint. Finally I topped it off with some China Glaze Fairy Dust and Poshe. Ta daaaaaa!

Not too bad but I know I can do better, I'm a glutton for punishment and I must challenge myself!! I can't figure out why I'm lacking such inspiration this year :( So I'm asking you guys! What do you want to see me paint this holiday season? Challenge me loves! :)

Thanks again for sticking with me! You are all the best followers ever and I mean that!! :)

Swatch: China Glaze Happy HoliGlaze Holiday Collection 2013

Hi loves!

So this has taken me WAY too long to get up here but the time keeps slipping through my fingers somehow! I know, I know, not an excuse but they are here now and that's what matters right?

I've got six of the 12 colors of China Glaze's 2013 Happy HoliGlaze collection reviewed below and man are they pretty! ;)

All Wrapped Up is a blurple (blue/purple) micro glitter. This one is one of my favorites, the glitter is so fine it gives such a great depth to the polish. The formula was a bit thick as usual with glitter but easy to work with. It built up quite nicely, below is three thin coats, enough for full opacity, with two generous coats of top coat. Yep, this one is definitely a top coat eater ;) But totally worth it! Actually if you don't want to top coat it dries to a slightly textured look which is really pretty as well.

Just Be-Claws is a gorgeous Christmassy red foil. I know there will be so many reds out this holiday season but something about this one just stands out to me. It really is the perfect Christmas red. The formula was super smooth and easy to work with. Below is two thin coats with top coat.

Put A Bow On It is a magenta/berry micro glitter. Similar to All Wrapped Up and just as pretty! There is a great mix of glitter giving a good depth to the polish. The formula was the same as All Wrapped Up and was fully opaque in three thin coats. Below I have three thin coats and two coats of top coat. Again, if you don't want to top coat this one it dries to a slightly textured look which is gorgeous too!

So Blue Without You is a bright blue foil. All I can say about this one is WOW! What a seriously gorgeous color, and still perfect for the holiday season. The formula was great and was opaque in two coats. Below is two thin coats and top coat. What a blue!

Santa Red My List is a cranberry/pink foil. In the bottle it looked similar to Just Be-Claws but it couldn't be more different! Santa Red My List is such a gorgeous color, and a bit more toned down if you don't like those in-your-face reds ;) The formula was smooth and only required two thin coats for opacity. Below is two thin coats and top coat.

There's Snow One Like You is a textured white with some white hexagon glitters. Now this one's a funny one. It has gotten some mixed reviews because it is so unusual. I have to say though, I actually quite like it. I can definitely say there is nothing even close to this in my collection. The formula is pretty difficult to work with, it's thick and bumpy but if you work carefully you can apply two thin-ish coats and dab on some more in spaces that look bare. After it dries though it's really kind of fun to look at, it reminds me of that fake snow you put around your house :) Below is two coats plus a little extra dabbed in some places and no top coat.

So what do you think? Do these polishes get you in the holiday mood? They certainly did for me! I think China Glaze has really hit the mark on this holiday collection with some really unique and gorgeous colors. There are 6 other polishes in the collection plus a traveling top coat. I think I'll definitely be picking some of the others up so keep watch on the blog for some more pretty holiday colors ;)
