Pink Herringbone

I sure do love a good herringbone design!

So when I saw THIS design on the ever talented Sam from The Nailasaurus I knew I had to bust out the striping tape one more time! I have to confess, I absolutely hate striping tape. 9 times out of 10 I will free hand stripes over using striping tape. But this particular design needs those crisp lines that striping tape can create so I had to suck it up for the love of nail art! ;)

I started off this design with a base of Essie Blanc on my middle and ring finger. Then I taped off one half of the nail and applied the striping tape. I painted over it using Ruby Wing Kitten Heels. I pulled the tape off and did the same thing on the other side. On the rest of my nails I started with a base of China Glaze Too Yacht To Handle and added a layer of HITS Hefesto on top. I top coated everything with Essie Good To Go and the design was finished!

I really enjoyed wearing this design I actually kept it on for 6 days straight! The sweet color combination of the pink and mint coupled with the crisp lines make this one of my favorite designs to date!

Thanks loves :)

Nail art using Color Club 2014 Safari Garden

Weeeeeeeeeeee Daylight Savings Time!

I don't know about you guys but daylight savings time is basically like Christmas for me, that extra hour at night literally boosts my mood so much. I don't know if you guys can tell but I'm definitely NOT a winter person, it's just so depressing! And daylight savings times is just one small step towards spring and I look forward to it every year ;)

But enough about that, lets get on to some nail art!

When I received the Color Club spring collection in the mail I really loved how they complimented each other and immediately I started thinking up ways to incorporate them into some nail art. I'm excited about what I came up with so take a look ;)

I started with a base of Color Club Look, Don't Tusk and created a gradient using the same and Color Club In De-Nile. When that was dry I used some striping tape and taped off near my cuticles and used Color Club Nail-Robi for the triangle design. I topped it all off with some Poshe and the design was done!

I really love the simple-ness to this mani and I love how subtle the gradient is. It creates such a sweet look, but striking with the addition of the dark Nail-Robi. I got so many comments on these when I wore them it was a lot of fun!

What do you think? How would you use the colors in Color Club's new spring line for some art? Leave it in the comments and maybe I'll feature your idea :)

Thanks loves :)

Inspiration Nation: Freckled Finger Nails

Been a long time since you've seen one of these posts hasn't it?

When I saw THIS design by Freckled_Finger_Nails on Instagram I instantly fell in love. This design has been on my mind for quite a while now and I'm so glad that I've finally been able to try it out. I'm not going to lie, it wasn't easy. I tried for hours trying to get the right technique for the water colored roses and I can't tell you how many times I failed. I finally googled some water colored nails and found the right technique!

All you have to do is mix acrylic paint and water to make the water color mixture. Then you take your brush and draw a bumpy circle. Once the pain starts to dry I sucked up the wet part with a q-tip. Then I just kept adding circles smaller and smaller until I felt they looked rosy!

So, I started with a base of Lime Crime Milky Ways. For my index and pinky I taped off the stripes and sponged on Color Club Miss Bliss to give it a vintage sort of look. Then I created the roses using the technique above and red and green acrylic paints. I topped everything off with some Poshe to give it a great shine.

I am so in love with these nails! I think I wore them for 4 days which is almost unheard of for me ;) Thanks so much Freckled_Finger_Nails for creating such beautiful and inspirational nail art!

Christmas Eve-icure

What the heck?

How did Christmas sneak up on me so quickly!?!? There are so many Christmas nail designs to be done that will never get done!! T.T I really don't even understand! *sigh* Christmas slow down please!

At least I have a design for Christmas Eve Day right?!

I started this look with a bast of Azature White on all or my nails. On the striped nails I used striping tape with China Glaze Santa Red My List, China Glaze Con-Fused?, and China Glaze Angel Wings. For my thumb and ring finger I did a glitter gradient using China Glaze Angel Wings and then applied a red and green rhinestone to the top. I topped is all off with some Poshe and the design was finished!

Totally digging this look! I'm so sad I have to take it off but sadly I haven't even thought about what my Christmas nails are going to be so I must find time today to figure them out! Suggestions welcome!!! :)

I hope you are all having a wonderful Christmas season and hopefully you're more prepared then I am!! ;)

Mish Mash Challenge: Taping

Hi chickies!

It's time for another challenge day in the Mish Mash Challenge hosted by Kimbers Lacquer Korner! Today's theme is taping. I have a very love hate relationship with taping, striping tape to be more specific... I absolutely love the effect it can give but really hate cutting all those stupid little pieces! They always find a way to get stuck all over me -_- But I wanted to do something really cool for this challenge so I sucked it up and cut 2673857489 little pieces of tape.

I'm not sure where this design idea came from, it actually wasn't my first idea but I couldn't quite get that one to work out without swearing profusely! So I just kind of stuck some tape on my nails until I had something I remotely liked ;)

To start this design I painted all of my nails with two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and then two coats of China Glaze Orange Knockout on top of that. Once my nails were dry (I used some Poshe top coat to speed up drying time ;) ) I put the vertical pieces of tape on my nails. I put one piece horizontally to make the cut off line nice and clean. I painted over the tape with Lime Crime Peaches <3 Cream and pulled the tape off. When that was dry I put the horizontal pieces of tape on and painted over those pieces with the same polish. After I pulled the tape off I did some touch ups with a striping brush, top coated everything with Poshe and I was done!

I really quite like how the final result looks! It was a little time consuming but I definitely think it was worth it. What do you guys think? Do you use striping tape? Is there an easier way to cut all those pieces because I don't think I can handle the nightmares!! ;)

Thanks guys and don't forget to check out everyone else's taping nails! I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with :)

It's My Birthday!!!! (+tutorial!)

Hello cherubs!

So guess what?! It's my birthday!! Woohoo! I don't think there is anyone in the world who loves their birthday more then me ;) I had such a hard time coming up with an idea for my nails. I literally have been debating on them for the past two weeks! Do I do the classic cupcakes? Or do I do something that I really love? I finally decided to combine both ideas and do one of my favorites with cupcake accents and I really love it!

I started with a base of Lime Crime Parfait Day on all of my nails besides the accents. When that was dry I used striping tape to create the lines with OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. And finally I topped it off with China Glaze Fairy Dust because who can resist some good sparkle? ;)

And down below you'll find my very first tutorial EVER! I made one on how I created the cupcake nails so check it out!

And here's the tutorial!

What do you guys think? Should I make some more tutorials?

Also you won't hear from me for a little bit I'm going on vacation starting today and I won't be back until next Saturday... I'll try to bring my laptop with me but my family and I are going camping so I'm not sure if I'll be able to get on at all.

I hope you guys have a great weekend thanks so much for stopping by! :)

Taste the neon rainbow!

Hey dolls

I'm super excited to show you guys what I've come up with today! It's no secret that I love neons... like a large amount. So I decided to combine them all and create some sort of neon stripe-y gradient.

I started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and used some striping tape to create some stripes and created the gradient using China Glaze Pool Party, Orange Knockout, Sun-Kissed, I'm With the Lifeguard, Nina Ultra Pro Blue Blaze, and China Glaze Flying Dragon. I finished it off with NYC Matte Me Crazy because I'm really loving mattified neons at the moment... don't worry there's a shiny one at the end for all you who don't agree with me ;)

And this is with Poshe top coat.

This was surprisingly easy to do and I really loved the outcome! For some reason the whole chalky look that comes with mattifying a mani really appeals to me with neons. What about you guys? Shiny or matte?

Blue and Gold, Dots and Stripes

Hey guys!

So I'm kind of getting in to the whole "skitlette" nails. I'm a little bit OCD so this is strange for me haha. The striping tape design is inspired from the lovely Sammy over at The Nailasaurus. If you don't know her blog you're seriously missing out! She does some beautiful nail designs!

But now you have to check out my first almost "skitlette"! :)

Colors used:
- Sally Hansen Golden-I
- Essence Make is Golden
- Maybelline Color Show Navy Narcissist

I have to say I'm totally digging this whole almost "skitlette" design. I know it's not really a true skitlette but it's a pretty big step for someone like me ;) Not to mention blue and gold has always been one of my favorite color combinations.

And I really like the combination of the stripes and dots I think it makes it really interesting :)

So what do you guys think?

Now stop! It's party time!

Hi guys!

I have to take a quick break from swatching all of Nicole's amazing polishes because... I went to a party! ;)

Last night was my mom's work Christmas party.... a little late right? Lol! I don't know why they do it like that but they do. So anyways my dad was working so I agreed to go with my mom in his place and I'm so glad I did! We had so much fun!! I knew I had to do some fancy nails for the party and decided that gold and black was the way to go because who doesn't love gold and black?! Unfortunately I ran out of time while doing these :( I was going to do the tape on all of my nails but I do like the way the gradient looks with it! So lookie!! :)

Colors used:
- Wet n Wild Black Creme
- Sally Hansen Golden-I

Oops looks like I smudged a bit! LOL

Doing some creative modeling to try and hide a chip ;)

Verdict: The nails were a hit! I'm going to have a hard time taking these off because I like them so much!

And if you're wondering what I did for my mom's nails I ended up painting them black and layering Zoya's 18k gold flake top coat for some sparkle and she loved them!!

So what do you guys think?

Blazing stripes

Good morning!

Well it's back to normal today... wishing I could have just one more snow day just to get past Monday ;)

But enough whining and on to the nails! I had no idea what I was going to do on my nails the night I did these all I knew is I definitely wanted to use Zoya Blaze. I've been neglecting my three Zoya's from the Ornate Collection and I have no idea why! These polishes are some serious gorgeous-ness! Anyways, I'm not sure I really love the end result but we win some we lose some right? Oh and I know the lines are crooked on my middle nail -_- haha!

Color used:
- Zoya Blaze
- Lime Crime Milky Ways
- Sally Hansen White On

I think what I don't like about it is Milky Ways is far too light! And The stripes don't really let the beauty of Blaze shine through...

But it's on my nails so that means it gets a spot on this blog! Lol!

So what do you guys think?

Totally tape-ular dude!

Happy Sunday!

I hope your weekend is going well! I was SO unproductive yesterday -_- I was planning on painting my nails at least twice maybe three times and only ended up painting them once... but it's ok because I am totally loving them! LOL I decided to break out the trusty striping tape and just do something random, too bad I can't actually do anything random because I am WAY too OCD -_- hah! I still think they came out pretty BA though so check them out!

Colors used:
- Lime Crime Once in A Blue Mousse
- FInger Paints Late Night Rendezvous

I did a different design on my right hand since I knew I wouldn't be able to do the one above on it. I mean I probably could but it took me almost an hour and a half just to lay the striping tape down on my left hand and I really didn't feel like doing that again -_- But it's actually quite cool so here's a close up of my right ring finger :)

Simpler but they kind of look cool together. I should have taken a photo with both my hands... oops! I really love using striping tape! Well, I hate cutting it and placing it and finding that stupid end piece, but other then that it's awesome ;)

So what do you guys think?
